Quick question to you X

Do you think Biden sending the rocket units to Ukraine will escalate Russia's response or not?

Is that another subtle nuke threat?

Cuz russia already isn't holding anything else back.

Is Russia gonna run out of weapons?

Seems they're throwing everything they've got -- all at once.

Unfortunately, they'll run out of oil before running out of weapons.

Neither will ever happen.

russia does appear to have a pretty lowish number of willing and able humans though.

Weapons? Depends on the weapons. They already had to shut down 2 plants that made tanks for lack of resources.

The issue Russia has right now is manpower. They already increased the upper age limit to enlist, raising from 40 to 50 years old. Russia is also using criminals from their prison system to fight in Ukraine.

Just a thought -- the way they seem to carpet bomb everything into oblivion.

I hope more refuse to fight.

2 June update

Key Takeaways

* Russian operations to advance on Slovyansk from the southeast of Izyum and west of Lyman continue to make little progress and are unlikely to do so in the coming days, as Russian forces continue to prioritize Severodonetsk at the expense of other axes of advance.

* Russian forces continued assaults against Severodonetsk and Lysychansk in order to claim full control of Luhansk Oblast.

* Russian forces made incremental advances around Avdiivka.

* Ukrainian counteroffensives in northwestern Kherson Oblast pushed Russian forces to the eastern bank of the Inhulets River and will likely continue to disrupt Russian ground lines of communication (GLOCs) along the T2207 highway.

* The Kremlin continued to pursue inconsistent occupational measures in southern Ukraine, indicating both widespread Ukrainian resistance and likely Kremlin indecision on how to integrate occupied territory.

Just so people know and understand. Information from war zones can become confusing as there will no doubt be info released from the players (on both sides) involved that might not necessarily be true.

As such take everything as a possibility and NOT as absolute truth.

The very first casualty in a war is the truth and all warfare is based on deception

Zelensky Aide Claims Big Win in Kherson, Russians Caught With 'Pants Down'

Troops and equipment from a Russian battalion tactical group (BTG) were destroyed by Kyiv's forces fighting a counteroffensive in the southern Kherson region, an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, has said.

Oleksiy Arestovych said that Ukrainian troops capitalized on tactical errors made by Russian forces who were trying to advance near the village of Inhulets by the river of the same name.

He said that Russian forces were about to attack using air defense, tanks and other equipment but coordination from Moscow's military command was conducted "very poorly."

"And our [troops] again caught them with their pants down. I won't say it took place on the night before the offensive, but a very short time before it, when they were in their most vulnerable position," Arestovych told YouTube channel Feygin Live on Thursday, hosted by lawyer and former Russian opposition politician, Mark Feygin.

Arestovych said that Ukrainian forces organized three crossings of the river and created a bridgehead from where they targeted Russian forces, who lost dozens of pieces of equipment and at least a hundred troops. He said that there were Ukrainian losses but the Russian BTG was wiped out.

Kherson was seized by Russian troops early in the war and its liberation would be gradual, according to Arestovych, who said Kyiv's forces would not storm the region's main city.

The Russian Ministry of Defense, which Newsweek contacted for comment, did not mention the Kherson region in its daily update on Thursday although it rarely acknowledges military setbacks.

Arestovych didn't specify when the attack took place. However, his comments chime with those made by the head of the Kherson regional military association, Hennadiy Lahuta, who said on Thursday that Ukrainian forces were progressing in the Kherson region and had "liberated" 20 small towns and villages.

Russian Senator Urges Missile Strikes on U.S. Bases in Europe

ARussian senator has suggested that his country should attack U.S. military bases in Europe in response to the Biden administration's decision to send rocket systems to Ukraine.

Senator Frants Klintsevich told Russian state TV that Russia should "wreck" American bases using the country's "high-precision long-range weapons" after the U.S. announced it will send Ukraine the M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS).

A clip of Klintsevich's remarks was shared by Francis Scarr of BBC Monitoring on Thursday, who monitors Russian state TV. The senator's comments come ahead of the 100th day of the invasion of Ukraine on Friday.

Now the rates for the freight of an LNG tanker for a year are at the highest level in the last decade and amount to $120 thousand per day. This is more than 50% higher than a year ago.

William Moloney, a correspondent for the American edition of The Hill, In his study came to the conclusion that Washington failed to cause significant damage to the Russian economy with the help of sanctions.

“Foreign wars tend to be most popular early on, especially if they are effectively “sold out” to the American public in morally unambiguous terms, but unless they end fairly quickly in a decisive victory achieved at a reasonable cost, public support and political consensus begin to wane. sometimes very quickly. This seems to be happening with the war in Ukraine as well,” he writes.

The article goes on to cite polls that show that in March, more than 60% of Americans were in favor of "the decisive role of the United States in Ukraine", and by mid-May this number fell to about 45%.

The Times editorial board on May 19 declared that Ukraine’s regaining all territory seized by Russia since 2014 “is not a realistic goal. … Russia remains too strong.” Biden should make clear that there are “limits to the arms, money and political support Ukraine can expect,” the Times said. Reinforcing this viewpoint was Henry Kissinger’s speech delivered virtually to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, calling for a ceasefire with a return to “status quo ante.” Extending this dangerous conflict, Kissinger said, risks it becoming “not a war about Ukrainian freedom but a war against Russia itself.”

Simultaneously, the heretofore skimpy and universally negative reporting of Putin’s intentions has begun to morph into a dawning perception that the Russian leader’s strategy of conquering a land bridge to Crimea and gaining a chokehold on the entire Ukrainian economy, via total control of the Black Sea coastline, is not quite as inept as previously reported.

Related to these phenomena is the utter unreality of the war’s foundational myth — namely that the United States has rallied almost the entire world against a nearly totally isolated Russia. In truth, of the world’s 195 countries only 65 have agreed to join the American sanctions regime — meaning that 130 have refused, including China, India, Brazil, Mexico, Indonesia, most of Asia, Africa and Latin America, countries that together constitute the vast majority of the world’s population.

🇷🇺❗️Putin made a number of important statements, including on Ukraine, sanctions and the global food crisis:

▪️Attempts by the West to shift responsibility for food problems to the Russian Federation are ridiculous excuses. Problems in the global food market began in February 2020.
▪️The acceleration of inflation was associated with the ill-conceived actions of the United States to inject funds into the economy, and not with the actions of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.
▪️Russia has absolutely nothing to do with the situation with rising gas prices. The short-sighted policy of the European Commission in the field of energy in recent years is to blame for everything.
▪️New sanctions against the Russian Federation will only worsen the situation on world markets.
▪️Russia does not prevent the export of Ukrainian grain.
▪️There are various possibilities for the export of Ukrainian grain from the port of Berdyansk or the simplest one - through Belarus. But then it is necessary to remove sanctions from Minsk.

' As Invasion Enters 100th Day, Russia Now Holds 20% Of Ukraine: Zelensky "

" As the Russian invasion has entered its 100th day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed that Russian forces are now in control of 20% of Ukraine's territory.

"As of today, about 20% of our territory is under the control of the occupiers, almost 125 thousand square kilometers. This is much larger than the area of all the Benelux countries combined," he said in a virtual address before Luxembourg lawmakers. "

It isn't over yet. Ukraine's ability to turn the tide of battle is pretty much over. They can certainly put up resistance. Maybe even make some pushes to regain territory around Kherson but once the cauldron closes and the UA forces in it surrender or are destroyed then no amount of resistance will matter when they redeploy.

You really shouldnt be amazed the system is designed to be left in remote areas. Nota is a low-end signal jammer they don't need to destroy the antennas they are very basic. The system is designed to be used remotely. The operation console of the system has a unified WEB interface it uses HTTP protocol to allow operators to log into the system through the web. To destroy the unit they simply wipe the console all Russia got were antennas and one very large paperweight. It does have another use however it can be logged in remotely and used for communications it can replace a cell tower if needed. This is why I suspect it was left behind they were probably using it for celular service.

You make sense but I have seen far more sophisticated tech left behind fully intact. From now on I will post it when it happens.

They had captured 6 brand new drones that they said were 500K each, switchblades as well. Then there is an assortment of Communication tech. I am not sure what generation but they were more advanced than what I worked with.

You have to remember that some Battalions have 20-year-old reserve Lts in charge of them because the higher command is dead. Opsec probably isn't very tight in some places. A lot of the fighters were pulled off the streets given 3 days of training and sent to the front.

Of course, you could be right. I am just saying that we can't expect UA forces to be as together as NATO militaries. There are going to be screw ups.

Potus potato pivoted today from his saber rattling against putin a few weeks previous:

"From the beginning, I’ve said and I’ve been — not everyone’s agreed with me — nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine,” Biden began his answer. “It’s their territory. I’m not going to tell them what they should and shouldn’t do.

“But it appears to me that at some point along the line, there’s going to have to be a negotiated settlement here,” the president added. “And what that entails, I don’t know. I don’t think anybody knows at the time. But in the meantime, we’re gonna continue to put the Ukrainians in a position where they can defend themselves.”

Interpret as you will.
