10 Storm Shadow cruise missiles, apparently:

www.independent.co.uk...
I don't know about this claim which implies 90%+ success rate though:

"It is my understanding its accuracy, and ability to deliver successfully the payload as sent and designed by the Ukrainians has been almost without fault," he said.
Russia claims to have shot down 7 of the 10 and I don't believe that either. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle, but Russia's statement means at least 3 were successful (not shot down, and probably more than that).

Ukraine hits Russian naval targets in major Crimea attack

Russia's defence ministry said in statement that Ukraine had attacked a Black Sea shipyard with 10 cruise missiles and three uncrewed speedboats in the early hours, damaging two military vessels that had been undergoing repairs.

It said it downed seven of the incoming missiles and that the attack boats had been destroyed by a Russian patrol ship.

Russia rarely tells the truth in such matters, having a tendency to exaggerate in their favor.

What is your point? Does it surprise you a member of the LGBTIQA+ community would not like Russians? They have a tendency to throw them off roofs.

Apparently, China has released a new map of their borders and ironically annexed Russian territory. The funny part is the kremlin can't afford to upset China. All other countries are fiiing protests and all Russia can do is say well we have an agreement in 2008. When its obvious China could care less about the agreement. They know Russia cant tell them no make a deal with the devil you pay the price. Just wait until they annex other Russian territories they still claim to own alot of siberia.

Did you mean to post a link about that? Because it looks like you accidentally re-posted the LGBTQ link from your prior post.

I heard that the Chinese Russian? port city of Haishenwai (Russia now calls it Vladivostok), is now being used by China. This article is from May 2023:

Ukraine War: China exploits Russia’s weakness, regains Vladivostok after 163 years

The Vladivostok port, historically known as Haishenwai under the Qing era, will offer cross-border transit for shipments for internal trade in the Jilin region of northeastern China.

Without any fanfare, the General Administration of Customs China (GACC) made this announcement on its website. Beijing claims that the action is consistent with its “national strategic plan to re-vitalize Northeast China’s industrial base and facilitate the cross-border transport of domestic trade goods with the use of overseas ports.”

Russia is very slowly losing a grip on the annexed Ukraine territories like Zaporizhia, so China knows Russia doesn't have any resources left for a fight with China at this point.

13 September Update

Ukrainian forces conducted missile strikes on occupied Sevastopol, Crimea, on September 13, damaging a Russian landing ship, a Kilo class submarine, and port infrastructure. The Department of Strategic Communications of the Ukrainian Armed Forces stated that Ukrainian forces successfully conducted missile strikes on Russian naval means and port infrastructure in occupied Sevastopol.

Ukrainian forces advanced in western Zaporizhia Oblast and reportedly advanced near Bakhmut amid continued counteroffensive operations on both sectors of the front on September 13. Geolocated footage published on September 12 indicates that Ukrainian forces made limited gains south of Robotyne (12km south of Orikhiv) in western Zaporizhia Oblast.

Russian forces conducted a series of Shahed-131/136 drone strikes targeting Sumy and Odesa oblasts on the night of September 12 to 13. The Ukrainian General Staff reported that Ukrainian air defenses destroyed 34 of 45 Shaheds, which mainly targeted port infrastructure in Izmail and Reni, Odesa Oblast.

Russian forces conducted offensive operations along the Kupyansk-Svatove-Kreminna line, near Bakhmut, along the Avdiivka-Donetsk City line, in the western Donetsk-eastern Zaporizhia Oblast border area, and in western Zaporizhia Oblast but did not make any confirmed advances.

A chilling event happened around about this time last year,of which detail are now emerging-

The RAF plane - with a crew of up to 30 - was flying a surveillance mission over the Black Sea in international airspace on 29 September last year when it encountered two Russian SU-27 fighter jets.
The intercepted communications show that one of the Russian pilots thought he had been given permission to target the British aircraft, following an ambiguous command from a Russian ground station.
However, the second Russian pilot did not.
He remonstrated and swore at his wingman when he fired the first missile.

www.bbc.co.uk...

Holy crap.
That seems like a very close call indeed.
Thank goodness for either crappy Russian missiles,or decent RAF countermeasures!

Was it a rogue pilot to blame though-or the "ambiguous command"from the ground?

Either way, that was possibly the most dangerous point of the war so far(that we know about) in terms of WW3 trigger.
Scary sh1t..just one mistake by some idiot and it could be lights out for the developed world.

According to an investigation website in Latvia a pro Kremlin journalist says they've been asked not to mention rumours regarding another mobilisation.

According to the Latvia-based news and investigation website Meduza, Vladimir Putin's administration has issued an "urgent request" to Russian pro-government media, asking that they refrain from coverage surrounding the anticipated development.

The report says the outlets concerned have been instructed to avoid even covering rumours about another mobilisation - given the intense scepticism that official announcements from Russian authorities always now induce.

The website quotes a journalist from one pro-Russian publication as saying: "But as we [in Russia] believe, if the authorities deny something, then it will definitely happen."

Not saying it's true but I can see why it would be true.

Putin has an election coming up in 2024 which of course he will "win", but he would prefer to not have to stuff too many ballot boxes if he doesn't have to. Announcing a major mobilization now might cause votes for him to decline, and he doesn't want that, so that's why I think he needs to mobilize another 600,000 but will wait until after he's re-elected next year to do it.

Why Is Vladimir Putin Stalling?

Vladimir Putin is reportedly under increasing pressure to take a more aggressive approach to his war against Ukraine and introduce a full-scale mobilization, but the Russian president is stalling over concerns doing so would break from the propaganda narrative he's been pushing for more than 18 months, experts tell Newsweek...

Konstantin Sonin, a Russian-born political economist from the University of Chicago, said Putin is likely holding off against declaring a mass mobilization because he realizes that the war is "deeply unpopular among the vast majority of the Russian population."

"There are a couple of million who are very happy that there is a war against Ukraine, there are a couple of million who are opposing the war, and there are tens of millions who are not supportive and who are not protesting,"...

I check in here and several other places everyday hoping for some good news about Ukraine, and I got to say, I think it’s finally starting to come to fruition. The Putin fan boys certainly aren’t as vocal as they used to be… that’s got to be a good sign, yeah?

Putin going to North Korea for help has too be the nail in the coffin. I almost feel sorry for him about that… almost!

….lol.

Its almost like Russian commanders are trying to lose. They make incredibly stupid decisions and fail to learn from their mistakes. Ukraine has now managed to get rid of most of Crimea's air defense they apparently modified s200 s to fire at ground targets waited until Russians turned on targeting radar then launched anti-radiation missiles. Ukraine claims to have killed another Triumf missile system aka S-400. And now they are losing submarines to a country that doesnt even have a navy.

At this point im not sure it could get much worse
china is slowly backing away from Russia and the only support they get is Iran and North Korea. Speaking of that did you see the meeting Kim Jong Un was in full emperor mode while Putin grovelled at his feet. How bad must it be that Putin has to suck up to North Korea you would think this would at least make him rethink his decisions.

The war has shown that defense of ships in port is no sure thing.

Lots of SAMs can probably ward off most cruise missile strikes, but bits like the cardboard drones are something else. Even small explosions by things like antennas or areas with fuel or ammunition will be a problem for most any ship. My guess is the cardboard drones will grow larger and carry heavier payloads.

Yet still the usual suspects keep on telling us that we haven't seen anything yet and that Putin is keeping his best forces and best weapons in reserve.
Its truly laughable.

As you say, how desperate must he be to go cap-in-hand to North Korea and Iran?

There are rumours of another call-up, possibly up to 600,000 people?

How long till the Russian people say enough is enough and Russia turns in on itself, just as it did in 1917?

It really is pathetic.

For someone who likes to present himself as a strong man, it is truly embarrassing.

Trouble is, if he is replaced, it's likely the new guy will be even worse.
