Perhaps russia should try hitting it then?

Before it sink the rest of russia's powerful and unstoppable 'navy'.

That should be fun.

Perhaps.

But we have at least 50x more Stingers than russia has drones, and Ukraine has better tools for destroying those drones anyway.

Destroying a russian drone with a Stinger is a little like swatting a fly with a dozen sticks of dynamite.

Stinger has trouble locking on a low heat object like a battery powered drone. It might lock on a low flying Orlan but would struggle against a high flying Orlan.

Ukraine hasn't been able to sink a single cruise missile carrying Russian warship or sub. To do that they need P-3C Orion which carries Harpoon to be able to get in range. Harpoon range 100 to 200 km. Kalibr range 1,000 to 2,000 km.

Which is why they rarely use a sledgehammer to kill a gnat.

They have other much less expensive tools for dealing with orlan, and haven't had much trouble doing so.

moskva and makarov didn't carry cruise missiles?

That's just absurd.

At least one of them probably even had nuclear tipped cruise missiles on board, and both had been used as cruise missile platforms against Ukraine.

Newer Harpoons (I think Ukraine is getting block 1 though) have a range of nearly 200 miles, and Ukraine's only real interest is in keeping these warships at least 100 miles away so it's s300/s400 can't play a role in russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Ukraine has no P3s that I'm aware of, and that isn't the airborne platform that would be used for what you describe anyway. Not even close.

Moskva was a 1980s ship. Lacked land attack missiles.

Perhaps you are unaware of it's multiple major upgrades since it was built?

It had already launched many cruise missiles at Ukraine, mostly at civilian targets in Marioupol and Odessa before Ukraine sunk it.

It was BY FAR the highest tech and most capable surface ship in the russian navy, literally their Black Sea flagship, with the primary responsibility of protecting that entire fleet from air and missile attacks, and secondary responsibility of supporting russia's naval marines with cruise missiles.

makarov's capabilities weren't all that far behind moskva's.

Are you getting this nonsense straight from russian teevee?

I doubt anyone else is feeding you this utter nonsense.

Moskva is replaced by more advanced modern ships like Mercury which has low RCS, long range land attack missiles.

Hilarious!

Russia loses 2 of it's most advanced ships to anti radiation missiles, and russia thinks lower RCS will protect the next one?

Pro Tip: One thing has nothing to do with the other, Ukraine has no naval radar guided missiles, and the slightly reduced RCS of these ships won't even be noticed by a Harpoon (which may be arriving soon) which has been repeatedly tested against boats with 10% of that RCS.

All analysis points to Mercury being far more potent than Moskva. It is much smaller in size, so much smaller RCS. On top of that, it has modern sensor suite giving it excellent situation awareness, and has much more potent CIWS and weapons suite including long range land attack missiles which Moskva lacked.

It has better sensors, I'll give you that, but the rest of that nonsense plays no part in the russian invasion of Ukraine.

Starting with the fact that Ukraine doesn't even have any anti ship missiles where a reduced RCS will provide any benefit at all.

Perhaps you should look up how Neptune and Harpoon actually work.

Not sure what this is about but Belarus may be tempted to invade the border area north of Kiev where ethnic Belarussians is the majority of the population if Ukrainian army is weakened by war in Donbas.

russia has been launching attacks from inside belarus since the first day of the war, and has been applying a LOT of pressure on belarus to help russia get out of the desperate situation it created for itself in Ukraine by supplying belarusian troops.

The belarusian people revolted the last time belarus hinted that it would send belarusian troops to bail out russia from it's disaster in Ukraine, and this revolt included significant acts of military and transportation related 'vandalism' inside belarus, which crippled the belarussian forces and made such further assistance to russia impossible.

Do you think it will turn out any better this time?

Do you not see the humor in a so called 'superpower' and self described '2nd most powerful military on the planet' repeatedly begging tiny belarus for desperately needed military assistance against a backwater like Ukraine (no offense to Ukraine, but they are far from anyone confusing them with any kind of 'superpower')

Perhaps, but Belarus has burned its bridge with Ukraine and there's no going back. Belarus would like some influence on the rebels in the east and south parts of Ukraine. They may be covertly providing military hardware, training, special forces.

As for progress, I think Russia is doing all right. The US fought Serbia for nearly 10 years before it was able to pry Kosovo out of Serbia, and Serbia is far smaller and weaker than Ukraine not to mention landlocked.

Still missing the point?

A supposed 'superpower' is begging for belarus to bail it out of a self created military disaster against tiny Ukraine.

belarus wants nothing except to survive putin's ire, and there is no such thing as 'rebels' as you repeatedly describe Ukrainian forces defending Ukraine from a foreign invasion, it's their country, not russia's.

"Moscow has deployed three propaganda trucks to Russia-occupied Mariupol"

Does anyone know what a 'propaganda truck' is?

Is this what our 'favorite' russian propagandist drives around between his fake videos?

I was also wondering what a “propaganda truck” is. Then I thought that you could probably describe every news van as a propaganda truck 🙂.

They have some trucks with LED-displays on the side, so people can bring a chair and watch Russian TV.
