some news I've heard on the rumor mill.

Ukraine is supplying arms to Georgia
Turkey is sending a fleet to the black see to observe the georgian ports
Other eastern Europe nations are fully supporting georgia(whatever this means)

Nato weapons and supplies have been sent to S.O.

Can anyone confirm this with links please?

If Ukraine is found to be supplying weapons, I see this getting ugly with russia and there border areas the are autonomous, and russian centered.

If turkey is sending a fleet, its to protect its interests in regards to oil, and the pipleline, which if russia hits could disrupt there economy.

If eastern Europe goes to war, so goes Europe. We need to watch to see what poland and other former bloc countries do.

Camain

WAIT WHAT!

Turkey might get involved

Well someone reported Turkey's war ships are on the move in the Black Sea. I am not sure if this is an accurate or confirmed report.

Turkey is tied to Georgia thanks to the new Caspian oil pipeline.

And are the news site implying we have a Turkish and Russian Naval confrontation ahead of us? Are the Turks crazy? What interests do they have in the war?

No they are no implying that. Nor am I. I am just saying that if indeed Turkish ships are in the area is can get very tense.

Now lets shift our focus to Turkey for a while.

I am guessing that the Russians accidently bombed and sank a few Turkish vessels at Poti. And the Turks aren't taking it lightly and are going in for a confrontation.

Now is Turkey a member of NATO. If yes then the other NATO are obliged to support Turkey militarily! Well this could lead to a world war.

Turkey is not part of the EU, they want to enter but there isn't even a date decided, they are far from entering the EU.

Someone might have rushed on the news with Turkey - perhaps this is nothing but a rumor. Plus even if Turkey's ships have left port just today, they won't reach Poti anytime soon.

News from my sources indicates the Black Sea fleet is part of Russia's strategy to blockade Georgia from the sea.

Russia already destroyed the pipeline, or definitely damaged it.

Maloy could you please post the link which talks about Turkey, even if it is about the Turkish ships leaving port, because this is a VERY big escalation.

No doubt, mobilizing warships is no small matter.

I watched a video on Sky's website that says Russia is suffering major casulaties and underestimated the Georgian forces.

Right now, the video says Georgia has the upper-hand, but Russia is bringing in more troops.

I don't know for sure what Turkey is doing but someone mentioned it earlier in the thread that Turkey was mobilizing warships but could not confirm it (Maloy posted this).

Anyway, Sky news also reports that Eurpean Oil flow is getting bottlenecked or starting to slow considerably. The EU has sent an envoy to Georgia in order to try and get the conflict to stop.

I doubt the envoy will have any weight on the matter. It's going to have to play out one way or another ..too much damage has been done.

This could be nothing, but if its not... Its not a good twist in the story. We were going to Bulgaria on holiday this year and I cancelled, loosing money, because of a bad feeling.

Now that the flow of liquid gold has been affected I bet the rest of Europe is burning. The best way to hurt a country is by hitting their oil supplies. Russia is gambling here. Now the conflict is going to spread.

SOMEONE TRY TO CONFIRM THE TURKISH NAVY NEWS!! TRY TURKISH NEWS SITES.
