Well, the Police dont seem to be able to handle them.

Hence the week and a half of chaos on the towns and streets.

Who else is there apart from the army?

Anybody whos breaks the law and chooses to mob and riot needs to be stopped and held to account.

If police can't do so someone must, else there goes the rule of law and order......

Or simplest explanation it's far right groups committing acts of violence.

No it isn't.
Of course there are some 'far-right' activists involved.
But the majority are just angry, frustrated, disillusioned ordinary people who have had enough and are demanding to be heard.

They have been branded and tarnished with the 'far-right' stigma by Starmer, MSM and all the wokerati that refuse to recognise and acknowledge that its ordinary people who are seriously pissed off.

The history of deploying the military against civilians rarely ends well

Indeed. The last thing we need is another Peterloo Massacre on our hands.

People have the right to protest.

When they go over the line it's the police job to arrest them as they have been doing.

Deploying the army must be the absolute last resort.

Ordinary people aren't attacking mosques and asylum hostels.

People have the right to protest, not commit violence.

400 is not a small anything, and the actual figures if they are all apprehended and held to account most likely in the 10,000s across the nation.

It's not just far-right people protesting, same as its not just far-right people rioting.

Most of those baw'bags committing offenses could not tell you much about politics left or right.

And are simply there to cause chaos.

Possibly true but for convenience happy to lump all the racist holigans targeting migrants together regardless of the sophistication of their political analysis.

Still not a good idea to deploy the army.

I'm just trying to keep up here. In your opinion, anyone opposed to illegal immigration but for legal migration or legitimate sanctuary is a racist hooligan?

Can you quote where I said that or anything like that?

Let me make it easy for you, you can't because I didn't.

You can support immigration reform, even zero immigration, without supporting attacks on asylum seekers and Muslims.

Amazingly a large number of posters are struggling with this concept.

I'll admit that I've only browsed this thread and not really digested every post but I can't recall anyone calling for the destruction of asylum seekers and Muslims. Did I just miss that call to arms?

Peaceful protest and mobbing and rioting are two completely different things.

Dont conflate one with the other because they are not the same.

Last resort indeed i agree, but i also think they are already past the line in the sand.

There is another option, as there was here in Canada, the bloody government could sit down and discuss the grievances with the protesters.

Didn’t happen here, won’t happen there.

Instead of that they will marginalize them and sic the army on their own.

Disgusting as usual.

Fireboming migrants isn't protesting.

Where would you have them sit down exactly?

And do they look like they wish to listen to rhyme or reason?

And its not the protesters that are predominantly the problem, but what happens next, once the neds gets full of powder and alcohol and decide to have a go at the Police.

What is it you expect the government to do wave a big magic wand and remove 5/6% of the population to the moon?

The best we could hope for is a stop to the illegal boats arriving, as to how they do that, i wish i had and answer for you there, but i dont have any sort of realistic solution any more than the TPTB.

Previously, at least in theory, we could.

Now we are not in the EU France is under no obligation to take people applying for asylum in the UK.

Net Migration has increased since Brexit, taking back control of our borders etc etc.

Brexit was supposed to tackle the immigration concerns.

Unless I'm wrong on that score.

But was that not part of the reason people voted for the failing endeavor?

Ya marginalization and the disregard public grievances tends to lead to this.

It didn’t happen overnight in a vacuum. The government wanted this.

You do know the far right ultra white Asian community in New York is protesting migrant shelters?

Probably not. It will be ignored until it reaches an uncontrollable level of frustration.

Same thing is happening in nearly every western country.
