China's support of Russia is of a token gesture of sorts charlest2.

And once this is all over and done they may well choose to invade certain parts of Russia down to the fact that Russia has been proven to be nothing more than a paper tiger.

China's bread and butter lies within the US and European markets.

They simply cannot bite the hand that feeds them.

Again.

I'm beginning to think you're practicing the rhythm method.

The amount of times you pull out.

Just pulling your chain mate, no harm no foul.

It looks like the red line has been called, and Russia will be at war with NATO countries if they allow the new missiles to be used against the Russian Federation.

The question is does Russia have the ability to go to war with NATO when it can't defend its own territory in Kursk after nearly 3 years bogged down in Ukraine ?

Putin can't use Nukes in Ukraine or anywhere else for that matter because China has warned them against it and without China propping him up all is lost for Putin , the cost of the war and lack of workers due to losses in the war has put Russia in a precarious position Putin is worried about his position and war with NATO wouldn't do him any favours or improve his position in the Kremlin , it seems threats are all he has left.

BBC News - No new pledge on Ukraine missiles after Starmer-Biden talks

Looks like permission to use Western long range weapons has not been given, so doom mongers can stand down.

Conflicting news here - saying Starmer has authorised the use of long range missiles to strike inside Russia

Well maybe this will help calm some of you down from your doomsday clock worrying.

I'm not so sure we should worry anyway.

Proxy war via conflict zone interference.

Standard operating procedure, think Angola 1975-2002 for example. Or 1954 Guatemalan coup d’état, as another.

There's always a war, but there's not always a politically backed conventional war, usually low intensity conflicts.

I wish Russia would start something with NATO and America .

Lets do it I'm tired of his posturing and his Nuke threats .

Lets see him put his money where is mouth is . The Russian Military is completely tied up in Ukraine and he thinks he can take on NATO . It's laughable.

Does Putin Think China will save him ??? A couple well placed hydrogen bombs will decimate half of China's Infantry . Lets do it ...... Lets just get WW3 over with so we can access Russia's natural resources.

USA Goes Gloves OFF! ATACMS Allowed to Hit Russia!

I still cannot actually work out if they are going to be authorised to use them where they want.

Same here.
Can’t decide if it’s a bluff or our leaders are really that next level of insane.
I haven’t even seen them tell us why they think this is a good idea besides the generic “Ukraine=good Russia=evil” rhetoric.
They’re just doing whatever they want.

Oh, it's all insane, no two ways about it.

But Russia doesn't really have much of a gripe where Ukraine using NATO ordinance inside their borders.

After all what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Russia has been skelping targets inside Ukraine with their own cruise missiles since day one of Mad Vlads ""special military operation"".

And continue to do so with their own, and now with Iranian drones/missiles, and North Korean artillery shells.

And how many foreign battalions do they have on the field from the likes of Cuba and North Korea?

So pot, kettle, black Mr Putin would be my thinking on the matter before threatening NATO, the US or the UK with a third world war.

So its been ok for Putin to use Iranian and North Korean missiles against Ukrainian civilian targets for well over two years but because they want to start doing more or less the same to Russia its Ukraine who are in the wrong?
Or should I say its 'The West' that's in the wrong for enabling Ukraine to fight back?

Sorry, but this is exactly the type of mentality that leads to nuclear wars. It's always about revenge and fighting fire with fire. Well if Russia and Putin really are as unstable as so many people claim, is it really a good idea to push them into a corner considering they are a major nuclear power? Sure, you can sit there and say it's cowardly to give into dictators, but I honestly think allowing Russia to control some of the East Ukrainian border is a better outcome than millions of people dying.

When the war in Ukraine first started I said it would be long and drawn out, with countless needless deaths, and many people told me I was a fool because Ukraine was clearly winning, despite the fact Russia has almost endless resources compared to a tiny nation such as Ukraine. They've only lasted this long due to immense support from EU and western nations. It has become a situation where neither side wants to admit loss because they've invested so much into it, and that's exactly how nuclear wars occur.

Military targets only , Ukraine wants to hit airfields and depots located out of their reach , with Russia getting hundreds of ballistic missiles from Iran I think what's sauce for the goose.

I think you have become desensitised to nuclear war.
Keep i mind that millions , maybe billions will be killed and the rest will be starving - whilst the rich hog all the remaining resources.
This is not the type of situation where you say 'ah, # it, lets do it'.

All this Saber rattling, "Russia will start a war with nato". What would Nato do? Who supplies most of the troops in nato operations? The US. How badly is recruitment these days? A draft wouldn't help because US kids have turned into simpering overweight, drug addled, undisciplined wretches. Not to mention after supplying Ukraine with military equipment for so long we don't have enough to sustain a conflict, let alone win one. Before some idiot says it's older stuff we are going to replace, how much did we lose in the Afghanistan withdrawal? That had not been replaced before we started handing more over to the Ukraine! Let's not ignore odds are our adversaries have more than likely had a chance to go over some our left over equipment. Lots can be learned from that type of intel. I'm sorry but does anyone really think Russia, China or anyone else sees nato as a threat? We got screwed and the people that screwed us have tightened the screw down with loctite.

Do you have a source for that ?

I don't see why NATO would allow Putin to call the shots , he's allowed to get ballistic missiles from Iran but Ukraine can't get them from their allies ?

Here's something interesting I recently came across on Reddit which spooked me a bit. I'm fairly confident it is a hoax considering it's a chan post, and since I found virtually nothing when I tried digging deeper into the origins of it. Even if it is true, we are on a different time line which could avoid nuclear war. However, the prospect of nuclear war still worries me, because we've never been closer to the brink. With all the threads I've written about time travel and the many worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics, I can't ignore the possibility this is a real warning. Real or not, we must avoid nuclear war at all costs.
