I don't understand how 15 pages of rhetoric can transpire, and no one has actually looked at the SCOTUS docket? Search OBAMA on the SCOTUS website for their docket. This is all you find.

Maybe he decided to look it up at Snopes.com.

In a 34-page memorandum and opinion, the judge said Berg's allegations of harm were "too vague and too attenuated" to confer standing on him or any other voters.

Surrick ruled that Berg's attempts to use certain laws to gain standing to pursue his claim that Obama was not a natural-born citizen were "frivolous and not worthy of discussion."

The judge also said the harm Berg alleged did "not constitute an injury in fact" and Berg's arguments to the contrary "ventured into the unreasonable."

I hardly think that a case that the lower Judge says "ventured into the unreasonable" gets taken up by the higher court. Oh wait, it didn't, Application (08A391) denied by Justice Souter.

DocMoreau...I think Souter only denied the injunction to basically halt the election. He did not deny hearing the appeal. Although, since thousands of petitions are submitted to the Supremes each year and they only accept about 100, I foresee they probably won't take this one.

Oh, and by the way, I don't think we can just take Snopes.com as the official word. The official answer does not belong to one couple who people have taken as the "be all, end all" answer to all questions.

If I were Obama and I were truly born in the United States, I would bring that birth certificate to the next national spotlight time with the media and show it to everyone. Really, if there's nothing to hide, then just do it. People want relief. If there is a slight doubt that Obama is not an American, then just prove that you are. We don't want to think that we elected a non-American to be President, ok? There are many people out there who love their country and are afraid of it being taken over by foreign interests.

I'm not saying Obama is a foreigner who is taking over the country and handing it over. I'm just saying, there is doubt. So ease the doubt. Maybe it will bring that many more people on board and create some teamwork. It's not that hard, right? Get the dang birtch certificate out.

thus, even if obama ever regained his american citizenship, he would be a naturalized US citizen, not a natural born citizen, and thus ineligible to be president

I have constantly seen the whole "Certificate of Live Birth" thing debated over and over but what about the above? This was posted but no comments were really made.

I am not sure how valid this source is but see here for a bit of information. They do seem to "hate" Obama which is a shame as I am sure this will make for a bias source.

I guess the goverment allows us to ride along to make us feel as if we lead.
Mccain or Obama it wouldnt have made a difference.

Well, so far, the only truth that has been revealed with actual evidence is that Obama does, in fact, have a valid birth certificate from Hawii.

However, there are some knuckleheads here who want to insist that it's phoney, despite not being able to put up any evidence whatsoever to back the claim.

They remind me of my conservative dad, who was a big Bush/Cheney supporter and still wants to believe Saddam Hussein was involved in 9/11. The fact that the 9/11 Commission itself said he was not involved doesn't phase him a bit. He's one of those guys that simply dismisses facts he doesn't like as being a bunch of bull. There's a lot of that going on here.

the cases argument is that when obama moved to indonesia as a child under the name barry soetoro, he attended indonesian school. at the time, you had to be an indonesian citizen to attend indonesian school. papers show that he was:

in order to become an indonesian citizen, you had to renounce other citizenships. that means obama would have had to renounce his american citizenship. that means that even if obama is a citizen now, he had to go through naturalization and is no longer a natural born citizen. he is a naturalized citizen and thus ineligible to be president.

of course, he could have fallen through the cracks and gotten his indoensian citizenship illegally without ever renouncing his american citizenship. thats what the court case is about.

Grandmas and grandpas for that matter can get confused. She may have had him confused with his brother or someone else. I worked in a nursing home for 4 years till I was 18, I heard all sorts of stories, including one women who thought I was a nurse with her in WWI. Yes, that is a one, this woman was older then dirt.


Mine usually go thorugh four or five names before they get mine right.

the motion to have the case on nov 3 was denied.. the case wasnt dismissed. that would have halted the elections; instead, souter gave obama a month to respond (by dec 1) before the electoral college meets to vote. after that, scotus will decide whether to hear the case or not before the electoral college meets. best decision possible imo

Not so.
America has never recognised the renunciation of citizenship.

So if Obama did become an Indonesian citizen, (a possibility I have yet to see any proof of,) it would make no difference to his status as an American under American law.

There are special scanners you can use that shows them if need be.
This is just for mundane, everyday office scanners. But if agencies need to pass them back and forth they do have equipment that can read it.

There is an actual court case and a deadline.. just let it be.
