We just had a whole trial where this was detailed. Cohen's payment was an unreported, in-kind, campaign contribution. Trump then falsified business documents to cover up the fact.

It's a trick question. It's not a felony because paying your attorney is a perfectly acceptable thing to do. And for bonus points it would be considered a legal expense.

The amount of ignorance in this thread is astounding. Let's assume for a moment that what you all are claiming -- that this decision gives full immunity to the presidents -- let's assume you are correct and that is true.

Do you not realize what that means for the current president?

Do you understand that if you are correct, that means that if Biden wins again and Trump tries to rile up the masses and attempt a coup through any means, any at all, Biden can declare it an official act to have all those people, including Trump, shot in firing squads on the White House lawn... and that would be an official act, in order to stop a coup against an elected government.

Any uprising from now on, anything similar to January 6, can result in summary executions, and the president can't be held responsible for giving the order. Not in any legal way. Absolute impunity to kill anyone.

You are correct. He is talking about when Stormy received payment from a now defunct LLC created so Cohen could hide the payment from his wife.

The payment from the Trump Org. There was nothing illegal. But, it was a jury trial so it is what it is.

Simple Political Interference. Obamas head is exploding right now because he and the rest of his ilk never thought ANYONE could withstand what has happened to Trump.

The way I understand it is the Supreme Court has essentially said that evidence can’t be used against a president (Trump in this case) if they were President at the time, even if the actual crime occurred when the weren’t president.

So with the NY case, there was some evidence used against Trump well he was President, so it’s basically all up in the air at this point on whether Trump will be held accountable for any of his crimes.

Dark day for the US! The Supreme Court has literally made Trump above the law.
