Please tell me you don't believe that, thats obviously a missile being launched and someones super-imposed a jet over it.

That is true. What I'm saying is we WOULDN'T notice because testing happens here all the time. Most people say "Oh they're testing a missile again". And there are so many plane contrails in the sky at a given time, we just don't look or care.

I can take pics of 5 right now off my balcony...an do it all day by the beach.

But I don't believe I've ever seen a jet contrail look that way in all my years here. Not saying it's impossible, just not 99.9% usual.

My point was is if we were asked to DISTINGUISH the two, we would be pretty well versed at it.

The poster I was quoting was passing them off as "missiles" and using terms like "here's another one".

Don't tell me he didn't. It's in plain view. I just called him on it.

Rebuttal?

P.S. How did you so handily and readily furnish the web site you THOUGHT I was speaking of?

I never mentioned a specific blog or site? Busy Bee you are huh?

If someone launched a missile that close to LA why did no-one else notice it? And surely some-one must have heard it? Los Angelenos are certainly used to contrails and would barely notice. Unless someone taped one from the right angle and claimed it was a missile.

Everyone is so concerned about meeting their mortgage, car and rent payments.....trying to pay their bills, feed their families, getting their annual flu shots and looking at the TV guide for tonight's programming that, who the hell is out there anymore looking at the sky?
Really?

And how do we know there weren't anymore witnesses? Not everyone has a relative over in the FOX studios!

Most people don't pay attention to anything other than their little out-of-control lives now a days. That's the sad truth.

We have (last year anyways.....) non-contrails marking up our skies here in south Florida and no one is the wiser.
I bet you can take the Moon out of the sky and most won't even notice.

It was Zorgon. You should be used to his style by now.

Is there another blog with those images? Is there another blog with those images which presents a strong case for the "missile" being a plane. That blog has been linked to multiple times in the various discussions about the contrail. It wasn't hard to figure out what you were talking about.

Wow, and only two posts up you were calling someone else rude! Seems like every thread I visit at ATS I see that
Star Trek avatar of yours with a post full of condescension and talk down the nose attitude. I find unusual that someone with such obviously vehement beliefs would even be interested in a 'fringe' site like this- or is just so you can go around laughing at peoples ideas and acting like the wise sage. I was under the impression ATS was somewhere we could discuss unusual topics without fear of ridicule- perhaps a pure science forum might suit better someone of your obvious vast intellect?

I'm not concerned with where the "missile" landed, I'm curious as where did it go during the filming. All I saw was a short thirty second clip of an object producing a contrail. Did it explode? Did is just mysteriously vanish? I mean think about it, if you were filming what you thought to be a missile off the coast of Los Angeles, would you just stop filming after ten minutes, or would you continue to film the missile until it was out of your line of sight?

Yes, I mentioned what the Pentagon said not as proof, but to claim that they really know exactly what is on that film, but simply aren't telling. I do not believe everything that the Pentagon says because my father served in the Army with the Signal Corps and taught me better. 9/11 is an entirely different matter and I won't stray off topic to talk about that in this thread.

I'm youngish, twenty-nine, and I realize that the powerful few of this world is corrupt with greed and fulfilling their own agenda, but the majority is just trying to enjoy life while it's here. I do agree with you on one point. Life is great minus the BS!

then why did you even jump in?

Look, ONE website seems to be the source of those photos. And those multiple photos of the SAME event are being ramrodded as "proof" in threads like this. Can we just admit that there is ONE photo of a plain contrail that looks like a missile trail?

And can we further admit that alternative photos like it are hard to come by, and it's being trotted as a main player in the argument against "missile"?

I'm not saying it was definitely a missile. But three photos trotted out as the shining display over and over and over...looks really desperate and suspicious.

Phage,

In all due respect (for you're the person I love to hate) why is it you have such a marked interest with con/chem trails and planes/missiles?

How is your opinion any greater, deeper or more accurate than anyone elses who has an opposing opinion?
You come off like the Forum expert when I KNOW you're wrong a lot of the times.

I will not get into the con/chemtrail debate with you now but when you come off holier than thou with your expert opinion cloaked as facts, you really look like a dis-informant.

As Judge Judy says: You can't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining.

The question we all should be bantering back and forth is: "Whose missile was this and.................why?" (not: Where did it go......")
That question should be followed by "Why is our government lying to us yet again"

This was a missle. End of story.

Come on, folks. Use your brains! If it looks like a missle, flies like a missle, and acts like a missle--it's a missle!

Don't allow debunkers to cause you to second guess yourself! We're not stupid!

Well, I take that back.

The government knows that there are enough stupid people out there that will believe whatever they say--hook, line and sinker. In fact, they count on it.

That's why they've been able to say that UFO's are swamp gas all these years.

Wake up folks. Use your common sense.

It wasn't a missile. Why banter that it was?

When the media is owned and operated by the government, do you really have to question their motive (or lack thereof)?

But maybe it's as simple as:
Maybe they didn't have enough petrol in their helicopter to chase it or battery-power in their cameras?
Maybe they were going off to cover another story?
Maybe they thought they had enough and didn't realize it was going to be 'news-worthy'.
Maybe they did film it all and the government filed it away with it's fellow (oh chit!) other tapes throughout history?

Actually the answers are endless

Okay Phage,

It happens a small percentage of the time. The video you posted was by locals fishing. That needs to be taken into consideration...because the event off Long Beach the other day was taken by a Helicopter Reporter and looked at by many across the world.

Very expert and respected military people have come forth with a "missile' opinion. All the appropriate authorities are MUM on the event.

It's been nearly 72 and no definitive explanation of which flight exactly it could be, which makes speculation go further through the roof.

I'm not saying it's definitely a missile. Optical illusions are a very real phenomenon. But I'm hearing more and more experts in the military say this is not the norm. So as someone who is not as expert as they are I worry.

I don't feel I'm 'crazy' for being concerned.

Speaking of using common sense...

First off, it was not the "government" who said it was an airplane first; it was private citizens who did actual investigation, who looks at the facts and evidence, unlike those proclaiming it to be a missile...

Secondly, can you tell us how many UFO cases the government described as "swamp gas"?
