Warships cannot pass through Bosporous. Turkey won't allow it under Montreux Convention.

Russian 203 mm howitzer is currently the most potent howitzer used n Europe and the Americas. Only a few countries like Japan and Russia still use 203 mm howitzers due to their good range and punch.

Russia ready to help overcome food crisis if West lifts sanctions imposed over Ukraine: Putin in call with Draghi

But I was told the sanctions actually made Russia's economy stronger. Why would they want them lifted.

155 mm howitzer has range 30 km (in reality about 10 km for accuracy). 203 mm howitzer has range 40 km (in reality about 14 km for accuracy). Ukrainian 155 mm lack Excalibur which has range 40 km because America don't want Excalibur falling into the hands of Russians the way Switchblade did.

So, so wrong.

So very wrong.

About the 'accuracy' and 'range' of both systems you 'discussed'.

Ukrainians have been dropping first round bullseyes on russian armor with M777 from more than 12 miles (20 km), something that russians have been unable to do from 5 km, or even 2.

Correct that we haven't sent Excalibur rounds yet, but WAY off on why, and ignoring the fact that we could choose to do so at any time we want.

Erdogan is probably hoping to benefit from starvation in the ME somehow, sadly.

It makes a big boom, that part is correct, but has significantly below average range and ridiculously absurd horrible 'accuracy' by Western standards.

That last bit is about about as politely as the differences can be honestly described.

Only russian warships have that problem.

Incorrect. No warship can enter the black sea in time of war, regardless of nationality.

Probably using PGK fuses on the 155 shells. Makes the round very accurate using GPS to guide it. Takes just a few seconds program the fuse electronically. Look it up, it has a weird fin/turbine wheel on the front, nothing I’ve ever seen before. Game changer for the 155 shells.

Only russian warships are involved in the war.

I'm VERY familiar with these rounds, and have been quite pleased with the results so far.

I strongly, very strongly, suspect (practically KNOW) that we are about to send Ukraine a whole lot more of both the guns and the same rounds.

Possibly millions of rounds.

It's difficult to relocate that kind of quantity without being noticed, and it has been 'noticed'.

The sanctions are starting to bite... Even the lunatics on Russian tv keep bitching military equipment and needing to transform their economy into a wartime economy.

There is a reason Russian has had to pull T-62's out of mothball storage,

More importantly though is their manpower shortages.

Kharkiv hit by fresh strikes amid fears city is still on Russian agenda www.theguardian.com...

The largely Russian-speaking city near the border of the two countries was heavily attacked during the first days of the war as Russian forces tried to take control, but they were pushed back to the suburbs. The Russians sent artillery and missiles into the city, on one occasion destroying the regional administration building, housed in a grand Stalin-era structure.

The Russians have been pushed further back over the last six weeks as Ukrainian forces regained control of several towns and villages, but they remain well within artillery range of the city centre.

“For two weeks it’s been relatively quiet … I think this is them saying hello, telling us they are still there"

Rebels are mainly residents of Donbas. Donbas had a population of more than 6 million when war started in 2014.

Are 'rebels' Ukrainian citizens?

Who exactly are they 'rebelling' against?

Russian invasion forces?

Russian forces close to encircling Sievierodonetsk in eastern Ukraine www.theguardian.com...

"The besieged Ukrainian city of Sievierodonetsk appears to be almost completely surrounded by attacking Russian forces, as the Kremlin continued to make incremental gains in its offensive in the Donbas region, backed by withering shell fire.

“The Russians are pounding residential neighbourhoods relentlessly,” regional governor, Serhiy Haidai, wrote in a Telegram post on Friday. “The residents of Sievierodonetsk have forgotten when was the last time there was silence in the city for at least half an hour.”

As the cities of Kharkiv and Dnipro also came under attack, analysts said the main Russian effort appeared still to be focused to the east, while Russian attacks elsewhere appeared to be aimed at consolidating their positions and tying down Ukrainian defenders who could otherwise be redeployed"

I think most by now have Russian citizenship. Nevertheless they are permanent residents of Donbas.

Well, here's a badly-needed reality check:

In Stunning Shift, WaPo Admits Catastrophic-Conditions, Collapsing-Morale Of Ukraine Front-Line Forces

When you strip away the incessant pro-Ukrainian & anti-Russian propaganda, the reality on the ground is the Ukrainian forces are outnumbered, poorly trained, poorly equipped, poorly led, and have very low morale.

Brings Americans revolution vibes when the last of the British were besieged by rebels and French and surrendered.
