TBILISI, Georgia (CNN) -- Georgia's president accused Russia on Wednesday of violating the terms of a cease-fire deal by attacking and "rampaging" through the Georgian town of Gori.

As I speak, the Russian tanks are attacking the town of Gori and are rampaging through the town," President Mikheil Saakashvili told a news conference. "There is marauding. There is destruction of buildings."

Though this seems unconfirmed......... And im not seeing anything on ABC nightly news atm.. Just the cease fire stuff already reported.

Alright, I'm shocked and saddened, but this is now confirmed independently, even online.

I repeat - barring some kind of misidentification - Russian incursion into Gori in violation of the cease-fire is now independently confirmed, even online.

Sky News' Jason Farrell confirmed he had seen the military vehicles in Gori, which has suffered from Russian bombing raids.

He said he had seen them patrolling the streets and that Russian troops had robbed a team of journalists in the centre of the town.

Cheers for that, Gerbil. Sky News' Andrew Wilson has just said that he and a colleague were threatened and had their car stolen by arriving militia, too.

Gori probably isn't such a wonderful place to be right now.

Definitely an uneasy feeling. Although...

However journalists in Gori, 15 miles (24km) over the South Ossetian border into Georgia, said they had seen no Russian tanks. Residents there told the journalists they had earlier seen "some" Russian tanks, but not in large numbers.

What I find strange is that such important news as this, if true, is not the opening piece for the news on SkyNews, instead they opened with a piece about UK inflation!

Surely a breaking of the cease-fire would be considered more important, at least by me.

Most likely Georgian Militia, he categorically stated they did NOT speak russian but was unable to recognize what they spoke . I can just see Putin saying F*** this ceasefire, go grab that guys camera .

From some unknown group stealing a camera we got to the soviet union all over again . No wonder they can keep you fooled on this war of terror .

Russia isn't stupid... it knows that America is about to launch war on Iran... Israel has just come out with a public statement saying that the US is refusing to provide it with weapons and support for it's attack against Iranian Nuclear and Millitary targets...

WHICH MEANS THAT THE US IS GOING TO PROVIDE ISRAEL WITH WEAPONS AND SUPPORT. It's a classic propaganda move by the Israelis to try and catch Iran completely unaware when they are attacked in the very near future.

Basicly WW3 started on the 080808 . . buckle up... it's going to be a bumpy ride!

Actually - and I wish to refrain from taking the thread off topic if at all possible - but since you mentioned this in the context of the Russia/Georgia conflict, it would seem that the U.S. isn't itching for air strikes on Iran just yet (if this is to be believed of course):

The United States has turned down Israeli requests for military hardware to help it prepare for a possible attack on Iranian nuclear facilities, a frontpage report in Israel's Haaretz newspaper said on Wednesday.

The unsourced report said the Americans had warned Israel against carrying out any such attack and had refused to supply offensive military hardware. Instead they had offered to improve the Jewish state's defenses against surface-to-surface missiles.

All these journalists and camera crew, all this filming their showing. .. all these Russian tanks that are supposed to be on the streets. Pity they don't show these tanks, can't even get a film of one of them .

Till I see filming of these tanks, I'm not buying it . Too much BS reporting from these journalists.

1 hour later breaking news: RUSSIANS TROOPS PULL OUT OF GORI STATING THAT THEY HAD ENTERED GORI TO CLEAR A GROUP OF SNIPERS WHO FLED S.O AFTER KILLING 74 PEACEKEEPERS.

There has been two reports from SKY: The first from two reporters saying that the Russians are in Gori, and that a Russian solider said something to them - the second from Andrew Wilson, who says that militia are arriving into the area.
