Highlights of Russian Military Operation in Ukraine on June 23, 2022

▪️In the northern Kharkiv region Russian Armed Forces continue strikes on ZSU’s facilities in Kharkiv, Chuhuiv, and Zolochiv. A successful offensive by the Russian Armed Forces resulted in gaining a foothold in Tsupivka and fighting on the northern outskirts of Prudyanka.

▪️In Izyum direction Russian Armed Forces crossed the river, liberated Nortsivka and created a bridgehead for advancing on ZSU’s positions in Chepil’ area.

▪️Russian Armed Forces units advancing on Lysychans'k liberated Vovchoyarivka and entered Lysychans'k western outskirts. Meanwhile Russian Armed Forces advancing from the south fight fiercely with ZSU’s units entrenched in the industrial areas.

▪️Allied forces started clearing the encircled area in Hirs'ke and Zolote where the encircled ZSU’s units surrendered en masse.

▪️Long-lasting fighting for Mykolaivka comes to an end. Russian Armed Forces and LPR People's Militia clear the village.

▪️Wagner's PMC assault groups are engaged in heavy fighting near Pokrovs'ke: ZSU’s 30th Mechanized Brigade lost more than half of its personnel.

▪️Ukrainian strikes on Donetsk damaged schools, kindergartens, and Holy Annunciation Church in Kuybyshev neighborhood and resulted in casualties and injuries.

▪️ZSU attempts an offensive on DPR People’s Militia positions near Vuhledar. As a result of long-lasting fighting, Ukrainian forces occupied Pavlivka and gained a foothold on the outskirts of Novomaiors’ke.

▪️In Kryvyi Rih direction ZSU failed to advance near Pot'omkine.

n the Sumy region Russian Armed Forces hit AFU’s positions and military infrastructure in Hlukhiv and Bachivs’k.

▪️In the northern Kharkiv region Russian Armed Forces advance near Verkhnii Saltiv and Pytomnyk. In Izyum's direction, AFU continues transferring their sabotage groups to the eastern bank of Seversky Donets. Near Dovhen'ke Russian air defence shot down the Ukrainian SU-25 assault aircraft.

▪️Allied forces continue fierce fighting in the southern outskirts of Lysychans'k and completely blockaded the city from Bila Hora and the industrial zone. AFU’s separate units retreat from Lysychans'k to Sivers'k and Bakhmut trying to avoid the encirclement.

▪️Group of Forces South under the command of General of the Army Surovikin completely defeated the encircled Ukrainian troops in Hirs'ke and Zolote.

▪️Ukrainian troops continue shelling Donbass cities: one of the strikes killed civilians in Donetsk.

▪️Near Vuhledar allied forces hold back AFU’s attempts to develop a counterattack.

▪️In Zaporizhzhia's direction Russian Armed Forces hit the enemy’s positions near Hulyaipole.

▪️Another terrorist attack in Kherson: Regional Youth Policy Director’s car was blown up.

Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to attack Donetsk civilian districts with NATO 155-mm artillery and MLRS cluster munitions Kievsky district of the city. Shelling began at 8AM.
On Artyom st, Gymnasium No. 70 was damaged, and residential flats were destroyed nearby. A number of houses on the street are damaged.
OnTreneva st, a shell from Ukrainian positions smashed an apartment, and a gas pipeline caught fire.
Emergency Services in the Kievskiy district of Donetsk were targeted. The men stated they saw a drone above them prior to the strike.

No disrespect, but Russia ain't no superpower. They have an economy the size of South Korea and a military that has been mauled by a smaller and poorer nation, whose military budget is a fraction of Russia's. They have zero global influence of significance. The only thing that gives Russia relevance in today's world is their stockpile of nukes, their corruption and their habit of belligerence.

We now know that if Russia actually attacked someone with real initial capabilities, they would have been flattened.

The Isle of Wight is a superpower, if Russia is!

Putin has gathered up all the men and equipment to gain a victory at Severodonetsk , The Uks withdrew once realized that there was nothing left to gain after inflicting the maximum losses against the Russian .

Uks been making gains in the south ariund Kherson added by partisan activity against the Russians

It took The Allies 6 weeks to liberate Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg and France in WW II.

Just remind me how long ago Russia invaded Ukraine ? The answer is 4 months.

And a fair amount of territory they have gained was already in their hands since 2014, i.e Crimea.

Facts are not bias. It's a fact that Russia is not a superpower. They are not an economic power, a cultural power, nor (as we have seen) a military power.

If Russia didn’t think it can complete the operation or “invasion” ...

Russia's "special military operation" failed in its main objectives. It has not forced a change of Ukrainian leadership (aka de-Nazification"), nor has Russia disarmed Ukraine, in fact Ukraine is being rearmed. Russia has moved non-aligned countries closer to NATO and the western world. Russia's a pariah state.

Russia is now trying to make something of the farce they have unleashed on the world, by annexing more of the eastern part of Ukraine and destroying as much as they can. It'll be a pyrrhic victory, if one is ever announced.

I never thought of the war in this manner. The United States and Great Britain will continue feeding weapons and resources to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, until the last Ukrainian soldier is killed by the Russians.

I think it basically is.

The more I learn about all the things proceeding this war the more I am convinced that our government wanted it to happen. Where I think they made the mistake was assuming that Russia would attack from Donetsk. Instead, they attacked from all around instead of facing their fortified positions and are working to encircle and hit them from the rear.

Most people don't even know that two months leading up to the invasion that Ukraine had escalated attacks on Donetsk to the levels seen in 2014 and had staged arsenals and depots poised to attack Crimea.

The poking the bear euphemism is 100% accurate.

Amateur take, lol. If the West was in control they also would have raised Ukraine's reserves sooner. Instead Zelensky refused to believe the warnings until the night before Russia attacked.
