From reading FL, one gets the impression of the human centric view when it comes to contact with non-terrestrial intellegences.

There is no reason I can see that makes humanity that important.

Humans are not the only choice here. There are also the Sidhe, Sith, Jinn and others.

One might wonder if "contact" might be first between non humans.

It is only humans whom think this is a human centric world.

You will barely find someone like me. And you put it to waste. So be it.

At times I get the feeling they aren't actually talking about ET contact, but much rather contact with the others.
For somone like you that might be ridiculous to compare the two, but for many there is no other way to look at a contact with the others, than assuming ET.
Fairytales don't cut it anymore, if you are fixed on the appearance of things.
Surely if you look beyond and see the threads that weave a story, and read the meta language you'd find there are lots of parallels that just accompany our history, always woven into a tale according to the current zeitgeist...

Not many do and the discourse is becoming much broader again.
Lately it seems the phenomenon is getting stronger and the discourse is flaming up in public under a new ET narrative.

In order to have a discussion about it, with someone who isn't looking beyond, you could addapt your tale to the current narrative...

FL translates into computer science and delivers that. Superintellegences as AIs and everything is a product of quantum tangled physics.

Maybe science is simply the face of today's zeitgeist.

Still, the human centric view does keep us focused on ourselves.

If I were an alien I would not land on the White House front lawn. I would do it through random folks spread randomly across the world, and lots of them, all at once.

Now what if it is the Sidhe of Ireland that made contact with the "machines" Denebians or Giselians? Assuming they are ETs.

What if that is as far as contact went to decide earth's future, and humans were left out of the decision process altogether?

I think the human centric view tends towards our ignoring a bigger picture where it might not be only humans and one or two ETs. Maybe there are more. What is said to be deep in the oceans for example.
