Friendly Reminder

You have all done a remarkable job of providing insight and news from the region, I guess this current conflict isn't flashy enough for the MSM.

Keep up the Great work and please remember to stick to the topic.

Thank you.

so armenia, a former russian satelitte is mobilizing, Ukraine has stated that it supports Georgia. What is going on with the reset of Eastern Europe? I know a U.S. missile frigate just docked in estonia. Is it possible this could blow up all of Eastern Europe? Would nato not join in just to protect these seedling democracies? I heard Azerbajan was mobilizing as well. Is there any truth to possible mobilization of multiple countries to join in on this?

Are there any links you can provide to support this? Very interesting.

Oh Great!! If something happens that ticks off one nation, whats to stop Russia destroying them? I have to go and meet my girlfriend now, little does she know we're in for a quiet night of "Who bombed who!?" Please keep me uptodate as I shall be back on once I return.

Surely the worst that will happen is many more civilian lives are lost before that happens. I never see a problem with TALKING if it means trying to stop killing, do you? How many times do posters on ATS ask "Why should the people suffer for what the leaders do?". So why should they suffer here?

the USS Elrod is an FFG-7 or Oliver Hazard Perry class frigate; i will happily say this is a social call to estonia, and in the event of anything being launched at an OHP it would be sunk - bugger all air defence (1x CIWS) as the SM-1MR was removed - these have tails for sub hunting work.

nice ships though

Apologies, by worst i meant in terms of Political ramifications. Of course civilian casualties are undesirable, however i do not see the 'legality' of a EU / US / NATO delegation in this situation. Surely that would just make Russia more determined to press their advantage while they can.

If the best thing that comes out of these discussions is a halt to the bombing of urban areas then that is enough for me. For me, that should be the goal of the delegation, not dictating to Russia and Georgia from a higher plane.

can't find the original links, I've been all over the blogs this morning. read it somewhere, not sure if its true or not in regards to armenia and azerbajan. I know the other indepent province in georgia has opened a second front, looking to kick georgian troops out. I read that in another blog, which seems to make sense. Additionally, Russia has been bombing outside of S.O. and in georgian territory. Georgia has declared war and is mobilizing reserves. I'm curious how that is going. Are the reserves coming forward, or is this a war they don't want to fight?

Any links pertainent to Eastern Europe would greatly be appreciated. I would like to know what these former satelittes are doing, If the rest of E. Europe goes to war, I have no doubt the west will follow.

I fully agree with this and I'm sure the majority of people wish to see it happen as soon as possible

Rare, so might be relivant. I just passed Glasgow/Prestwick Airport in west Scotland. 2 grey USAF planes (Nimrods I think, with the mushroom radar on top) took off within a five minute period. the last time i saw anything like this it was in the run up to both gulf wars.
