No, not really. Because when it comes to all the people pulling the strings at the top, I'd wager it's about power and money too.

Religion is for the masses.

Didnt you know that? Wow.

Very likely in this instance to be against demonstrations and calls for a ceasefire and peace.

And is completely offtopic for this post.

But here is a hint: most of them know it's BS for the masses too.

And over our Remembrance Day, too.

Most folk over here are wearing their Poppies with pride.

Millions of us.

Let's hope the demos are peaceful and respectful.

Nobody was debating that, only TPTB in the U.S. and Mexico.

Guido Fawkes. The only man to have entered Parliament with honest intent.

But that's Bonfire Night, not Remembrance Day, when we honour and respect our fallen.

Excellent!
At least there was someone with honest intent.

Anyone who considers demonstrating on Remembrance weekend should be deeply ashamed of themselves.

Its a day when literally millions upon millions of us pay our respects to all those who have fallen over the years.
Even those who don't normally attend any one of the thousands of services that occur up and down the country and who prefer to pay their respect in private should make a point of attending one this year.

I will be attending as usual at our local Memorial Cenotaph along with my Dad, my daughter and my grandson - four generations of Freeborn Englishmen.

I respect and will defend the Right to Protest, even those I disagree with like the current one's - but next weekend is not the time to do so.

If anyone is foolhardy enough to either disrupt or use such an occasion for their own political agenda then I suspect there could be some serious repercussions.

Protests today are intended to save lives, which are admirable and moral acts.

A protest dubbed "National March on Washington: Free Palestine!," is scheduled to take place in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, with organizers calling for an end to U.S. aid to Israel and a ceasefire.

The march has been endorsed by over 300 groups, and organizers say they are expecting more than a 100,000 people.
There are also solidarity marches planned to take place from San Francisco to New York.

Palestinian Youth Movement, which has staged dozens of large-scale demonstrations in North America and Europe since the onset of the Israel-Hamas war last month, says it aims to bring 100,000 Torontonians out into the street Saturday. Other demonstrations are planned in Ottawa and Washington.

It will be supported by a new coalition of Jewish pro-Palestinian organizations in the GTA called “Jews Say No to Genocide.”

Freedom Convoy to U.S. base in Turkey, include many people from different countries.

People in Turkey have been protesting in large numbers against the war in Gaza since it began.

The war has so far killed more than 9,000 Palestinians as Israel conducts a continuous air bombardment on the enclave and pushes forward with a ground assault in the northern part of Gaza. More children have died in Gaza since the war began than in all conflicts around the world in each of the past four years, according to the charity Save the Children. More than 1,400 people in Israel have lost their lives, mostly in October 7 attacks by Hamas on southern Israel, which began the war.

“We are heartbroken because of what is happening in Gaza,” protester Yusuf Gungor said. “Our brothers and sisters need to know that they are not alone.”

Young people, students and workers carried the Palestinian flag and chanted, “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free”,

So they were not marching for peace they were calling for the extermination of Israelis and the destruction of Israel

It also mentions the official police estiomate of 100 000.

Now, why would teh police lie about this and what EVIDENCE do you have to support any claim that they lied?

1 The Police will downplay it and that's expectable.

2 The slogan doesn't imply the extermination of Jews. It could be viewed this way but it's not really the case.

3 Did you see the part where it said there were many Jews in the demonstrations?!

1 what evidence do you have that the police downplayed this?

2 So you say, but we have already established that you can't be trusted to tell the truth on this issue.

3 No I didnt read more than I absolutely had to, it was like pouring sand into my eyes.

Why I shouldn't be trusted and why those who support Israel should be trusted?

The Police gave a figure without any evidence accompanied to it. So whatever it came to their minds and very low as an estimation as it seems. Those who were in the demonstrations said otherwise

The police ludicrously still tried to claim it was smaller than last week’s 150,000-strong demonstration, saying that around 100,000 attended. This vast playing down of its size was faithfully repeated by the media, including the Guardian.

Young people, students and workers carried the Palestinian flag and chanted, “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free”, in defiance of the Conservative government’s attempts to criminalise these actions. Noticeable was the number of homemade banners, with slogans such as “Stop killing children”, “Free, free Palestine” and “End the Occupation”. A large number of Jewish protesters took part.

It says: This vast playing down of its size was faithfully repeated by the media, including the Guardian.

It refutes the whole story and the low estimates.

Just look at your refusal to engage with facts, thats a prime reason you cannot be trusted over the police, who's job is counting and managing crowds like this.

These types of protests are fluid, so numbers can fluctuate.

No. The unbiased professional police, whose job it is to do crowd control and to count the crowd, said it was 100,000. The OP used a muslim opinion piece from India that claimed 500,000, and a socialist protestor who claimed it was 300,000. Neither 'source' was unbiased. Neither 'source' had experience or training with crowd control and counting the crowd. It is NOT possible that the crowd was 'fluid' making it go from 100,000 to 500,000.

The OP was just quoting two biased sources he liked to support his own bias while ignoring the official actual total.

100,000 is still a lot of people, but it's not half a million like he falsely claimed.

Course they can which is why you take teh opinion of the experts who are there managing and counting the crowds rather that some internet guy who has never even been there and has an axe to grind.

Do you have a source of those who actually counted the crowd in London, England?

The numbers are the least important aspect to this situation and it really does not matter to me, like it does to some of you here.

My focus is on at the very least hoping to see humanitarian aid pauses to get people out of Gaza and provide aid for those who have no choice but to stay...SAVING LIVES.
