You can bet that scene is going to continue to reverberate.

No, it is not. nothing at all will come of it, except some silly protestors have learnt not to block paths, and they should move when told

Good chance the people getting sprayed are vegan.
Pepper is an herb so it can almost be considered a vegetable,..

So what's the problem?

The problem may be yours, because lines are being drawn, but you can't see it.

I fear for you and the likes of you, my heart goes out to you, but it can only extend so far, and then it sees the line drawn between us, and that's why I fear for you.

I am as disgusted with people like you for your ignorance and apathy as I am with the pig that sprayed peaceful protesters.

The Police was simply showing and demonstrating to the people how they will be treating and forcing the people in the later future when they will enforce there new totalitarian law! "The New World Order."
If some of you think that the people had no rite to protest and that they should have just got-up and moved on with there lives, well that is pretty hard when you are living in a world that is governed by a bunch of P&!CK$. . . .

Honestly, think to yourselves if you are at home minding your own business and your door busts open and a group of soldiers "World Police," force there way inside of your home, killing some family members, raping your woman and arresting you and then taking you forcefully, into a dentition center where you will be placed and maybe even killed or murdered by these police!

You think that they will care about humanitarian laws, "NO," it's all about them and there new Satanic order of chaos!
Wake up, it is that time, that you all start waking the "F@$CK UP!"
Because the new world order is being planed for you, and they shall force it upon you, when you least expect it, "when you feel peace and security!"

For you who are ignorant, the same way that the protesters did nothing about protecting themselves while getting sprayed, will be exactly the same thing that you people will do when the time comes, and believe me or don't it is coming sooner than you think! (You Will Do Nothing!)
"You will be like cattle taken to the slaughter!"

This is good stuff.
Powerful. I hope it becomes a signatory tactic by Occupy. Imagine the police coming to clear them out and meeting several thousand completely silent people staring them down. That silence is totally neutral, but it seems so much more threatening than the yelling. Very ominous.

Let's push it. Occupy should enter the "they know what they did" phase. Massive silent protests.

I guess that was a joke. Too off the mark to be funny though. What would make you think that all the protesters are vegans? What would make you think any of them are?

you mean they would stop with the stupid everyone repeating what someone said?

That would be good news!

Thanks so much for posting that. Very powerful indeed. The ending of Hitchcock's "The Birds" came to mind. Tiptoeing through all those birds...I hope that's how she felt.

Yeah, the first time I saw this video, I thought, "Why doesn't someone jump out of the crowd and knock that cop down?!" Because I had a visceral response of wanting to do just that. But the more I think about it, the more impressed I am by the students' restraint. They were even more restrained when the UC Davis chancellor left a news conference at night and was surrounded by a thousand completely silent people taking photos of her, two thousand eyes staring at her as she took her perp walk, her walk of shame for ordering this crime. And I imagine that people will surround her again, and again, until she resigns, which is really the only responsible thing she can do at this point.

The whole nation is watching this and there are already petitions online demanding the resignation of Chancellor Linda P. B. Katehi. If you're outraged by this video, please sign the petition -- take action!

Alternate view of the same incident.

P.S. There are validated reports of some students having their mouths filled with pepper spray when being arrested.

This is big news on the MSM.

F'ing RIGHT! Fantastic!

Way to go kids, and the way they conducted that silent protest? Uneblievable - that too will get media attention, given how big this story's gotten today.

What a good day for the movement of the movement, not just OWS, but the movement of the human heart. Well done!

This made my night, the way this turned out. Perfect!

On the front page of CNN - all the media are reporting this now. The Internet MADE it real big in a hurry.

Welcome cops, to the noosphere. It's a new day! Screw you. We got you!

Police have forgotten that their job is to PROTECT citizens, not harm them. What happened to the good ole days when we could go to them for help? I hope they open their eyes one day

Lt. Pike has received a salary in excess of $100,000 from the people of California each of the last three years. More than 40% of his 2010 salary came from student fees.

I wouldn't be too happy about this if I were the parent of a UC Davis student. I imagine the fall out monetarily for the university will simply be staggering, not to mention the legal repercussions to the police.

Sorry the protest is of a function form and not manufactured for entertainment like the news you watch.
The system they use with the "human mic" is a clever, useful system. They don't do it for no reason. They need to do it and it works.
Don't like it, don't watch. It's meant to be participated in not observed as reality t.v. by people too afraid or too lazy to make a stand in their lives.

"This gives the police the upper hand so they will not get hurt."

Great. It's "reasoning" like this that led to Nazi Germany and every other violent dictatorial regime. With all due respect, it is excuses like this that make police states and martial law not only a frightening possibility, but a reality. .
