Look at no till farming.
Once roots are established water has a place to go and fields do not flood.

Then there is the fact that two of each would not be viable to breed from.
Why populations can't be saved by a single breeding pair
an effective population size of at least 50 individuals in a population is required.
To avoid eroding evolutionary potential (the ability of a population to evolve to cope with future environmental changes), an effective population of at least 500 is required.

Your link is about frogs turning into salamanders, lasers and DNA?
The local farmer's fields backing on to me are all flooded.
The crops ain't coming back.
So the Flood didn't flood places with rooted vegetation?
Another miracle!

But the fields are flooded.

As to where the water will go, typically water follows the natural topography of the land and seeks the lowest elevation points, in this case those poor fields.

"The Amazon rain forest is overgrowth from man's introduction of agricultural practices.
The overgrowth covered up the cities that housed millions of people just 400-500 years ago."
I don't suppose you have a source?
"It takes 7 years to regreen deserts in Africa to where a fruit tree can be sustained.
The soil food web.
All it takes is water to begin to revive infertile soil back to fertility."
Or that? You can "regreen" the Sahara in 7 years??
We have local farms here where the fields have been flooded.
Did the crops go "dormant? No, they died and rotted away.
You sure you're a farmer?!?

"Prof Cannon explained this method was easier for livestock farmers, who can move their stock, rather than those growing crops."
Crops? Crops would die and rot.
You sure you're a farmer?

The roots are the bare branches that drink clouds from the sky.
When the whole thing flips, and the gathered waters rise.
To a child, the whole world consists of so much less than we eventually become aware of.
It is possible that both are true. In a way.
I'm not saying you're right or wrong.
I'm not saying I'm right or wrong either.
No till farming.
Look for pictures of the 2 from flooding.
