Democrats politicians are already calling for people to riot and (probably) kill people.

Way to go lefties!

Linkster Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) called for millions to “stand up and make their voices heard” over the leaked draft Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

“An extremist Supreme Court is poised to overturn #RoeVWade and impose its far-right, unpopular views on the entire country. It’s time for the millions who support the Constitution and abortion rights to stand up and make their voices heard. We’re not going back — not ever,” she tweeted.

Yeah our legal history for this country is interesting. As an example the US Constitution never applied to the states. It only applied to federal employees and D.C.. The founding fathers thought the states should do the wall to wall governing with a strong but extremely specific Federal government - raise/levy taxes, coin currency, national defense, foreign relations.

Barron v. Mayor & City Council of Baltimore, 32 U.S. 243 (1833)
A guy actually filed a lawsuit back in 1833 accusing the state of Maryland of violating his federal rights (it had to do with the guys business and the state making changes to a waterway that essentially destroyed his business. It made it to the US Supreme Court, where the guy lost. That ruling by scotus reaffirmed the concept that the federal constitution did not apply to the states / citizens of the states and set the standard for Constitutional Law.

It was not until 1868, with the adoption of the 14th amendment, did the Federal Constitutions apply to the states and its citizens. The Supreme Court had a case challenging to 14th amendment because when it was drafted the intent was to only apply it to the states that rebelled. Scotus had to grasp with the concept of the constitution applying to some but not everyone. So scotus decided it applied to all states, shifting power to the Federal government to balance out states rights.

It is also why Scotus is hesitant to take gun cases. The states had their own laws for a hundred years dealing with guns with no federal interference.. The 14th amendment and scotus ruling changed that.

That's how to debate a position.

Threaten death.

Didn't the J6 protesters construct a gallows outside the Capitol and chant "Hang Pence?"

Warren is unhinged, like most of these hysterical Liberals.
I can’t find it now but I saw a clip of her earlier screeching her nonsense about this.
I thought her head was going to explode.

Wouldn't it be funny if Elon Musk just outright banned her from Twitter.

Really? What evidence?

My Republican boss when I'm a media geek during GOP campaigns. He knows things...

Oh thats the bar for sources?

I know a guy that said it was leaked from the hollow moon based off metadata......

I don't know what the bar is set at but right wingers are already accusing the lib court interns and underling attorneys. What evidence do you offer.

Outside of my hollow moon friend?

None, only opinon based on proximity to documents.

The quick mobilization of protestors and fences.
Etc.

I just saw this. For anyone who is concerned that SCOTUS will become a fascist dictatorship and make segregation legal in schools, end gay marriage and inter-racial marraige and all rights as we know it Justice Alitio in the opinion draft anticipated this by writing this:

“To ensure that our decision is not misunderstood or
mischaracterized , we emphasize that our decision concerns the constitutional right to abortion and no other right”

www.politico.com...

The link above has the whole draft and SCOTUS today has said it’s authentic. I hope this puts to rest these scare tactics by the left and MSM

Leaked at just the right time. More turmoil to divide us was needed to take the heat off of Biden.

No offense given, I am pro abortion and that is that, if somebody does not like it that is their problem.

Leftists used to be "pro choice". "Safe legal and rare". (Remember that?) Now it's "pro abortion". So you're pro murder for whatever reason, and that makes you a sick human being. You won't change my opinion on that. If you don't like it, that's your problem.

Guess us females better start practicing, "Under his eye" and "May the Lord open". All fun and games until they ban reading for us too.

Am I missing a law that's in place regarding a man's reproductive system and what he can do with it?

I don’t think there is such a law. Just let men be in charge of your body! Go cook!
/sarc

This is mad! This is wrong!
I can’t understand why those that are “pro-life” just can’t ban abortion for themselves, and not dictate what a woman can or cannot do.

Ummm. . . maybe it's because we see abortion as the deliberate, intentional killing of an unborn human.

And some of us are against that.

Just because some of you are against something is not a good enough reason. Some people are against guns, that’s not a good enough reason to ban them.
Some people may not think as you do. Issues such as ‘is there a heartbeat?’ or viability may not carry the same weight between two people. As far as god being a factor, some people are fine with this reality without all the invisible person gobbledygook.

I personally routinely suggest people ignore blatantly unconstitutional laws. The people who write those laws are fundamentally unimpressive (most all of them, not just the D's..R's are worthless mostly too) and face no consequence for treading on our rights

If you can safely ignore them and get away with it, sometimes that is the best answer. Until someone comes along and fixes it, why should your rights be harmed? Why should you shoulder the burden of their mistake? Civil disobedience.

In the face of unjust laws passed by people who can barely claim legitimacy I don't blame anyone for doing what they have to do

Its a damn shame to ever have to do that. To take an otherwise law abiding person and force them into the government's very irrelevant definition of a criminal is shameful. History will not look kindly upon them, especially since they lost the monopoly on truth

Indeed. Mostly agree with this. Legislating religious values is wrong.

Is that what is being done here, though? Or was Roe a flawed decision? RBG said as much. Based on the wrong premise, instead of equal protection under the law.

Congress has had ample time to fix this. Decades! Why haven't they acted? They blab on every election cycle, but no action. Whether super majority or not.

IRL, states will do what our states have done for awhile. Sanctuary against XYZ. Don't like federal gun laws? Don't enforce them. Criminalize their enforcement, even. How about immigration laws? Or what if a federal law banning abortion were passed? Pass your own state law making it a felony to enforce any federal law. Make it about state's rights and you could easily get a SCOTUS victory, but often, civil disobedience (Refusing to follow or enforce a terrible law) is all it takes.

Prohibition was killed off by people simply ignoring it
All forms of prohibition are abject failures

It comes down to this.. how much do you care? Because if a state cares enough, it could mobilize forces loyal to it in a number of ways to reject the federal government. Likely other states would come to its defense. National guard is no joke, neither is the heavily militarized police most states have at their disposal and the sheer number of armed citizens who would smile if such a request were to be made. Compared to the very limited number of federal agents? Not a prayer

If the government threatened a US state and they called for help? I would go in a heartbeat. Don't care what the cause is, I'm there.

and Dems are not wasting any time in lying and spinning the opinion as a ruling or a draft ruling to incite people.
