SKY NEWS:
Georgian President has denied hardly any civilians have died, contradicting Russia’s figure of 1600.

This is going crazy now, Sky are going to their guy on the ground there in a few moments

Gee, I wonder which side is telling the truth. I thought that 1600 was way too steep for one day of fighting.

I am not an american Patriot. I am not a russian. I am not an ignorant fool.

I am a subject. A subject of a nation that is already involved in a war on two fronts.

I am paranoid. I am paranoid that the words of John Titor are true.

I am aware. I am aware that the soviet union dissolved years ago and has been pissed about losing so much land and power.

Georgia was a separate sovereign nation in civil unrest. Last time a state tried to leave the American Federal Empire we had a civil war to keep them. But the world was alot larger back then. Now everyone is an email, satellite photo, button push away from one another. The georgians would probably gladly tuck tail and run but this doesn't matter to the russians. They want their retribution but more than that, they want their old territory back.

If they take Georgia the AFE will lose its coveted Caspian oil. If the AFE goes in to help Georgia then it will become another world war.

I sincerely hope that every person reading this gets it. Their is no easy out no simple solution. Fill up your gas tank and gas can before the price goes back to 4 bucks a gallon.

This is it, so get ready because it is gonna be draft time when bush says we WILL come to the Georgian aid.

Russia Calls for immediate ceasefire..

I wonder if this will happen? Maybe they feel that they have shown enough strength.

If it does, it's because of the stern warning they got from the US in that they better stop or else ..

Not too mention, most of the Security Council was pressuring them to agree to a cease-fire (albeit China of course).

I'm hoping they do, but they refused twice already.

Amen... I have been sitting back for months, enjoying bashing the America bashers and being aloof about everything, mainly I make money in alternative energy as prices rise...

I didn't think Iran would happen either and honestly the taliban are rotten and saddam was backstabber to us...and we did try to contol casualties and our death toll wasn't large...

and it was... Just another dumb war a few days back, something that might or might not have been a waste and I know America was genuinely not going about to rub anyone out who really didn't deserve it... and I know that's true

But now as 2 carrier battle groups an a whole armada steam to Iran... despite my thinking that wouldn't happen

and Russian troops are securing georgia right above Iran... a country that was going to join Nato

It's not a game anymore is it?

It is in the end a negative aspect of all Americans that...even when we are doing wrong...there is this moral high ground we hold... we believe everyone we deal with holds our values and ..we trust our allies to hold them and excpect our enemies to hold them...

and the reality is they don't... Even Bush... was never going to spiral out of control... this blockade is... America Bullying perhaps over what we feel is ight and wrong

But... it is posturing, it is not intended to cause...this

Isreal..is run by nuts and we have...befriended them and don't want to let down our allies... Georgia is ruled...by nuts too... so Is Iran...

They have nothing compared to us these countries...a dn we don't take seriously how much trouble they can cause...

Even Russia with putin..in the end still at the helm..lets be realistic...

He's ex KGB... he's a Killer...Bush is..an arm chair general like many of us in this forum...

We are in the end... stonger than anyone... but idealistic and comfortable...

we did here... stand by our convictions...

and now..sadly it seems we will be called on our bluff...

The chess pieces are being moved and the players are willing to cheat and they probably all do have extra pieces hidden in their sleeves if they are moving at all...

Those of us who are Americans... will now need to move past our Idealism and... do what needs to be done, we must... awaken from our childhood... In our personal lives in our family lives and as citizens

The game is officially on... it's for us...like a guy who is a high school jock...big and tough and tries to defend his girlfriend against a street gang... he plays it real tough... but in the end, he will have to decide at that moment to use his stregnth or not...because the guys he is up against this time are genuine killers.

I know...that China is our secret ally... and that is all we have going for us...that they wil turn the tables... but of course for their benefit even more than ours...

The deal really is unfair..it leaves them the middle east and lets us keep our continent with nothing else to show...

This move... taking Georgia above Iran on all bs no one needed a war over lol....

they are anticipating and taking preaction here, fortifying their position, making a statement

This will not be made as easy... as the NWO thought it would...

What people have against a global society... their religions and their philosophies..it escapes me personally...

But it is obvious that Russia... will not be playing NWO with Europe China and The USA after all...

A proud people Russians are... vicious when angered... and honestly, far more a stalling point in global unity over the last 60 years then we could ever be...

But they are strong and they are smart as heck...

and Isreal is again making a huge mistake supporting georgia...

and honestly if Russia wants a degree of Russian independence... and isn't so fast to jump right in to the NWO...

I say Isreal needs to back down and maybe so do we... Because the Russians aren't... unwilling, they just...have been invaded far too many times...and your dealing with a dog that... is scared angry, people might not think of Russia like that but...from napolean to Hitler... they have been repeatedly marched on...

Russia... could end up a great player in Global unity... even as a Jew... Isreal, is not worth Russia as an Enemy... they could in time be the global pushes biggest ally...

and in truth...we are walking to hard on them... they are nervous...

There those in Russia still in the cold war and those in America still there too...

Russia had no plot...as some say to... come back and get us... we... treat them badly, we took our cold war victory disgracefully and are shutting them in as if it's still on...

and Isreal is... screwing not with the mideast but with a big troubled Bear here... and they have a hand in this...

You know... the Pipe...the mideast war...is to supply chinese oil... Russia wants to handle Iran...

and we have 2/3rds of this...

It would be the respect...we should give a strong and admired enemy to allow them to handle Iran..the Iranians will work with them...

we have plenty, russia can control the Iranians...

We are cutting them out of this deal... and ... this doesn't have to happen...

Until now... I don't believe our administration wwas greedy... it was smart to bring the mideast in line...

we have now...finally overstepped our bounds...

and I think all the Russians want...is our trust here, a piece of the action, some pride of the old soviet days...

To not be... forsaken as just another nation... to be proud

Sometimes you must... Honor your enemy when you defeat them... because they otherwise might decide to go round 2...

What today is...is a lesson for the USA in poor sportsmanship... and it is appropriate that this happens during the Olympics...because win or loose you honor your opponent when done...

We did this in WW2 and every other war... we made things better when the fight was over...we made friends and allies...

we left the cold war off... poorly, not gracious to Russia in anyway...

This is where... the one place I will agree... America has become truely arrogant

We should... send for Putin... apologize publicly and privately

It's not about win or loose... Russia is being pushed way too hard... this much is now obvious... it's not kiss ass... we can defeat them and we would buck up...

But will be hit hard first and...everything would suck..not just here but everywhere, for all our children russian, american, middle eastern...

Russia is not beligerant..they are worried, scared, insulted... left ouit of the game being played and...way too smart to allow that to happen...

Like Americans...Russians rather die than be weak... they have alot of pride...which is a sin after all I suppose... but we all have some sins and it's forgiveable...

Very good post but have to strongly disagree that China is an allie. They certaiinly are not.

The NWO is mainly the West, China has their own plans for world Hemogany. Russia is the step-child acting out of frustration right now.

China, Russia and Iran are all allies at this time. It could change though and if it does, Russia will become a US allie. You heard it here first.

I dont know...the russians may think well we came this far lets just go in a little further after they capture south osseti and keep it safe..Of course they know noone can do a damn thing to stop them...all they need to do is stop saying no to a ceasefire and by the time all the politics is finished the war will be over...assuming russia isnt just going there to protect osseti that is..

You're so right there Mopus, we have penned the Russian Bera in and it was bound to bite. Why place all these NATO and affiliates on Russias border, it's not fair and damned insane. We could have had Russia as an ally in the war on terror, we share the same threat of Islamic terror. What do we do? We push them into the corner, carry on with the Cold War offensive and piss them off real bad. There would probably be no issue with Iran if we'd got the Russians onside, but no, lets go and push the Bear into the corner and surround him with our proxies, total madness and we'll regret this in the long run. More respect should have been given to post USSR Russia and its near abroad, no wonder they are building up Islamic nations with nuclear technologies that may come back and bite the US and Israel with with a deadly venom.

I truly hope there is a ceasefire. It's all well and good for us to speculate about it here, but seeing people killed and injured on both sides reminds us that war is something we don't want anywhere.

There's so much conflicting information, too - have Russian aircraft been shot down or not? Have 1600 people been killed in South Ossetia or not? Is there really going to be a ceasefire?

I have a feeling that there's plenty of leaders in the west that don't know where to stand on this. Do you defend Georgia and enrage Russia further because you've been encircling them with NATO, or do you give them some leeway. Georgia is a hop, skip and a jump away from Iran and strategic energy reserves, and we know what has been going around about that situation.

I wonder if Israel had attacked Iran if the US would be spouting about 'sovereignty' so much.

Either way, I hope this thing cools down.

If nothing is done soon, Russia will topple the domcracy in Georgia. Georgia will then once again become part of the collective Russian Empire.

If Russia did nothing they would have allowed their military to be openly attacked without any consequences.

Would the US allow their fighters to be shot down over another country and not send a response?

Georgia shot down Russian aircraft. The story about them violating airspace and dropping bombs is utter garbage.
They stirred up a hornet's nest here and now they're looking for some dramatic excuses.

I'm sorry but what were you expecting Russia to do? Allow another Chechnya to break out? And break off more chunks of Russia?

South Ossetia is NOT a breakaway. It's been autonomously governed since 1991 and was fully independent before, just because the clueless West don't give it full, diplomatic recognition doesn't mean they don't exist.

Georgia has not had an influence over them for years. Now with Abkhazia breaking away too they're afraid they wil loose control over two pieces of crucial territory (which never belonged to them in the first place).

The Georgians opened fire on the Russian first, regardless of who started the ground war (Georgia or Ossetian separatists), Georgia attacked Russian military personnel who were not actively involved in the hostilities.

Russia has every right to defend the integrity of it's Republics.

The Georgians will learn soon enough, the error of their ways...

Not anymore though...

This is going to be a bloody fight for South Ossetia...

I feel realy bad for Georgia, they are helping us in Iraq...

We are going to transport thier 2000 troops back to Georgia...

I realy think this could get more ugly..

WELL... amazingly, according to both Sky News and the BBC, Russia has now bombed the second disputed province of Abkhazia.

The Georgians have just declared a state of war lasting 15 days - the Georgian parliament has also just confirmed that martial law is now being implemented.

Well... It's not something i'd argue over...China being an Ally, many people feel as you do that... they are an enemy... but for the sake of my point i'll list the reasons I believe this without being my long winded self (if I can) and this is...my logic, and there is no proving this until...action happens to validate it...

1: The Clintons began selling alot of high tech and weapons related goods to china In the 90's

2: The capture of the US spy plane did not become a major incident... it seemed to me...a transfer of information.

3: in similar time frame..China backed off it's cultural invasion of Australia

4: The Chinese have been placing men on the ground in Russia for decades and... have Not backed off that program

5: we allow them to spy... we could be much bolder about stopping the tech spread to China, we don't

6: we obviously envison a long relationship with China because we are building 2 North American Superhighways to held bring Chinese goods into the USA

7: We backed of Taiwan and endorsed a one China Policy

8: We made no effort to stop, Chinese moves into South America

9: As a culture while we dislike communism... Chinese/Eastern Culture is widely embraced in North America overall... I myself am a major fan

10: China has basically only ever refered to us as a competitor not an enemy aside from a few trash talking generals...

11: We currently have some weird going ons where...we ship hardware to Australia and then they let the Chinese come in and inspect things... there again is clandestine transfer of information going on here... the spying, the spy plane, the clintons now this... it's not open, but for certain we are ...helping the chinese the heck out here... militarilly no less.. The designs for their new Cruiser looks just like an Aegis...

12: We let them handle NK...a couple of years back, they sent for lil kim on a train and he came back...and just basically shut the heck up... In the same time frame China ...and it wasn't widely covered dumped a Million men on the NK border... this was an obvious favor for us...

13: This is Huge: They carried our debt for the war in Iraq and Afghanastan..at least a really nice chunk of it... If they were actually trying to stop us...they could at any time. This alone makes them...sort of an Ally in my eyes...

14: The war here... the territories we are dominating, lead directly to China... China has major Saudi deals for Oil, it is per fact... where the majority of the mideast oil needs to go... so not only are we fighting a war for oil... but it's Oil thats for China mainly not for us...

and we are deeply rooted with the Saudis and they are likewise with China in fact the Iran push is... alot of Saudi fear...

But sack Iran... and what you get is... an oil pipline that secure all the way to the borders of China... and I believe this is what it's all about here... they finance.. we fight us and China don't have to compete over oil

15: There can't possibly be...two nations on Earth so completely financially intertwined as the US and CHINA is and together they literally prop at least half the world economy... this kind of trust is in it's own way an alliance of sorts... either one or the other could at the drop of a hat ruin the other... some might argue we are worst off if that happens... I wouldn't argue it back actually... but China is...crap without the US marjet economically too... and they know it as well as we do.

16: Bush... and his big mouth has repeatedly refered to... " a hidden ally" a "great and powerful ally that does not wish to be revealed" "more allies than the world knows"

Only China or India would ever fit that Bill.. there is no other power aside from Russia and... well it's not looking like it's them and I don't think he was full of sh... I think the guy talks too much

17: This administrations confidence is enormous... as if, they have something up the sleeve... and I know we have some cool post nuke weapons... but I think it's China backing us up that gives them the bravado...not scalar weapons or anything else

18: It seems to me...from this earthquake and floods in the midwest... that Us and China are...testing Scalar weapons on each other... I do not think...it's hostile, I think it's agreed upon... some people think that this is a covert war... I think we are jointly in development together... because this would al be very, very hot indeed if it wasn't and... it didn't go there..when Chinese Generals accuse the US...I think they just weren't in the know

19: Strategic plausabilty of victory... the US could never occupy China, too many people too large a territory via sea invasion... Ditto for the USA filled with guns and a continent of heavy equipment and terrain...

Russia and the Mideast are... conquerable by China they could take the territory for real, hold it and populate it... China desperately needs land... with Americas help they could get it...

I think we are softening the mideast up for a Chinese invasion, we loose they come in...

a Key thing I expect... is an Islamic attack on the Olympics in China that steps them into the war on terror and has them cleaning out the west of China

This will be our common bond... China does not want religion at all in any way interfereing in Chinese Culture or Chinese Politics...we share a distaste for Islam politically in a major way.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend... sad but true.

20: Nostradomus...does predict a Chinese invasion of the Middle east... not a fan but... it begins to make sense if Americ is forced to withdraw and China moves to lol "stabalize" the region...

21: If anything is true... the aggressor side in ww3 if you believe in prophecy or armageddon... will have to be an incredible mighty powerful aliance...

The mideast is NOT coming together anytime soon, Europe is not particularly well armed and definitely not motivated...

and No one country could do it...

This leaves a Russian Chinese aliance... A Russian Indian Alliance... A Russian Chinese Indian Alliance. as possibilities...

But Americans never think of themselves as the Axis in this... But as you said the NWO is mostly Western... so who is our Asian Ally

Russia? China? Or India?

Logic dictates as sherlock holmes said... "Whenever you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth"

IF there really is an NWO... we must have an Asian Ally...

India despite being cordial...woud suffer civil war...too much islamic opposition to help us directly... the Impossible...

Russia is... securing Georgia against Nato and above Iran... Not Impossible that it's all a front... but highly improbable...

The only awnser I have left is China and all the above says...they are heavilly invested in us and vice versa...

And... we are giving our tech over to a nation that... has project 863 in operation... Look up project 863... 7 Post Nuclear Super weapons being developed...

Why would we aid them in this... wouldn't this be the greatest fear our nation could ever have...

Really? This makes no sense. Why would Russia attack Abkhazia. Abkhazia was worried about a Georgian invasion of their province following the one in South Osettia.
