Yes, Iran will receive nukes soon! So astute you are. Very soon indeed. A present from Israel? Lots of presents?

Hamas has vowed to fight to the last drop of blood, the last drop of blood of the women and children they plan on hiding behind as they attack Israel. They have no honor.

Maybe they could learn to fight like men. A hundred of Hamas best against a hundred of Israelis best, break out the shields and swords, winner take all. Put em out on a big field, and then they can fight until one side has shed their last drop of blood.

token, exactly what does Iran obtaining nukes have to do with this response by Israel to the attacks by the Gazans?

Other than funnel weapons and money to support any and all anti-Israel groups, which only make the situation worse?

And as far as your hope that Iran will have nukes soon, you might want to rethink that. In fact, Iran may want to rethink that.

But you know what?

Syria, Gaza, and even Iran will get more than what they dish out. At this point, there is absolutely nothing that any other ME country can do to dislodge Israel.

So it is written.

Yeh it would help if the israeli soldiers know how to fight without their jets and merkavas.

IDF forces chickened outa lebanon when they realised their soldiers were getting hammered.Since than israel has never dared gone on a raid in Lebanon.

They were mostly policemen who worked under Hamas because they are part of the government.

It seems to me that there is less and less distinction between the militants and policemen in Gaza. The police compounds which were bombed are the same places where the rockets are being launched from by Hamas. It is pretty much the same paramilitary organization, only perhaps in different uniform.

Seeing as how most of the dead were paramilitaries, Israel's strike was fairly successful. But I doubt it will do Israel much good.

The actual militants, especially the leadership, is safely hiding, meanwhile Palestinians civilians are out in the open.

As for IDF ground operations - no doubt it will be very difficult, but not as difficult as in Lebanon against Hezbolah. Other than rockets, Hamas does not have much in the way of weapons that can be effective against IDF armor. The best thing Hamas has going for it, is the dense urban terrain in the cities in Gaza. But I doubt that IDF will venture far into Gaza or occupy it. They will mostly resort to precision strikes and small security zones.

Either way, Hamas is in for a beating. But they can take it - as far as Hamas leadership sees it the militants are expandable. A few hundred die - a few hundred more are recruited. Israel is not likely to succeed in uprooting Hamas, unless they can take out the leadership. And only Allah knows where they are hiding right now.

Yes, and it would help if Hamas quit hiding behind residential places, women, and children.

Yes I agree with you. Nothing can stop Israel. This elimination of Hamas is a precondition before the anticipated elimination of Iran. One front less. Iran is surrounded on multiple fronts (land and sea) by UK and US forces. Iran is the last piece in the jig saw. No more Iran = complete domination of the Middle East by UK Israel and USA. Pakistan will be controlled by India directly or through extreme intimidation. Next step Iran!

Most sensible thing posted by you so far Pavil.

1000 Palestinian children studied were found to share a lack of will to live.

Living under the constant visual experience of their fathers, mothers brothers and sisters being beaten and oppressed by men in uniform, that's understandable.

Not saying I condone suicide bombers, but it's certainly understandable.

Hamas doesn't fire rockets from those compounds because they don't have long range rockets. You probably seen in many videos Hamas gets close to israeli settlements and fire a couple rounds of rockets and mortars.

Hezbollah really needs to get a few russian anti-tank missiles and IEDs into Palestine. That would break the back bone of IDF if they decided to go in Gaza with full force.I

It's time hamas use it's fundings to get better rockets and mortars that have longer ranges and can penetrate deep into israeli cities.

If israel don't have any regards for life than Hamas shouldn't either.Time to rain rockets on israel hezbollah style.

I think israel should get ready to embrace what's coming after this massacre.Hezbollah should also fire a few rounds at israel to remind them of how capable their rockets are.

My question relates to this topic since it involves the advice you give in your comments.
Would you support the Russians backing Cuba with missiles to launch against US cities? It's not like the trade embargo our gov. put on them years ago hasn't oppressed them too. So I would assume by your comments that it would be ok with you.

I have got nothing against US and it's people.US itself is being used by zionists who ocuppy a large chunk of US leadership and US soldiers are paying blood price for the safety of the jews.

Once these zionists are taken out.80% of the world's problems will be solved.

To all the people saying Iran, nukes, etc. - wake up. This has been going on for a good part of the last century - and it never gets better but it does not get worse.

Iran will not get involved, nor will anyone else. Nukes have nothing to do with this. There will be no WW3, the coming of Christ, or anything terribly exciting.

What will happen is that Israel will pount Hamas for a few months, with IDF suffering dozens of casualties. The world puts up a big stink, and then forgets anything ever happened. Eventually Israeli elections will come to pass, Barak gets elected, and Israel retreats from Gaza after seeing that as always nothing progressive can be accomplished. Hamas rebuilds and a new power struggles ensues between them and Fatah. Hamas will likely be able to retain power.

After that - rinse and repeat after 5 or 6 years. It is the same crap over and over again, and everytime people get needlessly worked up arguing over it as if it changes anything.

This will not lead to anything big. It will be the same old story we have seen in late 90's. By this time people around the world should have seen this conflict for what it is already - but no. We still have have one sides that is yelling "Israel is evil and must be destroyed" and another side that is yelling "Palestinians are evil and Israel will prevail". This attitude will solve nothing. This attitude is why we still have conflicts like this.

Hamas leader calls for new uprising against Israel

GAZA, Dec 27 (Reuters) - Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal called on Saturday for a new uprising against Israel after air strikes in the Gaza Strip killed 208 Palestinians.

"I call upon you (Palestinians) to carry out a third intifada," Meshaal, who lives in exile in Damascus, told Al-Jazeera television in an interview.

He called for a "military intifada against the Zionist enemy", as well as "a peaceful intifada internally", an apparent reference to Hamas's power struggle with Western-backed Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, whose government is based in the Israeli occupied West Bank.

www.alertnet.org...

What should be highlighted here is;

" intifada against the Zionist enemy"

Its not against Jews, or Israel - But Zionits!

Those racist here in ATS should read those words, like they are said, and dont distort that - "Palestinians are fighting Jews and Israel"

Thats 100% BS!!!"

They are fighting against Zionism!

... And I support that fight - My king is not a banker.

Attention would be turned to another group to annihilate and the same problems would be encountered.

Yes. The films of the Hamas badasses running around like chickens with their heads cut off was hilarious. Have their masks on, shooting into the air, just making noise.

I see that all Hamas warriors are being called up and on to strike back at Israel. Yea. Right.

They'll probably load up a few mortars behind a school bus full of children. That's the cowards they are.

Well, they wanted a fight.

What are they waiting on?

The Palestinians need to get rid of Hamas pronto!

Hamas is the cause of all their grief, and they just keep causing more grief for the Palestinian people.

Hamas KNOWS that in a fight with Israel, they wouldn't stand a chance!

So, why do they do it?

Hamas KNOWS what Israel's response would be when they start lobbing rockets over their border at Israel, yet they still do it, knowing Israel is going to retaliate and innocent Palestinians are going to be injured and die!

I actually think Hamas does this for that exact reason, to get Israel to attack Gaza, kill and injure Palestinian people, just to try to get the Arab world all worked up, and probably hoping that they will unite and attack Israel.

That's the only plausible reason I can see for trying to inflict such little damage while KNOWING it is going to come back tenfold!

Funny how the West Bank, where Hamas DOESN'T have control, is having no problems and how life is getting better there!

Palestinians Work to Jolt West Bank Back to Life

life for West Bank Palestinians, oppressive and challenging though it remains, seems to be making substantial, if fragile, improvement.
******SKIP******
A senior Israeli official in the northern West Bank said that 4,000 Israeli Arab citizens were driving in to shop in the area every weekend and that 115 new stores had opened in the city of Tulkarm in the past four months.

Even in Nablus, a volatile city of 200,000 that has been subject to a particularly suffocating Israeli security operation, the atmosphere is beginning to change. A gleaming mall owned by the municipality, under construction since 1999, finally opened earlier this year.
******SKIP******
Ziad Anabtawi, chairman of the Anabtawi Group, which includes import, distribution and investment companies, says the Palestinian economy is much healthier today than it was in the 1990s, when it was based on laborers working in Israel, their entry dependent on Israeli good will. Today, it involves large Palestinian investment companies and bankers.

So while Hamas continues to inflict hardship on it's people in Gaza, over in the West Bank, things are getting better!

Gaza needs to get out from under the control of Hamas, that's all there is to it!

As long as Hamas is in power, these kind of "incidents" will just keep happening, over and over again!

Just what do you think Hamas was hoping to accomplish by just lobbing rockets at Israel, Israel to drop to it's knees, beg them to stop and then open up the border?

I think not!

Every time I'm getting ready to go visit Israel to see some shared historical sites, shared holy places for three major World Religions, observe a shared identity and shared historical culture in the indigenous people of the area, the only thing they remember to share is hatred and death.

Oh well, perhaps Tibet?
