Hey, Good name!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WE THE PEOPLE

Sounds better than Occupy Wall Street because OWS goes a lot deeper and the name doesn't exactly express the total reason behind the 99% getting fed up with all the BS and corruption.

Watch the police taking their clubs and battering into the protesters stomachs (spleen, ribs, etc).........the protesters didn't start to hit them, the cops started hitting the protesters.

It's going to escalate, the protesters are going to start to fight back and than the SWHTF.

I thought peaceful protest was an American Right??????

To my mind this video shows the police attacking first.

The students didn't even fight back............that is going to change as this escalates.

People with guts are going to get real tired of being attacked.

These are not "good cops".

There again, it was an issue of authority. It's not too late.

I'm here in Canada, just a regular guy, an exectuve recruiter in my vocation.

If I was an American - right about now I'd be thinking of quitting my job for a while and getting arrested a few times in non-violent civil disobediance, and I'm not the type of person who would ordinarily do such a thing, since Civilty is my motto, as an expression of mutuality, and mutual well being.

Here, if I were an American I would do it, in the name of Civility, and reclaim my authority over the system, and if possible I would inspire others to do the same, provided it's non-violent, in the spirit of Ghandi. I would also do it as a true Christian.

There are times when such things become neccessary. Now is one of those times.

I have not seen a more MOTIVATING video in my life. Those vids will bring about a social revolution and transformation.

I hope it generates a WAVE of new protests. I think it will when people see it. You just can't sit on the sidelines forever, sometimes you have to put your body where your keyboard was.

SPREAD IT and if you head out to get arrested, if you are that courageous, then take a sign with you, and a video camera, maybe you'll get lucky and get sprayed or beaten bloody in the process, and it the new movement, will be born...!

You can do it, whoever you are. I'm here in Canada, but I'm thinking as if I was an American, and right about now, I'd be thinking about doing something, but doing it right, in the spirit of Ghandi and MLK.

It's time, the time has come.

There is nothing more powerful than an idea who's time has come.

Why does the government not want us to have a voice?

Because "We The People" no longer count, we have no say................we are no longer a free country.

NO!

We must NOT retaliate AT ALL - just record on video getting beaten, sprayed, arrested, whatever.

DO NOT RETALIATE - just record, and disseminate - USE the social media we have access to to our full advantage.

That's what THEY want, to justify a serious crackdown, for us to "fight back".

NO. Instead, let us HUMILIATE THEM and the system they serve with their violent acts against US, seen by one and all, that's how to go about it, NOT to attack back or fight back - just take those clubs and fists one after another after another, like Ghandi and his people did to overthrow the rule and authority of a kingdom - they did it, without violence, that's the key, we've got to outsmart them here, and now is the time.

We can WIN this thing! Capture the hearts and minds of ONE ENTIRE GENERATION, and there it is!

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing

You are right, the first time one of these protesters fights back he/she will end up either being beaten up or worse.

I've already seen videos of many protesters with bloody heads.............no cops though????

Many ATSers will use the argument, "Oh but he/she is blocking my way to work"..............wait, once the system starts in on them and outsources their job, or screws over them, their tune will change.

The ones that poo poo your post just don't see it coming at them yet.

Human empathy is at a all time low................those that still are riding high just don't think this is corrupt government is going to affect them or theirs.

A greedy bully will not stop because they can never have enough power or money.

Eventually when the 1%'s policies affect the ones that poo poo your post, they will wake up.

Most people simply don't care until TSH their fan.

The ATSers against OWS just don't see the train has them scheduled next.

HOLY SHIIIIIT!!! That is highly MOTIVATING! Makes you want to come out in VAST numbers and completely and utterly overwhelm them, not the hurt the cops, as we must remain NON-VIOLENT, but to WIN! This is crazy, horrible and SICK! Disgusting! It's time to go Ghandi on them, just like those kids were doing, and line up and take the billy clubs one after another, after another, after another, forever if need be. That video is the kind of #t which will start a social REVOLUTION, which appears to have already begun. Thanks for sharing this, very important.

Yes we feed on the violence refer to my sig , think of it as a sadist masochistic relationship with us vs the cops

That's why they are growing more desperate by the hour "the police" and handlers. They are nothing but dogs serving master. Lobbyists write the laws. All they know is oppression and subterfuge. They did not anticipate this potential uprising, they figured enough fluoridation of the water and propaganda media partisan machine networks programming and numbing the minds of the masses would keep the sheep asleep. While playing Masters of the Universe they came to think of themselves as demigods. They like the sheep have grown just as out of touch with reality in doing so losing their humanity resulted in no longer understanding humanity.

This will be what i believe as the Achilles heel, you have to think like your enemy to beat your enemy. They are aristocrats, they have everything spoon fed to them. In the trenches of battle they would die quickly, that is why they sent our sons to fight their worthless wars not their own. They depend entirely on technology and others to do simple tasks for them. Heck i doubt most of them know how to make a pitcher of kool aid. They depend entirely on us but without control they will fade in to obscurity and die like a leech without a host.

That is why they think a police state doing thy bidding will be beneficial for them. Thinning the masses of OWS will cause dissent. They think revolution will not repeat itself here, they think they can beat it this time because they are so full of themselves. This incident and other many police brutality occurring at OWS is making it;s rounds. The media has to address it now after they tried to ignore it but they soon understood that in doing so the mass protests occurring and ignoring it would get more people driving by said protest to start to suspect something. However the media will use it to try and spin it oi course but it wont work. No not any more. The controllers think they got it right this time, their perfect scam worked, they will beat history this time..or so they wanted to think. They are narcissists and they have a weakness... underestimating us.

What happens next may surprise us all, I do believe and have faith that we are seeing a mass awakening. OWS original purpose may fall short and is now apparently causing people to question everything. That in itself is more powerful then some legislation being passed. The potential of this is HUGE! Maced students martyrs of sorts, part of something on a grander scale only to backfire on the power lords. They will fail again just like their forefathers empires before.

When it does Anonymous has a huge surprise for big brother

We will pull the rug out from under neath them all

I just graduated from UC Davis, got an email from the chancellor:

Dear Member of the UC Davis Community,

Yesterday was not a day that would make anyone on our campus proud; indeed the events of the day need to guide us forward as we try to make our campus a better place of inquiry, debate, and even dissent. As I described in my previous letter to the community, this past week our campus was a site of week-long peaceful demonstrations during which students were able to express their concerns about many issues facing higher education, the University of California, our campus, our nation, and the world as a whole. Those events involved multiple rallies in the Quad and an occupation of Mrak Hall which ended peacefully a day later.

However, the events on Friday were a major deviation from that trend. In the aftermath of the troubling events we experienced, I will attempt to provide a summary of the incident with the information now available to me.

After a week of peaceful exchange and debate, on Thursday a group of protestors including UC Davis students and other non-UC Davis affiliated individuals established an encampment of about 25 tents on the Quad. The group was reminded that while the university provides an environment for students to participate in rallies and express their concerns and frustrations through different forums, university policy does not allow such encampments on university grounds.

On Thursday, the group stayed overnight despite repeated reminders by university staff that their encampment violated university policies and they were requested to disperse. On Friday morning, the protestors were provided with a letter explaining university policies and reminding them of the opportunities the university provides for expression. Driven by our concern for the safety and health of the students involved in the protest, as well as other students on our campus, I made the decision not to allow encampments on the Quad during the weekend, when the general campus facilities are locked and the university staff is not widely available to provide support.

During the early afternoon hours and because of the request to take down the tents, many students decided to dismantle their tents, a decision for which we are very thankful. However, a group of students and non-campus affiliates decided to stay. The university police then came to dismantle the encampment. The events of this intervention have been videotaped and widely distributed. As indicated in various videos, the police used pepper spray against the students who were blocking the way. The use of pepper spray as shown on the video is chilling to us all and raises many questions about how best to handle situations like this.

To this effect, I am forming a task force made of faculty, students and staff to review the events and provide to me a thorough report within 90 days. As part of this, a process will be designed that allows members of the community to express their views on this matter. This report will help inform our policies and processes within the university administration and the Police Department to help us avoid similar outcomes in the future. While the university is trying to ensure the safety and health of all members of our community, we must ensure our strategies to gain compliance are fair and reasonable and do not lead to mistreatment.

Furthermore, I am asking the office of Administrative and Resource Management and the office of Student Affairs to review our policies in relation to encampments of this nature and consider whether our existing policies reflect the needs of the students at this point in time. If our policies do not allow our students enough flexibility to express themselves, then we need to find a way to improve these policies and make them more effective and appropriate.

Our campus is committed to providing a safe environment for all to learn freely and practice their civil rights of freedom of speech and expression. At the same time, our campus has the responsibility to ensure the safety of all others who use the same spaces and rely on the same facilities, tools, environments and processes to practice their freedoms to work and study. While the university has the responsibility to develop the appropriate environments that ensure the practice of these freedoms, by no means should we allow a repeated violation of these rules as an expression of personal freedom.

Through this letter, I express my sadness for the events of past Friday and my commitment to redouble our efforts to improve our campus and the environment for our students.

Sincerely,

Linda P.B. Katehi

Obviously you have not taken the time to actually read through this thread. We have been subjected to this Bitches excuse for allowing those she should be PROTECTING to be abused...and then voicing some weak response.

Most of them are cowards and spinless jellyfish, wimps who stand for nothing and who DO nothing except sit on the sidelines or in the stands stuffing their face with popcorn and, while bemoaning the sins of the nation, at the same time calling those with the courage to take action on their behalf nothing more than rif raf and low lifes - how pathetic!

It would be funny, it wasn't so sad.

Genius! Brilliant post. You "grok", you understand that you (WE THE PEOPLE) have the power and the authority!

I salute you "Uknown Soldier"!

Go lead. You understand the nature of the psychology of the situation here, and what's really in play. Good for you man!

IDEA: If we can induce the cops, on camera, to beat us, or to become violent, but do NOTHING in response, and get the videos out on the net, then that is an infinitely powerful form of propaganda and hey we've got to fight fire with fire, except infinitely smarter and more intelligent and well thought out. We also have infinite genius on OUR side, something the elite most certainly do NOT possess, and so, WE THE PEOPLE have them by the knickers already! Already they do not know what to do, or how to do it. Already their idiocy and lunacy is apparent! We've got them on the run! This is good very good news, imho.

OWSers will b!tc# about anything if they have the opportunity to do so! They were told to leave by the authorities but didn’t. I’m sure the officers were getting frustrated because the cry baby protesters wouldn’t leave. Am curious if the officers gave the protesters a warning that they would be sprayed if they didn’t leave? I’m sure they did, but OWSers left that part out of the story. Now here you are on ATS screaming….”Look, Look, Look EVERYBODY! Watch the video! That cop just sprayed those innocent people protesting”! Maybe you can say that there were a couple babies and a few mentally disabled women that were in the crowd that got pepper sprayed as well? This is just another attempt by OWSers creating their own story to make the cops look bad. The police should have come in with water hoses and sprayed them off the street! Of course after everything was said and done, the protesters would have told everyone that they got water boarded. This is nothing new. Just another story twisted around to make everyone else look bad but the protesters. Next story please….

I saw that. That cop sprayed those kids like he was spraying pestcide on weeds at his house on a weekend. Every time they do this and it is caught on tape and presented to Americans they will more and more expose the truth of what OWS is all about. That the people are no longer in control of their government and the police are being used to try and prevent that message from getting out. So keep it up OWS and you too police. Everyday that goes by you reveal your true loyalties by going "riot control" on peacefully assembled sitting down even, students even, dissenters.

I followed the path of violence all my life and accomplished nothing, was quite good at causing damage and bodily harm to others. And then realized that there is a even more powerful discipline.

When Jesus said to turn the other cheek i was like "never no way fight back" but i did not understand what he meant until i followed Gandhi's ideological genius that i realized i was still fighting back. Or like our saying goes "U RAGE I WIN"

Yeah, it will hit them too. There is no stability in this country. The recession, though I think officially declared over, is far from over. Eventually it will effect us all or someone we are close to. I have a feeling all of these people against the protests will soon have to reevaluate when they learn they have a son or daughter, mother or father, or friend that has decided to take to the street corner. It's not going to fade away because nothing is changing for the better. Winter will be interesting, and after that, if nothing has changed things will really pick up in spring and we will see how far this thing really goes. I think we will eventually see cops switching sides.

Thank you (and everyone else) for the reply. This thread has grown a lot over night so I am going back like 5 pages and starting there.

Also if anyone has any info on if the cop was disciplined or even just addressed in the news it would be much appreciated.

Heh, there's more to "turn the other cheek" than that but you've got the right idea the right understanding.

Jesus was addressing the oppressed and downtrodden, who were being abused by Roman Imperial occupation, along with the Roman corruption of the temple, who was employing a tax collection system of usury to bleed Jesus' people dry, and they were all losing their land, and found themselves falling into indentured servitude!

"Turn the other cheek" was included with "Go the extra mile" and "If they ask for your tunic, give them your cloak as well."

But what this actually MEANS, in the context within which the teaching was given, is this!

The Roman soldiers would abuse their power often, and in relation to Jesus' community, there would be encounters with them.

For example, the roman soldiers (cops) would often, while mounted on a horse, offer a backhand blow when they were addressing you or accosting you, and "turning the other cheek" is the act of bravery of presenting them with a full on facial blow, and shaming them for having hit you in the first place. It doesn't mean what we've taken it to mean in modern times.

Likewise, "If they ask you to go a mile, go an extra mile with him" refers to the demand to carry their shiit, where a whole MILE would be rather excessive, and thus, offering to go ANOTHER MILE will produce the same effect.

Finally, "If they ask for your tunic, give them your cloak as well" involves stripping down to your underwear when they ask for your coat, once again producing the same result.

These addages of Jesus were surely presented with great mirth and were recieved with uproarious laughter and applause!

Makes a little more sense now eh, and it's amuzing! Thank you Jesus, and Ghandi for copying you. Well done, and once again the time has come when the money changers are in the temple, the whole system corrupt, and the people rendered as a lessor entity in relation to the "ruling elite" class.

Remember to, that Jesus was teaching these things to the oppressed and downtrodden of his society, in the face of an empire, which eventually had to relieve him of his authority, to rule again and rule the world for over a thousand years. Now THAT's POWER, Big Time!

His authority is with us, with you who resist a corrupt empire. They've lost and are fast losing their authority. Therefore, these minor laws can be broken in non-violent, Civil disobediance, since the courts authority to make laws is by the right of the consent of the people. It's an issue of authority and theft of and abuse of authority, and it's time we take it back in their face, while embarassing them wherever possible.

Jesus understood what was at stake. In part his "kingdom of heaven" was a way of differentiating realty and truth and life as it is, from the oppressive temporal power "kingdom" of assholes in uniform.
