Why Such An Uproar Over Non-US Citizens With H1-B Work Visas.

Because human beings are nepotistic. As soon as a person say from India can hire people from India that is what he or she will do.

I am in the tech industry, and I have seen it go from almost 100% American citizens to at least 40% Indian and 60 percent citizens. I started working in the field around 1998.

Another problem is that the reason given is savings on salary. Many of these (not all) of these companies make so much money - that really isn't the problem.

How high do these "visa" numbers go?

You could also take it upon yourself to do your own research but that would mean you'd actually have to care enough to make the effort.

it's the person making the claim about something to provide verifiable proof with links not just screen shots for what they claim. X has a handy little share link that is all you would have to do click that copy and paste it.

I see the point being pushed is that our H1-B worker visa massive use means Americans have lost what was important a long time ago. We have grown into a nation of lazy asses that would rather go down the path of "Quiet Quitting" living a life of mediocrity than to put in the work for a successful life.

STEM is a big issue as less and less Americans go into that because it's just too hard and they end up with a degree that is worthless while being 50k in debt working as a barista. For foreigners to come here is huge in not only do they make a lot more money than back home, but the dollar exchanges well for double benefits.

At least he admits the program is broken in it's current state. I fully support his stance on this, raise the salary and costs of having H1B on staff. These are supposed to be replacements for folks they can't find, not a cheap method of enhancing headcount.

We can overlap this same issue with construction too. Contractors will hire whoever is cheapest for profit. I do not have an issue with this, but if we want to change it then we need to make H1B and others not the cheapest direction and it will self-correct.

I know how to use links but the screenshots I posted provide plenty of data to verify if you truly want to. Simply type the name of the account into X and the info will come up. Very easy to do. You know, you double checked one of my posts about Yemen striking a US ship to debunk me. Remember? But for the disingenuous ones, simply read this NY Post article shared by Wemustcare. H1B is a ticket for immigrants to ethically and productively enter American society. That's what we want, not to freeze traffic completely but to carefully process applicants and grant them access based on merit. If you're not a criminal and you are prepared to pull your weight as a citizen, that's a strong argument in favor of H1B.

The fact that Elon, savior of the 1st Amendment, is censoring anyone - big name or not- should be a big red flag to those of you who really believe he's on your side. Elon should review his position on 1A and the whole reason he bought Twitter in the first place, and then apologize to audiences for imposing his will.

America as we know it today was built on a foundation of the combined efforts of immigrants who brought with them generations of cumulative technical knowledge. Not for nothing has it been called "the melting pot".

LOL! The quanta of categorizing more or less American is semantic at best and obsessive at worst. In the end, it is in fact a legal relationship, demanding at minimum a series of documents defining your arrival and intent within US borders. Eventually you succeed in naturalizing, which has no criteria except residing and laboring and paying your dues per constitutional mandate. Speaking of constitution, that document is our identity and unifying culture. Declaration, constitution, bill of rights. There's no reason productive and responsible immigrants should be punished because a very vocal minority of nationalist blowhards are scared of replacement theory.
