Nice rant and cool story. I’m retiring in the Philippines in a matter of months, so in some ways I don’t care but I’ll always wish the best for my homeland, although I’m already somewhat removed from here emotionally.

Sure kiddo, you'll soon see how that goes, with the amount of retards you have thinking they know better than the government...
It'll be really fun for those who don't give a # about you, it'll be disturbing for those who thought you were civilized.
It'll be cool for you because you finally get to shoot your neighbors.
I'll be here to remind you it's what you choose as a nation. Living in a house that was first build with the best the world had to offer, and 200 years later you still think the leaky roof and the crumbling walls are the best the world has to offer... I guess we all get to sleep in the bed we made.
A Nation of kids murdering psychos... Kind of like post birth abortion you know.... Fweedooom

No one is removing any guns but you need regulations that hold gun owners to the highest standard and you need a modern system to keep track of all those guns and their owners. Police needs the authority to enforce those regulations.
Just like you need with voters... But more control means more government... And thats where somehow there seems to be a huge dissonance...
There is one place in the us that is tasked with tracing guns and they literally are not alowed to use computer and internet for their filing, because you run on outdated laws that you think is patriotic to uphold. It is what it is, because you fail to adapt your laws. it'll only get worse with the raising economic tensions.
It's a digusting situation that needs a swift solution and everyone who denies that has American blood on their hands.
That’s what I thought, nothing you said is going to stop shootings in America. We have a ton of laws on the books already, you think a few more is going to stop the next shooting? Nah. There’s a thing called reality you should embrace it occasionally.

Prayer does work. Believe it, or not. That's your call.
They knew and did nothing.
Law enforcement officials say there was not enough probable cause for an arrest or further legal action.

Very sad.
Why is this such a common thing over there?

Yeah i guess you'll just have to live with that stain. You wont stop violence that is true, and the access to guns defines the deadlines of that violence.
Why doesn't this happen in Switzerland where there are as much guns per capita as the US? Because access is higly regulated. We won't do anything with our guns that is outside the laws, which makes it pretty save. Every Friday there are tons of automatic rifles carried openly in public transport. No one cares, because we know that to do so you're so thoroughly vetted it's unlikely you're a thread to anyone.
We dont need more government we have a strong and functioning one where people have trust in it to organize this country according to our will.
If we think something is wrong we have the recurse to change it anytime. We dont have to wait till our team is in charge, we also don't have to fear it'll be overturned at the next election. we are one nation with diffrent opinions, it takes a lot of thinking and talking to solve problems for good. Guns as a means of problem solution is for retards.
Here are some approaches we use...
There is a thorough vetting phase you'll have to produce all sort of documents to even be allowed to own. This can take a long time.
guns and amo has to be seperated at all time unless your on a shooting range or in the hunting grounds.
A centralized database where all guns and their legal owners are registered, if I'm not mistaken there is even a ballistic analisys added to that file, you know that fingerprint thing the barel leaves on the bullet.
Amo is held to the same standard as guns.
Carry permits are even hardee to get and include all sorts of personal, physical and psychological background checks. Breaking any of those laws is likely to end in a revoked permit and substantial fines. Police has the authority to enforce those laws.
If you dont want police ti have the authority to enforcethe laws you agree on, you might as well de fund it...
I know it's weird to live in peace and safety, it's not for everyone... Some enjoy violence and paranoia more...
If you dont want to adjust your laws it seems like you're stuck with accepting your failure as a nation.
Only people who suck heaps at problem resolution resort to guns as a means of problem resolution.

Or just feral kids kicking to death an 80 year old man walking his dog in a park.
