Oh man the footage being shown is horrible. This may turn out to be worse than the Indonesia Tsunami.

Water is just rushing across Japans inland. This is not gonna be just a few loss of lives.

I wonder how much this quake wobbled the Earth???

CNN is showing entire towns getting wiped out by the tsunamis. There will certainly be more incoming. These towns appear to be pretty decently inland too. 6-10 meter waves is what I'm hearing now.

Would make this the 5th largest earthquake ever recorded: link to USGS stats.

WOAH!!!! this aint good,just seen latest picks and it looks like part of japan is being washed away, their evacuating this area because a now 10 meter tsunami warning has been issued....

wow the aljazeera live tv broadcast is amazing, this is crazy.

Wow is all I can say. That is a big quake and many strong aftershocks.

That footage of the tsunami swallowing up the farm land and flooding that city was brutal to watch. I can only imagine that hundreds of people were swallowed up with those punishing waves. They were moving so fast. The seismos for the Vancouver BC area are all solid black since they struck. This one will be wringing the Earth Bell for a while.

I'm worried about this area. There has been a lot of major EQs around the ring of fire in the last year except for this area. I'm wondering when it will be our time.

Prayers go out to those affected in Japan.

The roads are clogged and people are having to get out on foot and run for their lives. I really am getting sick to my stomach.

The biggest quake ever recorded was a 9.5 in Chile May 22, 1960

I don't know what southern east pacific rise is, but so far 19 major quakes including the (hopefully just) one great quake.

Thoughts and prayers with the Japanese. My friend who goes to university over there just updated he's okay after it, but internet is out. So he must of gotten lucky if that's the most of his worries.

Just watched ships roll and flip, cars being thrown around, and hearing about roof collapses. Hopefully nothing else sizable hits. It's been upgraded to an 8.9.

Crazy times.
