Well, it's distinctly possible the debate was the very mechanism to do exactly this...replace him.

The bigger question in my mind is...'how?"

There's really only (3) options:

1. He resigns as POTUS

2. 25th Amendment proceedings

3. Biden plays some 'Hail Mary' to get out of the democratic nomination (which I don't even understand how he could do that).

So tonight's excuse is Biden was coming down with a cold.

WATCH him go in for a check-up next.
WATCH them next find something serious.
So serious, in fact, Biden will have to step down.

I also think they banked on Trump to keep interrupting etc, but Trump did not take the bait. He actually acted quite professional throughout the debate. This backfired bigly on CNN. Now they, and the Dems have a lot of damage control to work out. 😎

Trump was about as perfect as he could be. Never interrupting, coming back to Bidens points with real logic and numbers etc. Trump got two really great jabs in that were perfectly timed.

The DNC at their convention can literally nominate anyone they want.

The Democrats and Republicans, although considered political parties, are actually privately owned corporations.

They do not have to follow their voter's wishes.

Ask Bernie Sanders.

Biden would fight it, but I don't think he did badly enough tonight to remove him. He didn't crash and burn and that is what they would need.

I didn't follow Charlottesville too much but why did Biden repeatedly say people were coming out of the woods with swastikas?

I thought there were marches and protests in public places. They probably came from their cars. What is he talking about when he says they came out of the woods over and over?

They are technically private corporations and not political parties.

They do not have to follow their own rules, for instance.

They can do whatever they damn want to.

I watched the debate through Timcast, and they said there are people in his party saying he had a bad cold...He had been locked away for a week, he was about as good/bad as he has been for the last year.

It's a little more complicated than that regardless it's still a historic possibility, right? Last brokered convention was late 1800's IIRC

It's negotiated within the party no doubt there will be factions for and against this within the DNC, as well as ones probably pushing different replacements Harris, Gavin, Hilliary, and Michelle it could fracture the DNC

newsome was supposed to be the replacement, but then he ran california off a cliff, and got shellacked by desantis.

They might still try him hoping the american people arent paying attention to the economic collapse of california.
