When the SHTF, I will be laughing when all your higher morality gets thrown out the window when you are scrambling to survive.....just like the rest of us. Wonder how the concept of spreading the wealth will go over in that situation?

Yes, you are right it was Hale-Bopp and thanks for the correction. Same concept though right? It was a spaceship where people thought they could get off planet earth where everything is so horrible. Truly I should have googled it before posting, but of course as I have said, I do make mistakes I was totally right about the concept and I did hear it on the Art Bell show in oh say around 2000.

This has been attempted before. Remember the Roman Empire? Guess how that ended.

It is very simple to understand this:

We currently cannot have a One World Government unless everyone on the planet accepts the same standard of living. Seeing as how we have people still living in mud huts and carrying baskets on their heads while other countries have been to the moon, you can see how with that wide of a gap the middle ground is too far of a leap for both sides to make.

At this stage of human evolution a one world government will not work. Maybe if someone could go back in time and stop the churches from retarding civilization we would be ready by now......

Reality sucks, all we can do at this point is wish.....

I am almost 100 % positive Electricuniverse knows what he/she is talking about, and as I said you can have the testimony of many who have come to America escaping the perils of communism in other countries, who know the horrors of it, the gulags, the death, the destruction, the rides in cattle cars to unkown destinations with just a peephole for vent and peeing in the bottom of the cars, little or no fresh food and water, being sent to siberia as punishments, being told where you can work. These are things that those who espouse a One World Govt are simply not aware of, or naively think it somehow won't be that way.
Even if you envision a world where everybody loves one another and are taking care of their brothers and sisters, if we are not doing it without a One World Govt we will never do it with one either.

Yes, you are correct, it was hale-bopp. But, the concept of "heaven's gate" and the one I proposed are completely different.

After, all heaven's gate was waiting for a spaceship manned by aliens, following hale-bopp to beam them up, and what I suggested is, if people like that other poster are tired of hearing from idealists and dreamers like me and want to give us our own nation to get rid of us, even if it was in a facetious manner, it would actually be better to help people like us build or own self contained spaceships, so we can get away from the earth, and therefore never have to bother humanity again with our pesky opinions and ideals.

Of course I am sure you can see the great, difference between those two ideas, one sitting around awaiting saviors to pull you off the earth and the other, proactively seeking to get ourselves off the earth thereby saving ourselves.

Anyway, I wasn't really serious about it in the first place, because the lazy masses can't bother to spare us a country of our own or a way of the earth either, so until then dreamers like me are stuck with the rest of you, so you will just have to bare our idealistic opinions and ideals or, you could just simply ignore me, much like you did the post where I pointed out that, if you use the logic that past examples of failed nations, mean the ideas the nation was founded on, can never work, then the current growing failure of the United States, means we should throw out the ideas of capitalism and the constitution as well.

NO offense intended but I'm not sure we have much of a constitution any more, thanks in part to the patriot act that was write by some one with dual citizenship, and we have a president with phoney selective service paper, draft paper, and a phoney birth certificate.
