18 September Update

Russian forces conducted a series of Shahed-131/136 drone and cruise missile strikes on coastal and rear areas of Ukraine on the night of September 17-18. Ukrainian officials reported that Russian forces launched 24 Shahed drones from Krasnodar Krai and occupied Crimea and 17 Kh-101/555/55 air-launched cruise missiles from Tu-95MS strategic bombers that took off from Volgograd Oblast.

Ukrainian forces conducted offensive operations in at least two sectors of the front and advanced in western Zaporizhia on September 18.

Russian forces conducted offensive operations along the Kupyansk-Svatove-Kreminna line, near Bakhmut, along the Avdiivka-Donetsk City line, in the Donetsk-Zaporizhia Oblast border area, and in western Zaporizhia and advanced in some areas on September 18.

If the video was fake why didn't she say Vance fell for a fake Russian propaganda video and she wasn't the person in the video? Like Dragonridr said her hair looks different in her photo so I believed the source I cited saying it was a fake, but apparently the source was wrong and so was I for believing it. However, I explained what was going on and Cirillo's reply elaborates further...are you still upset after reading her clarification that she's talking about getting legal justice? I think she should have posted this comment in her earlier video, because it's clear she's talking about pursuing justice through the court system, which wasn't as clear perhaps in her earlier video.

we in the TDF and across Ukraine believe that journalists are heroes and have the right to report on Ukraine's war for liberation without interference. Free speech is the pillar of all democracy...The Russian propagandists and war criminals who are spreading lies and pushing false narratives are not journalists. They are information agents and an extension of the Putin-Prigozhin effort to spread chaos and wreak havoc across the globe. In Ukraine, we do not seek vengeance, only justice. Because of this, these enemies of freedom and democracy will have to answer for their crimes in a court of law.

In her other video she said the "propagandists will all be hunted down, and justice will be served" and people might have been misinterpreting that to think she was promoting violence, did you? Are you happier with her clarification now that she means doing so through the justice system in a court of law? Or do you still have a problem with that?

If you put yourself in Zelensky's shoes, and you have missiles from Russia bombarding your country all the time, and you see some more destruction from another missile, is it that unreasonable for your first thought to be it's another Russian missile? This is from your source:

I'm glad you can finally admit I was correct and it wasn't a fake video. Hell yes I still have an issue with the message she sent out, the bs justification she gave for why she put the video out, and I even take great issue with your justification of using the government to crack down on speech/journalist. What Ukraine did to Lira is disgusting and they are lucky they picked a target that doesn't garner much sympathy from groups who claim to support free Speech, freedom of the press, and political dissent. If the US government followed Ukraine's actions during the war on terror then this site would be gone and many of it's users/owners would of been sent to the gulag. Ukraine is slowly morphing into Russia when it comes to their actions quashing dissidents and journalist whom are critical of them. Ukraine has shown that their past actions targeting religious institutes aren't a one off and they really aren't all that much better than the authoritarians they are fighting against. Sarah's follow up video trying to claim Ukraine respect's free speech/freedom of the press is as silly as when a Russian makes a statement claiming they are bringing peace to Ukraine after destroying a city.

Only reason Urkraine has for firing off missiles in the first place is because Russia invaded their land.

19 September Update

Russian forces conducted offensive operations along the Kupyansk-Svatove-Kreminna line, near Bakhmut, along the Avdiivka-Donetsk City line, and in western Zaporizhia Oblast but did not advance on September 19.

Russian forces conducted a series of Shahed-131/-136 drone and ballistic missile strikes on Ukrainian rear areas on September 19. Ukrainian military officials stated that Russian forces launched 31 drones from Krasnodar Krai and 1 Iskander-M ballistic missile from occupied Crimea and that Ukrainian forces shot down 28 drones.

Without the aid Ukraine has received Russia would now have complete control of Ukraine and Putin's expansionist policies would have succeeded.
So that's certainly one objective achieved.

The longer the stalemate continues the greater the chance discontent will rise and Russia will turn in on itself.

20 September Update

Ukrainian forces continued offensive actions near Bakhmut and in western Zaporizhia Oblast on September 20. The Ukrainian General Staff stated that Ukrainian forces continued offensive operations and inflicted significant losses on Russian manpower and equipment in the Melitopol (western Zaporizhia Oblast) direction.

Russian forces conducted another round of Shahed drones strikes against Ukraine overnight on September 19-20. Ukrainian military officials reported that Ukrainian forces shot down 17 of 24 launched Iranian-made Shahed 136/131 drones in Sumy, Poltava, Kirovohrad, and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts and that some of the drones struck an oil refinery in Poltava Oblast.

Ukraine’s Main Military Intelligence Directorate (GUR) reported that unspecified saboteurs damaged Russian strategic aircraft at Chkalovsky airfield near Moscow on September 18.

Russian forces conducted offensive operations along the Kupyansk-Svatove line, near Bakhmut, along the Avdiivka-Donetsk City line, and in western Zaporizhia Oblast but did not make confirmed gains.

The Russian Red Cross (RKK) indicated that the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, particularly partial mobilization efforts in autumn 2022, caused a decline in mental health among many Russians.

Ukraine is making progress, the only negtive is that the progress has been slower than many expected, after the huge gains Ukraine made last year in Kharkiv and Kherson may have raised expectations for the counter-offensive this year.

So the chances of Ukraine taking Crimea by force this year are near zero, but nonetheless, they can make life for the Russian military in Crimea hell, as they did with their biggest attack on Crimea to date:

The ironic thing about Russia evacuating their fleet from Sevastopol as discussed in that video, to avoid further destruction, is that the main reason Putin wanted Crimea in the first place was to project military naval power from the base in Sevastopol. Instead of projecting power, Putin's naval fleet has ended up showing vulnerability to a country that doesn't even have a navy, and they are running away.

While Russia got a lot of nasty surprises in Crimea, Ukraine also got a nasty surprise when they found Russia had extended the range of their suicide drones which destroyed an airplane that Ukraine thought was too far away from the front to be reached by those drones. So Ukraine is moving their aircraft further from the front now.

So now they say Ukraine is likely striking Russian "backed fighters" in Sudan Africa
