The only problem is that this isn't the breaking news forum...you didn't have to quote the article as the title...plus you repeated it inside your post.

The FACT is that Pelosi never said "Taxpayers will cover your health care"...and you have that multiple times in your OP...and now you are trying to hide behind the article name as an excuse. It was your CHOICE to spread that misquote...you still have a responsibility to face that you are knowingly spreading mis-information.

If you deny that then just let us know so we know to not take you serious in the future.

I already question the credibility of anyone who uses sources that outright misquote someone in the title of their article. But it would be nice to have confirmation if you are ok with misquoting as long as it pushes your agenda.

This thread was made with the intent to take a swipe at the administration. It wasn't created to present any kind of news, once so ever.

Let the conservatives have their fun. It's cute.

Also, I'll say it again. I can't wait when Obama leaves, the Right will continue to live in their dream worlds where they are right and the other party is wrong.

The same goes for Liberals of course. Both side sicken me with their immaturity.

Ok, I'll bite. Of course it's frustrating frustrating trying to convince a Christian, or any other religious person that there is no God. The main reason is that you, nor anyone else in this world, knows if there is a God or not. Plus, where is the angle. You'd have to convince someone who thought they were going to the place of their dreams, and instead tell them that when they die, they just rot in the ground.

That would be like if I were a car salesman, I would try to convince you that you wanted to buy this car, but I'd throw in the possibility that it will probably break down on you later on down the road, and it's going to reduce in cost so much that they'd be better to use those extra dollars bills to use as fuel in their furnaces.

You're right, arguments like that is pointless. What's not pointless is a historic piece of legislation.

Again..

One should read the links

The link presented was for ALL breaking news.. This was breaking news..

I placed it in the Pol Mad Forum as I anticipated responses like the one from GHL. Partisan and uninformed..

I was not disappointed..

Just getting back to the OP and this response from piddles.

I couldn't agree more. If people sat back and realised how big the creative industries are and how much they contribute to the economy.. Every other industry in the world is somehow affected by the advertising industry. That industry relies on (these are the OBVIOUS ones, i'm not even mentioning fashion designers, set designers/interior architects/designers, industrial designers, engineers, art directors:

- artists and designers (to create packaging, advertisements, packaging/labeling, brand/concept development, photographing and filming the products that you see, the vision you watch)

- Multimedia/web/software developers and engineers (Websites, the scrolling text and captions on the news, the animations you see on ads, nifty little gimmick iPhone apps, software, etc)

- Musicians, sound engineers (people who write the jingles, people who play the jingles, people who make the music that you hear everyday - whether by choice or not, people who write the "transition" music on tv shows and those who make it sound better),

- Actors, dancers and models (people who endorse, promote and act/perform in adverts, movie and tv, as well as appearing in print and on the web)

Get rid of all of these people and the world would be a pretty boring place. Oh yeah. Don't forget that it's writers, filmmakers and photographers that document the events of the world and pioneered technologies for capturing and storing information. If you think you're an "out of the box" thinker, congratulations, that's creative thinking.

So my comments are partisan but yours are not...is that correct?

Can we just get a straight answer out of you on this issue...did Pelosi ever say "Taxpayers will cover your health care"???

1st source: same CNS video
2nd source:link back to CNS article
3rd source: I don't consider credible, but again the same video

several dozen more sources, probably of the same edited clip?

probably why you said "we can eliminate the source", there's only actually 1 and they edited the video to take it out of context.

and the only people covering this are, just like cns, small time right wing news sources. more people who don't care about context, as long as it works for them.

I find it mildly amusing that while the video has not been debunked, it is clear they are her words, the partisan intellectual antithesis protesters choose instead to comment on the ..

1. Source

2. Job

3. Anything except the subject matter.

While I understand and accept that Political Pundits are present and as extremely partisan as history has shown us, it is still quite perplexing that they have never educated themselves past this.

I too was once like that, yet I took it upon myself to become more educated and to allow myself to recognize the true enemy of "us".

Those that spend their entire lives bifurcating us into separate camps; such as we see on here.

Deflection
Attacking the source
Derailment

All present here in the responses to the OP

We must all ask ourselves why this is?

Is their argument so ineffective that tactics like this are necessary in their own minds?

Have they swallowed the Politically correct pills and now lack the ability for independent thought?

I must apologize for not having the answer, only the innate ability to detect and report this as it appears.

Thank you

It's not socialism, it's stupidity. Palin makes the Republicans look foolish, Pelosi fills that role on the other side.

I'm sorry if you were joking or something, but could you explain to me how it's not socialist?

I apologize if you can not follow my verbiage.

I really can not bring it down anymore than I do.

Why do you want me to tell you what it is she said?

Can you not understand her commentary?

If not, I am sorry

There's one other thing I want to mention.

I'm a graphic designer (did my bachelor's degree in graphic design) and in the creative field, it's a matter of "proving" you know what you're doing by way of a portfolio. If you're not able to spend time developing a portfolio, you're not going to get a job. If you don't get work, it's difficult to develop a portfolio that's worth a damn. People who do the hiring want to see that someone was willing to pay for your technique or style. I've got zero "professional" experience outside of freelancing (only done that for about 6 months since getting my degree and being able to dedicate time to it - my time was taken up with my honours year - making artwork and researching and writing a thesis) and a part time job prior to that) and people want a minimum of 2-5 years industry experience. 90% of my job submissions are sent back with a "dear john" letter because they just look at your resume - no experience, we didn't even bother looking at your portfolio.

I'll admit that graphic design is not really my main passion, I'd much rather focus on making artwork as a sculptor. That's what I'm doing at uni - working toward my Master's degree. But in the meantime, I'm trying to get *some* work as a designer, because hey, that's what artists have to do. That's the "real world" job of an visual artist.

It's really a simple question...not sure why you are dodging it...and attempting to insult me at the same time.

Simple question...a YES or NO will suffice.

Did Pelosi ever say "Taxpayers will cover your health care"???

No one is dodging anything

Your attempts to derail by asking inane and nongermane questions that are completely answered in the video is perhaps the most dodging.

Her comments are clear, why would you need to ask me what she said?

Of what purpose could that provide, other than to keep you from watching a video that is pertinent to the thread?

One thing you perhaps should be clear on. Demanding anything of another Member is not conducive to any intellectual endeavor, in specie when your answer has been provided in the course of conversation.

I find it mildly amusing that while the video has not been debunked, it is clear they are her words

There is nothing to "debunk" in the video except that you, and the article, are misquoting what she is actually saying.

Her saying musicians can quit their job because they won't be "job locked" in order to get health care is A LOT different than her saying "taxpayers will cover your health care".

If you won't admit that...then I don't think it is us that are being partisan.

I too was once like that, yet I took it upon myself to become more educated and to allow myself to recognize the true enemy of "us".

Those that spend their entire lives bifurcating us into separate camps

So you are right and we are wrong...you are "educated" and we are not...is that what you are saying?

Your "Super Mod" title doesn't mean you are right or that you are more "educated" than any of us lowely members. All it means is that you can lable us as political trolls and hang the threat of handing out warnings and removing our posts.

But on this topic...you are dead wrong and YOU are dodging and deflecting in order to avoid answering my one simple question.

Deflection
Attacking the source
Derailment

All present here in the responses to the OP

We must all ask ourselves why this is?

You call it deflection...I call it calling out someone for spreading mis-information and posting articles that are mis-quoting people just in order to make a political point.

Have they swallowed the Politically correct pills and now lack the ability for independent thought?

And more of the "I am right and you are wrong" rhetoric.

Sorry...the "super mod" titled doesn't get automatic stars and flags from me...maybe I do have some "independent thought" after all...unlike the fan club that staff have following them around.

Please review this link as it answer this completely off topic post far better than I ever could..

Moderators Are People Too. (and they have opinions)

Very weak tactic there and fairly exposing..

You call it deflection...I call it calling out someone for spreading mis-information and posting articles that are mis-quoting people just in order to make a political point.

Then why not attack the article? Perhaps your argument is too weak for the article?

Sorry...the "super mod" titled doesn't get automatic stars and flags from me...maybe I do have some "independent thought" after all...unlike the fan club that staff have following them around

See the link above..

I'm sorry, but crying about the Big Bad Super Mod picking on you wont float here as I have been very succinct and well within the T&C here; as well as posting as a Member not a Mod..

There is no attempt to derail...and yes you are dodging because you have still not answered the question.

Again...a simple yes or no will do...did she ever say "taxpayers will cover your health care"???

Also...do you think there is any difference between these two statements.

Statement A: Quit your job and the taxpayers will cover your health care.

Statement B: You can now quit your job and don't have to be job locked in order to get affordable health care.

Statement B is closer to her real statements...Statement A is something that she NEVER said...but it gives everyone the impression that she said it or that is what she "meant". There was even a member saying "we know what she meant".

So yes...the article...and you by spreading the article around are misleading people and giving them a false impression of what she said. All it takes is to plant the seed in the minds of most people...then no matter what comes out later they will believe what they first read. Then they will go to work...tell their friends...send an email...post it on facebook. And there you go...mis-information spread and mission accomplished.

But you can say that I am the one being partisan....that is fine. But exactly what message am I trying to push here???
