From the stuff I have read about you on ATS I am going to say that you are definitely a partisan hack.

sweet so I can quit my job and people can pay for my health care? But what about my other bills does it also cover the cost Pelosi??

How the hell does a house wife have that much power? I don't mind women in power just as long as they are educated, but her I don't have a clue at all.

My favorite women politicians (sadly a few) Condi Rice and Governor of Texas back in the day Ann Richards.

This was covered on Fox News this morning. They had two people on discussing the soundbyte, and from what I saw, they all said the exact same thing.

What she said in the video and the OP interpretation was dead on.

I know, Fox News is not a credible source.~

Finally, Pelosi says something I can agree with

Where do I sign up. I have been getting rather tired of my boss anyway. 4 years at Juilliard will finally pay off for me.

I tell you I told my 23 year old son that he now can give away his poverty level job and still get health care, even when he pays for private insurance right now that drains his income.

But Now thanks to Pelosi he can suck up the tax payer and get free health care under Medicaid.

After all with all the money my husband and I pay for taxes for socialized care and welfare, wars and the wealthy financial institutions why not some to go to my son.

He didn't have too my friend, when he signed the joke that was made of the HCR that he wanted and that I felt all over for, to give people a public option (no an over bloated Medicaid )and regulations to private insurance companies (no a free ride at the expenses of citizens pockets) with mandates, and allowed private insurance pimps to redact the bill by their lawyers he is not better.

That killed my hopes and dreams of his administration.

Pretty amazing isn't it. Sadly, Pelosi recently stated that passing Obamacare has been "her proudest achievement"

“Healthcare reform is my proudest achievement in Congress,” she said. “But it would not have been possible without the leadership of President Obama.”

Pelosi made the statements in a commencement speech Saturday at Mills College, a women’s liberal arts college in Oakland, Calif. She was flanked by Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.), a Mills College graduate who chairs the Congressional Black Caucus.

In the speech, Pelosi recalled a conversation with Obama the day after the healthcare bill passed the House.

“President Obama called me to say he was happier than the day he was elected,” she said. “I told him, ‘Mr. President, I’m very happy, but not happier than the day you were elected. Because if you hadn’t been elected, this day would have never happened.’”

She also promoted the impact she believes the new health insurance law is having on the lives of American families and young adults.

“For young people, for the first time in history, you are allowed to stay on your parent’s healthcare plans until you are 26 years old,” she said. “For children, and for all Americans, we ended the days where you can be denied coverage because of a pre-existing condition.

thehill.com...

Pardon me as I rinse the vomit out of my mouth.

Glad she was speaking to a friendly crowd of new recruits for the cause.
I do agree with the pre-existing condition aspect of this however.

I also gaged at her proudest moment, (screwing the tax payer), but the truth behind the joke call health care reform is bigger, after the new administration dedicating most of the tax payer money on bailouts and fixing and preserving the wealth of the ones on the top they could not just let the HCR go, after all it was the Health private insurance bailout, with all the soft campaign money that they gave they could not be ignored.

We are the tax payer as usual are the losers in the deal.

Riiiiight.... Everyone is worrying about musicians getting free health care while big banks are getting massive profits funded by taxpayers money and are not paying any taxes in return.

"Financial Terrorists" are Destroying the US Economy
They Will Pay Zero in Taxes, and Get $33 Billion in Refunds

All of this is occurring after giving these firms $14 TRILLION in taxpayer support - that works out to be $46,662 of your hard-earned money. That’s $46,662 for every man, woman and child in this country. If you have a family of four, sorry, your future just got robbed and you and your children just lost $186,648!

So what are all these firms doing with these record-breaking profits? Are they returning them into the tax system in which they came from, the tax system that was looted just to keep their scam running?

No!

Let’s start with Wells Fargo. After being bailed out with our money in 2008, their top five executives DOUBLED their compensation and each one of them made over $11 million in 2009. Wells Fargo CEO John Stumpf made off with a cool $21.3 million last year.

And now comes news that Bank of America and Wells Fargo will pay zero, yes ZERO in federal taxes for 2009. Bank of America will net a $3.6 BILLION benefit from the federal government in 2009. Wells Fargo, after $8 BILLION in earnings for 2009, will net $4 BILLION from the federal government.

Yes I read an article on that same issue, while the economy goes down south this rats are no losing anything in any of the quarters since the bailout.

Actually they are also profiting from the small bank crashes going on all over the nation as the too big to fail are becoming a monopoly.

And does anyone see any of the rats in GS or JPM hit jail time yet from crashing the economy?

Or does anybody have noticing how the ones that took most of the bailout money and still sucking the tax payer are doing? you know the Freddy Mac and Fannie Mae, while the new bubble is been made with the FHA?

We are rob to oblivion and nobody seems to care and those that do, get criticism for pointing the facts out.

This thread was made with the intent to take a swipe at the administration. It wasn't created to present any kind of news, once so ever.

And that's a BAD thing?

She should have just said:

Hey, all you people that don't want to really work until you manage to land your dream job, don't sweat: All of those people already working will support you just fine!

Why is it that the government "gets credit" for providing healthcare to these people when in reality, it's all of the other people working that are paying for it?

Would I have loved to spend my days performing concerts and singing my heart out all over the world? Hell yeah! I love to sing and travel, so that sounds great to me. There's only one problem: I can't carry a tune in a bucket.

So should I be allowed to continue trying to make it as a singer while living off of everyone else's contributions that enable me to do so? And what happens when everyone is trying to become the next Sinatra or Picasso and there's nobody actually just working? I'll tell you what happens:

There's no more money for their healthcare!

It should scare the heck out of people if this is what the government is spewing as the positives of healthcare reform.

See.. It's a hypocrisy to be worrying about paying for musicians healthcare, while ignoring the fact that you're paying for the profit of big bankers. To the tune of TRILLIONS! They ARE ROBBING YOU PEOPLE BLIND AND THE MAJORITY OF YOU LOOK LIKE YOU DON'T CARE!

(not meant for you Marge, but for the other members complaining in this thread).

To put it plainly. I don't understand some of you ATS'ers who cry 'socialism' almost as if you've been programmed to... Oh wait...

And what many doesn't even get it how the nations economy is not getting any better, getting the tax payer to pay now for a mammoth HCR with mandates and a growing tap that the government is hiding from the public.

Only those that follow this mess are outraged and understand the truth and the obscenity that is going to hit every hard working American int he nation.

The Federal deficit is nothing but a fraction of what the combine states deficits are so far the combine States deficits are over 123 trillion dollars this makes the Federal deficit like nothing.

And people have no clue what that amount of money is going to do to the states in the nation, is not the federal government the one that will default first is going to start with the states.

some of you guys are only talking about musicians, i heard her talk about this before, and she mentioned small business and aspiring entrepreneurs if i recall. this could be a great thing! imagine the possibilities, now people can not only write the next big hit, they could spend more time getting educated, innovating, inventing, etc etc. my question is will the health care reform help small business owners take care of their insurance as well as their employees insurance? if so this could really be great for a lot of americans.

Most of us are fully aware of what is happening right under our noses. I have watched local and stable banks forced into closure while Fannie and Freddie continue to ask for billions while the govt refuses to enact any reform with F&F whatsoever. It's a travesty.

I also watched first hand the govt. funded takeover/merger of National City Bank by PNC. One big bank swallowed by another because the Fed was able to pick and choose who got big bailout dollars and who didn't. Instead of cleaning up troubled assets, the bailout is being funneled into bank acquisitions.

HCR and all of its hidden evils will wield a devastating blow to our nation. This is a very personal issue that hits us all very close to home hence the remarks that you've seen. The voice of the people was utterly thrown in the gutter when this bill passed. This is just one more nail in the financial coffin of our once great nation.

Who are the people actually working and paying taxes for all of these people NOT working?

Sounds great: Everybody off trying to come up with the next million-dollar idea. Unfortunately, you don't get paid for that unless your job is to sit and come up with ideas, but then you are back to actually working, so that's not your point.

Oh brother. Small business owners have already said this is going to kill their business.

Think about it this way: They are now going to have to pay money that they weren't paying before either for:

benefits OR
penalty for not providing benefits

Either way, it's more money going out than before. I really don't see how that is going to make them more money.

You really think that the HCR is an Utopia, please research on the subject my dear, Do you know that the small business lobby is joining the challenge to fight the HCR?.

Do you know why?, I guess you don't, it means they will lose their business when they be forced to cover their employees under government mandates, small businesses are not thriving in our economy right now they are dying.

Small business lobby joins challenge to health law

www.washingtonpost.com...

Like I said is peole in this boards that have disected the HCR and they know exactly what a scam is going to be
