I did my work on an H1-B visa in Philadelphia and then got the hell of the US.

South Africans, Indians and some Canadians did the technical work, Americans were the "managers". They treated us like crap but we got the job done. We were just the hired help.

Never want to go back. The Canadians were cool.

Yes, I know not all Americans are a-holes, but that was just my experience.

I'm thankful the USA was blessed with your talent(s), and not an adversary nation.

Thank you for your kind words.

There has been no cap on the number of white-collar illegal migrants during Biden’s administration, in part because his pro-migration border chief — Alejandro Mayorkas — enforced a policy of no arrests for migrants who were not found guilty of major crimes.

In addition, Mayorkas has imported roughly one million migrants through his quasi-legal “parole pipelines.” This inflow includes many white-collar workers — but their unrecognized credentials exclude them from licensed professions.

Vaughan suggested these various pipelines have delivered 3 million illegal white-collar workers into the U.S. labor force, alongside the legal population of 1.5 million visa workers.

Lynn estimated the illegal white-collar population at roughly 1.5 million, alongside 1.5 million legal migrants.

In December, Mayrokas announced he would loosen the J-1 program to help migrants from China and India stay in J-1 white-collar jobs for longer than two years.

Mayorkas’ deputies also announced changes to the H-1B program to help American companies import more white-collar workers. The new rules allow more companies to be treated as non-profits so they can import an unlimited number of “cap-exempt” H-1B workers for jobs that are sought by Americans.

I paid a lot of money personally for my wife to immigrate legally, and a lot of other loopholes to jump through. Big fees involved with it all as well. That was the K1 Visa.

I took this ‘legal’ route with might wife , as well. I’m still waiting for my refund, since there’s no such thing as illegal.

Here's screenshots I took scrolling through. I don't know how many or exactly who. I don't follow all these people. Elon and his crew can always claim they took these measures for any reason they can come up with. Some of the accounts were MAGA influencers, most were conservative, all said something about the visas.

I'm not going to ask my colleague for his payslip, but we have talked salary before. He makes 4x less than I do for the same title and same responsibilities. Unlike him, if I'm fed up with management, don't like my wages, hell don't like the company logo, I can go somewhere else with no repercussions. He's stuck unless another company wants to sponsor him. As for taking the spot of someone in the US, I can name over a dozen people I know that fit into that job role, nothing against him at all, he does great work.

Yes an anecdote I know, but extrapolate a little and you'll see the bigger picture.

This is also not me against the program, it can be a very good thing, historically it's not been used as such. I have no problem working with a SEA, Eastern European, or what have you, as long as they're qualified. Which this program does produce, at least at my level. What I take issue with is how they're exploited by the program into doing a job at less than half of what an American worker would do it for. They should be paid the same as I am and receive the same level of benefits. Unfortunately that's almost never the case in my years in this industry.

62,984,828 People said yes in 2016.
77,297,721 People said yes in 2024.

MAGA is not fracturing.
MAGA does not care.
This is about social media clicks not influence.

If he has said so many horrible and crazy things why would 15 million more people vote for him.

I have no issues with the H1 and most people do not. If you are someone who would lose your job to them work harder and do not let the ceiling be # manager at McDonalds.

If these people are willing to work, why would you not want that?

Lots of people looking on X for these posts supposedly from Musk, and they can't verify those posts exist! Could be a major forgery effort, along with X editors still on DS payrolls. Also no "big" names being targeted either. Strange. 😬

Elon deleted a lot of his posts after he crashed out. I don't know who any of the "big names" are. Did they condemn the visas? Because that's who was targeted.

The fact that Elon, savior of the 1st Amendment, is censoring anyone - big name or not- should be a big red flag to those of you who really believe he's on your side. But I guess some people will keep the blinders on until you're forced to face the truth. I can't wait for Inauguration to be over with.

Better hope and pray this not a setup of "he said he knows somebody else said but can't show he said it" deals! The MSM has perpetrated these hoaxes before and millions fall for it. 😄

Problem being he is 100 percent correct. People hate to hear the painful truth. Elons talking about the few good ones who are from H1B's it seems from later tweets. The main problem is Companies such as Google, not hiring americans first because they are not the same ETHNICITY. Google is bad about hiring non americans and is majority Indian these days.
A EASY FIX is to restrict H1B to Actually talented people, not to anyone wanting to work.
MAke it also pay as you play. each year you have to pay a percentage OVER taxes to stay.

A real post from Musk:

Easily fixed by raising the minimum salary significantly and adding a yearly cost for maintaining the H1B, making it materially more expensive to hire from overseas than domestically.

I’ve been very clear that the program is broken and needs major reform.

That post came after the 48 hour long meltdown and this beauty 👇

If he really felt that way, why didn't he say so in the first place rather than go on a banning spree ?

It's called "damage control"

At least he admits the program is broken in it's current state. I fully support his stance on this, raise the salary and costs of having H1B on staff. These are supposed to be replacements for folks they can't find, not a cheap method of enhancing headcount.

Interesting. Because Homeland Security Mayorkas's boss was semi-comatose most of the time, he was running things the way he wanted to, and making adjustments to skirt rules and laws. It's like he was engaged in a personal challenge game of some kind.

I still don't know who the Big Names are but I did find posts from these two. "E" is a journalist with the Gateway Pundit and I'm sure most people are familiar with Jack Poso.

After Elon Musk experienced massive frustration from dealing with our (mostly) useless Congress, he was ripe mentally blowing up. After calming down over the past 24 hours...

Elon Musk admits the H1-B visas are “broken”, and floated a potential fix, as he sought to cool a raging civil war within the MAGA base over the immigration program for highly skilled foreign workers.

Just a day after vowing to “go to war on this issue” and telling detractors to “F— yourself,” Musk, the world’s richest man, acknowledged some of the criticisms of the program getting abused and argued that the US should make it more costly to hire foreigners.

“Easily fixed by raising the minimum salary significantly and adding a yearly cost for maintaining the H1B, making it materially more expensive to hire from overseas than domestically,” Musk wrote on X late Saturday in response to a thread claiming H1-B visas were being used to hire low-wage programmers and developers.

Instead or in addition to increases H1B wages, I would like to see employers pay into an Americana citizen training program.

It would provide free technical training along with a living allowance for two years.

You could also take it upon yourself to do your own research but that would mean you'd actually have to care enough to make the effort.
