FIDE in their Directory will recognize an individual’s gender identity that is consistent with the identity they maintain in their non chess life AND that has been confirmed by national authorities based on a due legal and formal process of change.

I was saying not reading context is an incredibly evolved skill in some, bordering on superpower, we don't understand the advantage it could possibly bring...
it was a bad joke...
There is evidence that chess-relevant stereotypes impact the performance of male and female chess players. Maass et al. (2008) demonstrated the classic stereotype threat effect where women underperformed when they believed they were playing a male player. They found that female chess players were chronically less promotion-focused (and therefore more prevention-focused). Their finding supports our claim that highlighting the negative gender stereotype will activate a prevention focus and that exposing men to a positive stereotype will activate a promotion focus.

an explained joke is a dead joke
seriously, I'm not interested in opinion pieces at all, no matter on which side they lean. this is more about women's equity than trans.
am I going to piss off the only one seeking actual discussion, probably, do I care not at all...
sexuality is triggering so many traumas, this phase of sexual liberation is really annoying to me right now, I'm looking forward once we settled in and everyone got their heads around it.
I'm happy with the actual regulations written by the FIDE, it's all the context needed for this discussion. it's also void of emotional language and all the triggers we see in those articles addressing the topic, it really helps to not lose touch with reality by focusing on legal text and regulations. proper use of language...
It took ME, the most deluded poster here, to actually find them and quote them. Low and behold, they don't say what is claimed, just shows the intellectual dishonesty that rules among the trans critiques.
5. Brain damage is possible…if not imminent
Brain damage is likely going to happen where a boxer may not function properly in speech and mobility. Even if they are lucky to escape that, their brain may not be functioning as normal. Slurred speech, stumbling, and motor skills loss are usually the common signs of such brain damage.

Yeah, I’m brain damaged. That explains why I think men and women are different.
Could you be anymore of a tw@t

sure some will be affected, and I think there needs a line to be drawn, going with the legal documents is the simplest and safest way.
But it would make it impossible for those that are from a country where legal gender change isn't even an option yet.
I'm wondering if you transitioned and are a legal woman, do trans legislation even affect you? there is no way to hold you to these rules when every document says you're a woman.
I think trans is a legal gender term by now, you have US passports with an X, I guess that's trans. but you also have born women, in their passport it says male and vice versa.
I think they are no trans but actually legal women or men, with everything that comes with it....
The following restrictions shall be applied to a player after the change of the gender in FIDE ID:
In the event that the gender was changed from a male to a female the player has no
right to participate in official FIDE events for women until further FIDE’s decision is
made. Such decision should be based on further analysis and shall be taken by the FIDE
Council at the earliest possible time, but not longer than within 2 (two) years period.
There are no restrictions to play in the open section for a person who has changed the
gender.

Does it matter that women want to play chess with women? Why are men so bent of ruining women's events? That's the problem here. This whole discussion is about men.
Besides, chess is a game where women can be bullied by men. There are whole forums on the topic. You cannot be anonymous when your opponent is a metre away, across a table.

Men and women aren’t different intellectually? I beg to differ and there’s an abundance of research into the topic should you wish to read it.
