Wounded to killed ratio in Vietnam was something like 3:1.

It is higher today, but, and this is important, in armies that have the capability to a) treat wounds with first aid within 5 minutes of being wounded; and, b) get the wounded to a surgical team within 20 minutes of being wounded.

One has to draw their own conclusions about the conditions prevailing in the current war. 3:1 would be a good starting point for estimates.

Cheers

The thing about all this mockery.... its not doing anything... its not helping the Ukranians win. And Putin isnt reading our posts and thinking "ah shocks... I look like a fool now... gonna go cry"

So we can amuse ourselves all we like about his loses, bur its not going to make a damn difference. Not to him, not to us...

They re-iterated.... 😐

'Tis the Season for Treason

Colonel Yuri Medvechek, (Russian) commander of the 37th Motor Rifle Brigade, was deliberately run over by his own troops.

Now the colonel has died of his wounds.

As well:

Lieutenant General Yakov Rezantsev, commanding general of the 49th Army, is reported to have fallen in action (seventh Russian general to die in Ukraine).

Cheers

Hell yeah, brother.

IMO...The invading Russian military conscripts in Ukraine, should go all hell bent into fragging more of their military commanders...including Putin himself.

You have to laugh, or else you'll cry. From recent Putin's speeches I conclude: Putin reads Daily Mail.

Sure looks like it's all going to plan for Putin.

Two more senior Russian commanders have been killed - one of them apparently died after being attacked by his own men, a Western official has said. The commanding officer of the 37th Motor Rifle Brigade, a colonel, was deliberately run over by his own troops as a result of the scale of losses taken by his brigade, the official said.

Hahaha, yes ok, point taken.

But I just hoped that people could also see that in the process of mocking him, we risk pushing him over the edge.
This isn't the same as saying it's our responsibility if he pushes a button. But the man is getting desperate and pushed up into a corner.
It would at some point become a natural response to have a violent reaction to what he has put himself through.

And no.... he is not going to be assassinated. How many times was it we tried so far?

Again, if he is mentally unstable, and with the increasingly harsh and public rethoric in Russian channels, there is pretty much only 1 way to save a minimum amount of face.... and that is living up to the threats regardless of the costs.

And then the previous loses in Ukraine wont matter one bit.

So what do you recommend?
Hide underneath a door placed over the bath and wait for the inevitable....or simply give in to Putin's bullying and intimidation?

I prefer having a little giggle to myself at the absurdity of it all....and if it all goes tits up I'd prefer to go with a smile on my face and not crapping my pants!

At the end of the day there is absolutely nothing we can do about it....so bring on the meme's and the piss taking.👍

What was said in that video I think is probably accurate.

Even before seeing that video, I was thinking they would probably use nukes if NATO sent in forces under the guise of peacekeeping. Since Ukraine isn't a member of NATO or EU a Tactical Nuke going off in that country may be overlooked.
By overlooking what I mean is full global nuclear war wouldn't be triggered.

NATO just keeps pushing Russia's limits.

At this point, Russia cannot back down from their stated goal because if they do Ukraine's inclusion into NATO is almost assured if they do. In fact, that was a stated goal of conflict with Russia by Zelenskys advisor Arestovych back in 2019. He even predicted that Russia would invade between 2020 and 2022. When asked if peace or war was preferable he stated "Of course large scale war with Russia and joining NATO as a result of defeat of Russia. The coolest thing."
It really makes me feel like Ukraine was trying to trigger the Russian invasion. I think when Zelensky publicly stated that they could pursue creating nuclear weapons it was the thing that triggered the decision for invasion. I also think that was what they were hoping for. However, I don't think things are going as they planned. They probably thought that NATO would have been drawn into it by now. That is just my opinion.

Not too far off I think.

But Putin seems more volatile now than just some years ago. Ofcourse he's always been paranoid, byproduct of KBG years I guess. But I remember him being a lot more "sensible" or well thought out in his remarks and arguments.

Now he is harsh... his own cabinet openly fears him. Lavrov today is saying the west has declared total war on Russia.

Biden changing doctrines so the US can do first strikes.

This whole show is going to the #ter very fast.

His entire army is a dud. There hasn't been an invasion this disorganized since Mussolini invaded Greece.

Putin is increasingly getting more 'Stalinistic' by the day.

He feels that showing sympathy towards Ukrainian citizens is a sign of weakness. And he also feels that the Ukrainian cities aren't cities anymore.
