That post is not really so much about Trump but the people that support him willing to do some crisis acting.
After all, in their minds they would be doing something great for their country if this sways some voters that might be on the fence or who are thinking of staying home that day.

Do schools usually keep records of every student who ever tried out for a competitive club and didn't make the cut?

That's fair. But how long would you suppose the school would keep that on record, especially since he was never actually on the team?

Do schools usually keep records of every student who ever tried out for a competitive club and didn't make the cut?
CBS's Pittsburgh station, KDKA, interviewed Jameson Myers, a member of the school's varsity rifle team, who said that Crooks had tried out for the team in his first year at the high school but did not qualify.
Another former classmate, Jason Koehler, said Crooks was bullied for his nerdy appearance and wore camo or hunting outfits to class. He recalled that Crooks was a loner would who sit in the cafeteria in isolation before class. He also remembered that Crooks wore a COVID mask long after they were required.
"Thomas Crooks was never a member of the school's rifle team and we have no record of him trying out," the school district wrote. "The coach does not recall meeting him. However, it is possible that Crooks informally attended a practice, took a shot, and never returned. We don't have any record of that happening."
The district also dispelled a rumor, which was reported by British tabloid The Daily Mail on Thursday, that Crooks had threatened to 'shoot up' the school. Classmate Vincent Taormina said he made the threat in 2019. "We had like this anonymous place you could post things or tell on someone on our computers at school and he posted something like 'Don't come to school tomorrow,' and something else that made it sound like he'd put bombs in the cafeteria bathrooms," he said. But the district dismissed this claim outright, calling it false.
He did, however, belong to a shooting club. Clairton Sportsmen's Club confirmed in a statement that Crooks was a member of the club and offered its "sincerest condolences" to the victims of the shooting "including the former president."
"Beyond that, the Club is unable to make any additional commentary in relation to this matter in light of pending law enforcement investigations," said Robert S. Bootay III, club attorney.
