Like I already said, to me the satanic panics were the push from the religious right in the US to censor some things. The reason it ties in with the topic of Q is because it seems to also be a push from a religious perspective.

I will say that I don't believe all the claims of SRA but certainly can see some cases being true but that is neither here nor there.

I have to jump in here to defend Dask. I am 57 and grew up with many different "satanic panics" and as Dask pointed out, it was normally the hyper religious right (Falwell was a big part of this I believe). They would point to song lyrics and ridiculous band name interpretations, like AC/DC meant Anti Christ Death Cult or something, Kiss meant Knights In Satan's Service, etc. Later they focused on video games and how they would make kids think it was ok to go out murdering and raping like in Grand Theft Auto... then the libs jumped in with Tipper Gore, who I believe was responsible for the current warning labels on music for their lyrics. Dee Snyder of Twisted Sister actually went to congress and smoked them:

Not to take away from anything that anyone went through, but I've never heard of the McMartin thing until today in this thread. The satanic panics I remember were mostly the religious right making things up about rock bands and video games.
Dask may have a different opinion of what "Q" is, but he's not wrong about this and he's not intentionally making light out of anyone's experience - he, like me, has a different memory regarding the term Satanic Panic.

Albert Bourla assumed the position of Chairman and CEO in January of 2019. Immediately upon assuming this position he pivoted the entire company's orientation to one of risk taking. Nothing suspicious about timing here.
Bourla continued to make very controversial changes in all parts of the company's structure and even divested the company of the bread and butter staples which brought in 25% of revenue. Very radical changes with many senior managers very concerned especially so quickly.

Where was the board during all of this? More importantly during Operation Warp Speed Pfizer refused any government funding. No normal board would just go along with such a risky strategy. According to Bourl's own estimate the company could face losses in excess of $2 billion! Bourla, a new CEO, consistently mentions he had unanimous support from the Board of Directors. The Lead Independent Director Shantanu Narayen, Chairman and CEO of Adobe, was Bourla's mentor. Someone with little knowledge of pharma. His real skill was his ability to convince the other directors on the board of Bourla's plan.

Minutes are taken at these meetings and it would be worth having a look at the decision making that was taking place at that time. Most likely they are massaged but still relevant. If there was conflict it would be worth knowing which directors voted yea and which nay and how much influence was exerted by Narayen via Bourla.
