A bit more info on those Chinese military flights to Serbia-

Media and military experts said Sunday that six Chinese Air Force Y-20 transport planes landed at Belgrade's civilian airport early Saturday, reportedly carrying HQ-22 surface-to-air missile systems for the Serbian military.
The Chinese cargo planes with military markings were pictured at Belgrade's Nikola Tesla airport. Serbia's defense ministry did not immediately respond to AP’s request for comment.
The arms delivery over the territory of at least two NATO member states, Turkey and Bulgaria, was seen by experts as a demonstration of China’s growing global reach.
“The Y-20s’ appearance raised eyebrows because they flew en masse as opposed to a series of single-aircraft flights,” wrote The Warzone online magazine. “The Y-20′s presence in Europe in any numbers is also still a fairly new development.” Serbian military analyst Aleksandar Radic said that “the Chinese carried out their demonstration of force.”

So it was a missile delivery to Serbia and a show of force from China.

Gee. Since these missile systems sent by China are "comparable" to Patriot missiles ... and Russia found the deployment of Patriot missiles in neighboring NATO countries so objectionable ... I guess all the countries neighboring Serbia have to do is accuse Serbia of having neo-Nazis ... and the invasion is on! Heck, even Russia would have to agree with such an invasion because its logic would match that of Moscow's hand-in-glove.

(/sarcasm)

Cheers

Im thinking this is China feeling they need to beef up the Russian border area in mongolia. They have already refused to send Russia any weapons on multiple occasions. However i can see how it would be in their best intrests to have a force near the russian border.

Well, China recently made a statement during the anniversary of NATO’s bombing of Serbia in 99’

“China fires back at NATO's ill intention on Ukraine crisis amid anniversary of Yugoslavia bombing”

The Chinese Foreign Ministry on Friday said NATO's act of aggression will never be forgotten by the Serbian people, the Chinese people and the people around the world, amid the bitter 23rd anniversary of the Yugoslavia bombing in 1999 and NATO's latest smear.

On March 24, 1999, NATO started a 78-day bombing of Yugoslavia, causing thousands of casualties including three Chinese citizens, and displacing hundreds of thousands. Twenty-three years on, the US-driven NATO did not stop its expansion and aggression, fanning the flames on the Ukraine crisis and pressing China with groundless accusations.

Take that how you will.

I hope that people never forget the way media outlets fawned over Angela Merkel during Trump's presidency and dismissed the Russian threat in 2014. The start of a sick media culture that saw the likes of CNN and MSNBC go from political bias to propaganda outlets. The war in Ukraine might have saved the fake news media from becoming the source of political baby food for zombies.

IMO, the war in Ukraine saved more than the fake news. Putin gave them all a huge gift.

Merkel ... yeah. She was certainly a key player in the build-up to this war. We may rest assured that no one in the EU will have any inclination to closely examine her actions and their consequences. I have my own notions about her, but will (for once) not further comment.

Pretty much all the German chancellors following Kohl have been Sonderweg people. And that hasn't been good for either NATO or the EU.

Cheers

Yeah, the Chinese people will never forget ... until the CCP goes away, and then no one there will give a toss.

For those who support Ukraine, democracy, and basically the rest of the world, about 30 seconds.

For Putin supporters, treads make you, which depending on the loom can take days.

So, how quickly did you want that?

I know DTOM, i KNOW! I couldnt pass this one up though.

Air defense has shot down the rocket fired at #Mykolaiv. The debris started a small forest fire that was quickly extinguished.

A column of #Russian equipment heading for #Kharkiv was destroyed. Witnesses report 2,000 bodies and lots and lots of equipment.

Yeah I'm not too sure about the 2000 people thing seems a little unlikely thinking we have some Ukraine propaganda here.

Normally I'd agree, but I think this is the convoy earlier reported to be 8 miles long in that area.

I have no confidence in any reported numbers, but 2000 wouldn't be out of the question if it is that 8 mile convoy.

An update on New Zealand's contribution towards supporting Ukraine:

• The deployment of an NZDF C-130H Hercules transport aircraft and 50 support personnel to Europe – for two months
• A further NZDF 8-person team logistic specialists to support the international donor coordination centre in Germany with the flow of aid and supplies to Ukraine
• An extra $13.1 million, towards military and legal and human rights support, including:
• $7.5m to contribute to weapons and ammunition procurement by the United Kingdom
• $4.1m to support commercial satellite access for the Ukrainian Defence Intelligence
• $1m to the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights
• $500,000 for the International Court of Justice and International Criminal Court

Art icle

The RNZAF's ageing C130s will keep their maintenance crews busy. But the aircraft play a small role in the airlifting of supplies to Ukraine. Also, the modest contribution towards the UK's efforts to supply aid avoids the issue of items shipping to New Zealand before arriving in Ukraine. Besides, aside from a small number of LAVs, the NZDF's limited stock of war reserves is exposed by the situation.

Concerning international means of justice, Germany and Japan's unconditional surrender in 1945 permitted the allies to place Axis war criminals on trial. Unless Ukraine takes suspected Russian butchers POWs and hands them over to the international system, one might ponder the New Zealand government's thinking.
