Comment on Russian airborne forces. Their employment in Ukraine is somewhat reminiscent of the experience of the Allied airborne forces in MARKET-GARDEN. Not the experience of an airborne division cut off behind enemy lines, but the follow on battles that saw the U.S. 82d and 101st Airborne Divisions committed to months of combat in the Nijmegen salient. After the drop, those two divisions saw months of conventional infantry warfare, and by the end of those battles, both divisions had taken such serious losses that they were not further used for airborne assaults during the war. They were thereafter employed as regular infantry and probably seen as "shock troops" by the U.S. commanders to which they were subordinated.

Likewise, it will take an extended period of rest and refit (probably years) for Russia to rebuild its airborne forces.

Nearly five months into its senseless war against Ukraine, Russia has concocted a wild new explanation for why the Kremlin’s plans for a quick takeover fell apart so spectacularly—because Ukrainian troops were turned into superhuman killing machines during “secret experiments” in American-run biolabs, of course.

Never mind the myriad reports of Russian troops refusing to fight by the thousands, sabotaging their own shoddy equipment and even deliberately wounding themselves to abandon the war, Russian lawmakers claim the real setback for Moscow was “drugged up” Ukrainian soldiers.

You already posted that link. I read it the first time even with a title that starts with "Russia says it is losing"

That tells you a lot about the type of "journalist" writing the article already.

If you refuse to believe that Ukrainian Soldiers, mostly the militias and those attached to them from what I gathered wouldn't take Captagon to give them an edge because a Yahoo article says it is a conspiracy theory then so be it.

I think I saw them say that rumors that the fourth covid booster shot being a waste is also a conspiracy theory.

I am sure you already got yours already since by your standards they thoroughly debunked it.

But Russia is committing war crimes. This is well documented and being constantly documented and observed by third parties. Russia has been committing crimes since the annexation of Crimea, where the local population have been abused and brutalised.

I see the term war crimes get thrown around so much on here and on the news it has lost a lot of meaning.

It is becoming like the term "racist." So, you need to be a lot more specific in what the accusation really is and not just a statement of "it is well documented."

What is the actual claim and documented by who?

In Ukraine the situation is very slow paced. It can take years just to take a small town by either side. Americans and Canadians will have trouble following and understanding warfare in Eastern Slavic countries like Ukraine and Russia. They have all these things like "cut the road' and "high ground" and "fire control" and stuffs like that. If it were Americans and Canadians they probably just go full Iraqi highway of death with air power. So basically, Americans and Canadians will be bored to death by Ukraine war.

Well, I think most people would think the term "war crime" has meaning. Certainly, it's a term that is well understood by international law and precedent.

Those who think war crimes don't happen, or are irrelevant, probably have not seen the results of a fifteen-year-old girl gang raped and tortured to death by Russian troops, or the orphans forced to watch their parents summary execution. These examples, and thousands of others, are documented and being documented.
