It is shown, as per my wiki source, that once crowds are in city streets, which was the case in the London protest, where they were on the streets in central London, that the algorithms become more inaccurate and more difficult to figure out. period

... and the police know how to figure out the numbers. Like I said, crowd depth, crowd length, they know their city and the crowd sizes. They are not going to confuse 500,000 with 100,000. And they have no bias to purposely deflate the numbers.
