Ummm…I also read a report that Finland just released 800 rail cars back to Russia…they were held up due to the sanctions…

It makes me wonder how many other Russian rail cars and engines are currently held hostage in other European countries…

Putin version of TET ???

The Tet Offensive sprung to my mind.

The thing is firerescue considering the lies already told by Putin, the Ukrainians are wise to his antics.

Meaning they won't entertain a word that comes out of Putin's mouth and will be prepared for anything.

Also Russia would be rather hard-pushed to mount any sort of realistic massive offensive right now down to the intelligence Ukraine is provided by NATO.

By my guess, if that happens it will be in spring.

They've been bullied, bombed and shot at since 2014.

Would you not be vexed?

That's a shame but the fact of the matter is Putin and his forces must be stopped.

What happens in Ukraine is an internal matter and sweet feck all to do with Putin or the Russian Federation.

Hence the reason they should never have invaded the place under the guise and false pretense of hunting the nazi.

As to being vexed, that works both ways.

Putin is the one who initiated the failed land grab, the Ukrainians and the Russian troops are the poor sods that will pay the price.

This short video raises some interesting points regarding Russian intentions and historical/geographical facts.

We will have to strongly disagree on this one.

Zelenskyy and his NATO backers have an enormous amount of blood on their hands.

Did they invade?

Flatten towns, cities and villages?

Target civilians and their electricity and water infrastructure?

Blood is on Putins hands, and his supporters and apologists.

I wasn't aware that it was my responsibility to explain why Putin wants a ceasefire...

Maybe he's just baiting or maybe he's genuine.

What I do expect is that the Ukrainians will open fire during said ceasefire.

I will be happy if I'm wrong.

Why would Ukraine also do a ceasefire with Russians still in their lands? Just because Putin says something doesn't mean anyone else needs to follow. On a side note, Russia has been on the attack and Ukraine has been more on the defense, so Russia stopping for two days would most likely see both sides stop.

How about we pinpoint by satellite where all the Russians are huddling up for the ceasefire so that 1 minute after they hit those areas with a massive airstrike. Works for me....

I know which side my bread is buttered and it's not Russias.

Im old enough to remember the arse end of the last cold war era.

It sure as s@#t was not much fun in the 80s living with the constant threat of nuclear war on the horizon.

Welcome to the next one(cold war), which may very well last the remainder of our natural lives.

When we could have been doing so much more than point weapons of mass destruction at one another and fight over lines on a map.

By my guess, that's Putin's doing, in an attempt to return Russia to some kind of semblance of the former USSR.

Which will never be allowed to happen and the reason why so many former Soviet Bloc nations choose to join NATO.

See they are not afraid of the west invading, but Russia, simple as that.

Ummm...yes...why yes they did...they cut off water and electricity to Crimea...after a nonviolent vote to return to Russia in 2014...

They murdered over 15,000 civilians in Donetsk and Luhansk...from 2014 to 2022...

How could you possibly not know this...

Too much..."eyes wide shut"...?

There is no damage to the rest of the ship". She arrived in Rosyth for repairs on 12 October 2022 and is expected to return to Portsmouth in spring 2023 following completion of repair work.

Looks like she will be just fine.

Most vessels that size have teething problems, just saying.

Seems rather harsh given that she is a state-of-the-art piece of equipment worth about £3 Billion(apparently a final cost of £6.2 billion) able to carry around 35 F35B Lightning II Jets, and up to 40 helicopters.

Quite the force multiplier and then some by my guess.

Now if she has to get accompanied by a tug boat when she returns to service, with black smoke pouring out all over the place, where ever she goes, and with no working water purification system on board, so the crew can simply get washed, you can make that claim.

Here's a link to an excellent alternate news source, "Strategic Culture Foundation", former British diplomat Alistair Crooke is on the editorial board, and International Journalist Finian Cunningham is a frequent contributor, as is Matthew Ehret of the "Canadian Patriot Review, and Pepe Escobar who is an independent geopolitical analyst...

If you believe the mainstream news narrative about 'Putin the imperialist', you won't like what you read here...

...but that won't make it untrue.

Why the hate for the UK? They’re part of the west and they’ve been with us through thick and thin even after our complicated family relationship.

And that’s what this all comes down to. I truly don’t understand the sudden water carrying for Russia by the same groups of people who preached to me about patriotism the last few decades.

We’re at an extremely inconvenient crossroads in our current timeline. As if anything couldn’t get worse, we have the reignited East vs West sphere of influence battle inches from world wide war. Russia, the major nation state of the USSR, is projecting on former satellite countries. I understand theirs an argument for their moral justification. But it’s a hard sell when so few of their compatriots want anything to do with them. I’m the market place of ideas, it seems more would rather lean to the west.

One of Russias few allies is China, whom I remember so many talking distastefully of, yet people seem to defend that same sphere of influence in these current events.

I get the argument it’s not our backyard, but we did sign the Budapest Memorandum, and Europe certainly has an interest in Russian expansion. The already biggest nation in land mass suddenly wants more, and that’s a problem.

It seems to me the importance here to many is simply playing contrarian. And towards what? A perceived unique political entity that is the only one supporting Ukraine? Because the group I notice mostly playing devils advocate against Ukraine completely ignore their guy was the first to give them lethal aid and said Biden wasn’t doing enough.

If Mexican drug cartels, backed by the Mexican Govt, invaded Texas and took control of half the State, would you really argue that the US Govt should just let them? And give them free water as well?

Maybe you have forgotten what happened in 2014 - some of us have not.

You do realise that the "Strategic Culture Foundation" is a Russian think tank based in Moscow?

And they are the ones who publish the supposed online current affairs magazine that you reference in your link.

Far as i can establish the information you linked seems to be nothing more than Russian propaganda laced with hate-filled rhetoric and lies.

That's what happened in 2014...

Gotta love all those color revolutions...yessir...Thankfully some countries and peoples see through all that...

Just ask Egypt how that all turned out...
