Putting armed Vets in every school may reduce the number of these attacks and minimise the deaths when they do occur but its only papering over the cracks.
Its a short term fix that would be more than likely become a permanent fixture without addressing the root cause.
Not addressing the root cause will only result in it manifesting itself in other harmful ways in society.
Why and how is America producing all these kids/people who want to go into schools and start randomly killing as many people as possible?

Even more repression and guilt. No thanks.
What we need is mental health counseling and a zero-tolerance policy for bullying.
1000 times this, it is the root cause
Improved security would be helpful too, we need to apply multiple potential solutions.
And yes it always comes down to money, applied correctly it could help. The mental health aspect is ignored, I just read some of Audrey Hall's journal. These deep-rooted issues could have been mitigated with consistent counseling and other methods.
The suspect is a 14-year-old boy, in a school of 1900 students chances are bullying is a part of the problem here
We have sent 50 Billion to Ukraine in two years.

Learning how to handle bully's is the solution, however you need to be bullied in order to learn those skills.

Is it just a coincidence that the kids name is Colt Gray and that if you do a Google image search for that name you get a bunch of pictures of military style weapons?
