Transgender women banned from sports is one thing. Banned from chess! Now it's getting silly.

Yes the "it takes up to two years" is a bit of a head scratcher...

I'm thinking maybe they don't want to waste resources for a rouse and observe the players behaviors.

The danger of abusive men taking advantage of rules that are too open is there.

Another thing seems to be the points for the ranking. Can't just take them from one to the other, it's not an easy question.

Their main concern is people changing gender when already listed as another.

If you enlist with a new name and start from scratch there seems to be no roadblocks.

What part of the equality act do you refer to?

It's quite an extensive paper, can you please direct me to the relevant part?

I'm sorry, that was below the wasteline.
Honestly I have a lot of respect for boxing, i think it's on par with jiu-jitsu in martial arts effectiveness.

Those that combine the two in MMA are very effective fighters.

Exactly, after proving legally their status still they set out roadblocks without any explanation as to why.

Well if you rank below average in on category and can just change to another and rank above average, doesn't seem right either.

So it had me thinking about the things we actually can't change, not about biological Markes that have no legal significance, but legal documents....

Right now I'm only wondering can you change your social security number? And is your birth assigned gender encoded in it?

Thats like the last straw I see for trans bans to have any legal grounds without implementing something like birth certificate obligation or mandatory DNA testing...

Well if all games were played anonymously we would see rankings of lower ranked individuals change dramatically higher, when psychological and sociological, and intimidation factors are eliminated.

Those are all kind of the point, maybe not intimidation per say, of playing chess face to face.

If you take away the human interaction you might as well just play against the computer and call it a day

No, they will know they are not playing against a computer because those quirks we all have online will be apparent and chess players will get to know certain other players' idiosyncracies.

Hey Porkchop, read some of the forum chatter about psyching out your chess opponent and tell me it's fair play.

Ok, I'm not sure what to do with that information though.

I'd imagine an online game to be anonymous, as I have no voice and no visual of my opponent, a moniker and maybe an avatar...

Ad voice or visual and the psychological and sociological factors are at play.

Does that apply for men and women equally?
As in some people are just intimidated or irritated by their opponents?

Isn't that part of chess, to an extent? Take those factors away and chess is death.

I think being face to face makes the game much more interesting, exactly because of that psychological component playing a role.

Of course for the onlookers that dynamic is not or barely perceived, and for them nothing would be lost.

I like chess alot and always prefer a game in person over one online, how would that ever be anonymous?

Hey Quint, if you play any game against another human being, there will always be a mental aspect to it.

Are you going to tell me that a psychological advantage in checkers is unfair? How about baseball, football, volleyball, Chinese checkers, Poker?

Any game that takes some sort of strategy is going to, almost, require a psychological aspect to understand your opponent and try to get in their head. There is no fair/unfair when it comes to that. If you can't handle it, maybe you shouldn't play the game.

It applies to everyone equally and as for me when I watch a chess game I focus on the board not on the people, so online games would hold the same interest for me. Actually now that I know the psychology and intimidation behind it all, I'd be looking for signs of that instead at face-to-face games.

They're quite funny comments... Although some of the behaviors described are over the top others...Well i think chess has a lesson there for many players still to be learned...
I learned that some of the behaviors I already encountered and found odd are actual tactics...

Not to forget after trying to convince yourself and others through constant denials that the chess federation has banned transwomen from female chess competitions. The latest in a series of blows to the trans ideology.

You have questions? Better write to the chess federation and tell them to reverse the ban because they are 'legal women'....

The trans agenda seems to be in real trouble.

Spot on!

Transwomen have now been renamed as 'legal women' and they can take part in chess tournaments.

But wait.. the chess federation has banned transwomen from chess female competitions

Men and women aren’t different intellectually? I beg to differ and there’s an abundance of research into the topic should you wish to read it.

The member is denying every fact presented.
They try to go around it. They don't seem to like the idea the top female chess player is ranked 89th in the world and the female world champion 404th in the world.

It's psychological according to their logic....

I guess in left wing logic the perfect scenario is a stalemate every single game of chess and we can all be equal.

What a crock of sh!t.

Keep lying...

I showed you the relevant passages, FROM THE ACTUAL FIDE REGULATIONS, if you fail to understand what they say because its not some english for dummies but academic English that's on you!

but stop accusing me of denial when all the facts show you are projecting your own shortcomings.

Keep lying to yourself if it helps you feel better...
