Phage,

I'm not one to appeal to authority for sake of their authority either...

You have your own conclusions...I don't really have a definitive one yet. So I'm asking questions. That is all I can do.

You seem to be convinced so I won't bother with anymore discussion with you since it would be wasteful and pointless.

If it was a flight to Phoenix, would the contrail/plane (rather obviously) not continue on EAST past the videographer?
Contrail or no he would have easily seen the plane moving on by. That simply did not happen.

All these stills of various contrails mean absolutely nothing. Planes make contrails, missiles make contrails. This was a missile.

So, not the flight to Phoenix. Next.

Folks, this is clearly a jet plane, not a missile. The person who originally sited the contrail said they looked at it for 10 minutes. No missile travels so slow as to be observable in 1 spot for 10 minutes, and definitely not a ballistic missile (which a sub fired missile would be)

If this was a missile it was the slowest missile ever manufactured and would be worthless in war as it would be easy to shoot down. I see another poster in this thread has also posted pictures of similiar looking contrails, all from jets. So yes, this can happen.

It is an optical illusion which happens when the angle of ascent of a jet is parallel to that of the viewer on either angle theta or -angle theta.

Having just watched the videos, I have to say that this looks nothing like a missile, and very much like an airplane. The one video looks a bit strange near the beginning, but in all fairness it is with odd lighting and from an unusual angle, so I'm not surprised it didn't look right at first.

But near the end of the video, it just looks like a plane.

And the fact that these "mystery missile launches" happened twice right in a row... at the same time a flight happened to be flying that route...

I dunno. This is such a non story. Slow news cycle? Why is this on the MSM? These guys are as paranoid as ATS sometimes.

Why is optical illusion in quotes? Another user in this very thread posted pictures of jet contraols displaying the exact same attributes, and here you are saying it doesnt happen? Really?

I don't think it was a plane either... An optical illussion just seems like a bad excuse for not knowing what it is. As far as it being a power display with a ballistic missile, I don't think it was that either 'cause they would just be shooting their own foot by not acknowleding it afterwards - that would just send a signal of not having any control of their own airspace. So what was it? I don't know, but I think it's curious that whatever it is, it flashes red and then green at the end of the video.

If its a ballistic missile its the slowest ballistic missile ever made.

The video cuts off before the plane reaches the camera, or its travelling more alongside as opposed too (although to begin with too, as that what caused the optical illusion in the first place), and given that you see the green wing light, which is on the right wing, it could be travelling to the right (from the camera perspective).

That's proof enough for me.

No they didnt, Oh, and I AM an expert. Heres some info for you all: MY handle is NavalFC, and this has never come up because no topic here has had relevants before, but the FC stands for Fire Control. During my time in the Navy doing targetting and such was my field of expertise, and Im telling you I don't think its a missile.

Yeah I agree that the full video looks exactly like a plane. My concern is that regularly 'credible' people are stating otherwise in the media, and no answer has been given by authorities to empirically state it was ''so and so flight at so and so time'. A lot of people are nervous about war and lying from the government (rightfully so). That in itself feeds a lot of paranoia. And when you have Generals and ex Nato people saying "missile" people give things a second look that would not be otherwise.

I think the media is a large part of this...and the 'authorities' aren't making it easier by the silence.

I realize it isn't Governments job to step in and quell every panic (as if it would matter), but on this subject you have a lot of Los Angeles natives really nervous.

Seems like nobody is able to give a clear answer on what that rocket missile launch was about. If there is no one giving me any clear answer, I would like to go by the story of Coleen. It makes perfect sense to me. At least her story has the consistency that no one can provide.

It looks like even if they wanted to, they can not start the World War lll because of the alien intervention.

There will not be World War III, just the miserable defeat of the evil planners.

I suppose you will tell me that THOSE must be missiles too?

EXACTLY The first broadcaster said MISSILE and now everyone has MISSILE tattooed on their forehead

Its an airplane

But those 'retired' officers like the first one in the original broadcast? What s the matter with them...
They must have a grudge against Obama

photoshop.......obviously

Airliners traveling east end up with their contrails pointing straight up in the sky..... Haven't you been listening to the debunkers?

Again I implore members to use more judicious quoting methods, including using the "reply to" tag at the top of each post.

This will simplify the quoting process and prevent the removal of excessive quotes.

Thank you

Forget all the talk about stupid contrails, what about the flames of a rocket motor that you can see at the head of the "contrail"?

Take that into consideration with the fact that a Chinese Sub popped up in the middle of U.S. Navy exercises in the Pacific around the same time frame and the Navy never saw them coming.

It all sounds like they are trying to cover their butts for incompetence.

I've been reading the various threads on this "mystery" here on ATS and of course the MSM... I am now convinced it was simply an airliner... To me, the most simple and compelling evidence is the fact that this was observed and filmed for something like 10 minutes... There is no rocket, missile, ICBM, sea launched rocket or amateur rocket that would be observable for that length of time... It's impossible and would defy the laws of physics... Therefore the airliner contrail theory wins... BTW, the MSM, especially the wacko idiots at FOX, should be embarrassed by their "over the top" sensationalistic coverage of this when they, in fact, had no clue what this was... (just my 2 cents)

I saw that red spot of the rocket at the top end of the contrail in the video and some people here are trying to convince others it was an airplane. Are they frigging nuts?

It was a long range missile fired up by a submarine to attack something that went awry.
Now because they messed up, they have to hide it instead of admitting the mistake.

If this was an attack that went awry, why did the sub get so close to the coast as to definitely get spotted and led to their demise?

It was a long range missile. There is no way they can get spotted and get immediate retaliation. It was too far away from any enemy territory.

An optical illusion that stumped by our bravest, boldest, brightest and best defensive people (aka: Pentagon) eh?

Well, either way we're screwed.
Idiots verses liars.

(Psssst, it was a missile folks).

Fact remains: nothing will be done or will ever become of this. It's just another day in another week of yet another year of total absurdity brought to you by the Officials who are running and controlling their minion.

So move over, there are so many of us them-there sheeple, I'm afraid we're running out of pastures now. Good thing for Monsanto!

When I see the entire ten minutes they filmed, then I'll be more convinced to believe that it was a missile. There was a reason why they only show the thirty seconds or so that they showed.
