So, you're saying that in states that outlaw The Pill, IUDs and Plan B, residents of those states should break the law and simply mail-order it?

Better than breaking the law and killing someone.

In certain issues, such as abortion, yes--IMHO.

They are, in most cases, not as concerned about their states as they should be.

State legislatures are on the ground in their states. Their feel for the pulse of that state should be better, no? Actually, I should have said their districts within that state.

Roe vs Wade was legislating from the bench, and bad law.

Personally, I do not like abortion. I have a very large wound because of abortion. I lost a child. Long story short, the Pill didn't work--nothing is 100 percent, after all. I was in Alaska at the time, and was not told of the pregnancy, or the abortion...I would have moved heaven and earth to care for that child had I known. I didn't find out 'til several years later. One day I'll forgive, but that day hasn't arrived yet.

I abhor, beyond my ability to describe, abortion as a method of birth control. But I also realize that there are gray areas in that that have to be addressed. State legislatures are better equipped to address those questions for their states.

Having said that, I'm not about to force my opinions on this matter off on anyone else...it's up to them, as individuals or as a couple.

Texas has banned/limited abortion pills. Do you suggest Texan women mail-order those too?

Again, whatever....

The states that have already put trip laws in place to outlaw abortion will also outlaw The Pill, the IUD and Plan B. Mark my words.

Then you ADJUST Sookie, geezus...

Laws change everyday!

Pull up your boots and deal with it. Look at all the 2A infringements law abiding citizens have to deal with. Both abortions and guns are used for "life protection". Both are used to kill in that regard and no, it's not apples and oranges either. Only difference is abortion victims are entirely innocent.

Sure folks were and are upset, frustrated and frankly betrayed but through innovation and political pressure, there is headway being made to restore and protect our 2A rights.

Time to relinquish that highly hypocritical high ground and get busy. Just to be clear, lifestyle/birth control abortions need to end.

It's time to act like adults and take some personal responsibility and accountability for ourselves instead of having the mindset that "well, if I do get pregnant I can just end it anyway, so "F" it".

If a state were to ban contraceptive, and someone orders contraceptives through the mail, and the person is arrested / charged, would require a legal challenge to the state law using the Commerce Clause of the US Constitution. There is already case law and in each case a state law was overridden by the Commerce clause.

Regulating commerce between states is a federal issue first and foremost.

There is concern that if SCOTUS over turns Roe, it could be extended to also outlawing birth control. Some of the arguments made to scotus addressed birth control methods and use.

There ain't no yacht club, bub.

I think I made my feelings on this crystal clear. I've so far been told in this thread that I should be chemically castrated and now that I should sit down and shut up because I don't matter. The answer, in both cases is:

HELL, NO. MAKE ME.

TheRedneck

If you run for office, maybe then you'll be my problem. Until then we can amicably disagree.

Heard an interesting take. With the emotion that is behind RvW and how charged the wedge issue may be.

The fact that the draft was leaked has taken a backseat effectively further normalizing corruption.

That the recent past and present political discourse is furthering a divide and the hyberbole of civil war.

Then don't. That's also a choice.

I stated they need to end. I didn't say they will end.... unfortunately.

Women lose the right to their own bodies the moment a child is conceived.

Perhaps they should use effective contraception and take control and personal responsibility instead of murdering their own children!! I find the whole practice aberrant and the people who practice and support it even more so.

The only time I would have little support is in rape cases.

But those who use it as a form of contraception are the lowest of the low.

Maybe you should think twice before you open your legs

Is your wife "many"..or just one

You are flying off the handle lately

I tend to do that when people suggest I should be chemically castrated for being born male.

Call it a personality flaw.

TheRedneck

Not sure how you got that from marg's post?

Anyway, whatever!

How about you trade, gun laws for abortion laws.

Everybody wins, and everybody loses, but at least you get something that you want.

This is the type of compromise I am talking about. It would be recognizing unenumerated rights, while preserving a clearly enumerated right. Anything to strengthen it.

Yes, many will argue abortion is not a right and I do not disagree that it is not enumerated in the Constitution. But the concept of unenumerated rights is sound, the BOR itself was clearly just to provide "additional" protection against those rights as enumerated. An extra layer of protection

The left and right both have a vested interest in removing the mechanism each side uses to impose its will on the other. Instead of fighting each other, we could make the government shoulder the burden entirely by dissolving it, as is our right to do

When did we switch from contraception back to abortion? Think you could pick an issue?

You claimed that contraception would become illegal. I said no, because people could order contraceptives. Now you want to say they can't order abortion pills.

Do you need a map?

They can order abortion pills too.
I'm just wondering where your line is when it comes to advising women to break the law.

This is the first time in SCOTUS history where a draft was leaked. An law enforcement investigation into how it was leaked and who leaked it is underway.

My guess it was done by one of the liberal justices or the chief justice.

If its a justice then they need to be impeached / removed from the bench.
