A TSUNAMI HAS BEEN GENERATED THAT COULD CAUSE DAMAGE ALONG
COASTLINES OF ALL ISLANDS IN THE STATE OF HAWAII. URGENT ACTION
SHOULD BE TAKEN TO PROTECT LIVES AND PROPERTY.
A TSUNAMI IS A SERIES OF LONG OCEAN WAVES. EACH INDIVIDUAL WAVE
CREST CAN LAST 5 TO 15 MINUTES OR MORE AND EXTENSIVELY FLOOD
COASTAL AREAS. THE DANGER CAN CONTINUE FOR MANY HOURS AFTER THE
INITIAL WAVE AS SUBSEQUENT WAVES ARRIVE. TSUNAMI WAVE HEIGHTS
CANNOT BE PREDICTED AND THE FIRST WAVE MAY NOT BE THE LARGEST.
TSUNAMI WAVES EFFICIENTLY WRAP AROUND ISLANDS. ALL SHORES ARE AT
RISK NO MATTER WHICH DIRECTION THEY FACE. THE TROUGH OF A TSUNAMI
WAVE MAY TEMPORARILY EXPOSE THE SEAFLOOR BUT THE AREA WILL
QUICKLY FLOOD AGAIN. EXTREMELY STRONG AND UNUSUAL NEARSHORE
CURRENTS CAN ACCOMPANY A TSUNAMI. DEBRIS PICKED UP AND CARRIED
BY A TSUNAMI AMPLIFIES ITS DESTRUCTIVE POWER. SIMULTANEOUS HIGH
TIDES OR HIGH SURF CAN SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASE THE TSUNAMI HAZARD.

This is horrible. I woke up just as it hit and my phone started giving me alerts. First time I have ever called my parents from college at 2am. God bless all of the people who will be effected by this, my prayers are with you. I just hope the west coast doesn't get hit, but there will be places hit other than japan for sure.

Just issued a tsunami WARNING for hawaii... Wow.. Watchin the wave sweep in carrying homes and cars leaves me speechless. It is moving fast too. Godspeed to all affected by this sucker punch..

My thoughts as well. Tens of thousands lost their lives just now, and it was all caught on video. Strange days indeed.

This could well end up affecting the west coast of the US. It is definitely within the realm of possibilities. There should be more on anything like that within the next few hours. But LA, Seattle, Portland all might want to watch out.

Wow. That could explain the fish kill that happened prior to this quake, maybe?

Yup, all stations in Hawai'i just put out the alert, tsunami expected to arrive around 3:20 AM.

NWS estimated it at 8.8. That's monstrous.

I stand by what I said though.
This is very surreal and reminds me of the movie 2012.
These scenes that I am watching, I have seen before.
Several times.
In movies.
Now that it is real, I have to keep reminding myself that this is real life.
It is sad but true.

My heart goes out to everyone affected but I am sort of pissed at Hollywood right now
for desensitizing me to these scenes.

Well as the Ice sheets keep melting, what happens is the water is displaced to the oceans so, with all of this extra water, there is all of this extra pressure on the sea floor and so more EQ are more intense. As we keep this warming trend keeps up and more Ice melts, we are in for more bigger EQ the next ones are going to be bigger than the last as you see the weakest part of the oceans are like the ring of fire will have more EQ.

WOW 8.9!!! that is INTENSE, pray for the folks there!!

Not every earthquake can be caused by HAARP (I don't think any of them can really).

I heard about this on Coast to Coast AM.

Extreme weather. People are telling us that we can't rely on astronomical observations (because Light is like a pinball in a pinball machine). Things are happening. They are telling us to REMAIN CALM. Sure. Prepare by stocking up on food and other essentials.

What does all of this mean? Just prepare. If nothing happens, then you bought $100 worth of food that you can use the next time you go camping. If something happens... then maybe you and your family might survive a few days longer than everyone else.

am watching live feed on Al jazeera. Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. I am watching houses floating inland, cars being swept off roads, just watched a Semitruck get swept away and a whole neighborhood of houses.
