Almost all news reports of that time made it sound like the files would be immediately available to the public because of the proposal, but unfortunatly that hasn't happened yet.

As far a released records, as I understand it, the only access to information was for the victims or their next of king to request an inquiry via mail. The inquiry must be about a specific individual. The staff would then do the research and inform them of their findings.

I was reading this thread and actually got sickened by how this subject is discussed.

There's talk about a whole bunch fact, half thruth en bla bla bla.

Truth. There is a park named Babi Yar near me. It's got a memorial of its own there as well. Very ominous place there. If I actually get a spare moment from work today I'll post pics of the memorial and the names on said memorial.
