Russians claim they blew up another Ukrainian S-300, possibly by using Iskander R-500 cruise missile.

twitter.com...

Funny that.

russia 'claims' to have destroyed more S300s than Ukraine ever had.

Are we supposed to believe this one when the 2 reported last week were russian lies?

Zalas are used extensively. These are hard to shoot down which is why they aren't in the news like Orlan is. Only two confirmed losses since war started.

Footage of Ka-52 helicopters in Ukraine. These are not true attack helicopters like Mi-28 and AH-64 and Z-10 because it lacks separate EO for both pilot and WSO. It is more of a recon helicopter like OH-58 and Z-19.

could Russia be at a bluff and having sims activated in a region to make it look like they are in one place when they arent ?

“If you are near the enemy, make him believe you are far from him.
If you are far from the enemy, make him believe you are now” Sun Tzu

hahah probably not because that would be pretty smart and based on their conflict progress so far id say they havent been smart at all.

Maybe for the same reason the Ukrainian 's used cheap drones to distract the defences of the Moskva.

Orlan has better endurance. 18 hours compared to Zala's 4 hours. And better comm range. 600 km compared to about 60 km. Also, Orlan is pretty cheap and is good at depleting MANPADS to makea attack drones and manned attack planes safer.

Which drones do you think they used?

It wasn't a tiny drone like orlan, and russia didn't shoot it down.

Why does russia keep using orlans when they keep getting shot down every day?

Ukraine is never gonna run out of manpads, so that obviously won't work.

The real reason is that russia had very few drones newer than orlan and doesn't have the ability to build any more.

So this situation isn't likely to change.

russia is losing the few newer drones they do have to newer defensive systems.

Tends to happen when you surround yourself with glorified Yes Men.

Once again, the sliding, distractions, and provocation on this thread inversely reflect the success, or lack thereof, of Putin's invasion of Ukraine.

XCathdra, your continuation of the original thread seems to have registered on someone's radar.

Cheers

It certainly explains all the spam and fake accounts popping up lately. Speaking of which I would like to say Thank you to the mods for staying on top of that issue. Also a thanks to everyone who is participating in the debates etc in this thread (civilly), regardless on what side of the fence you support.

The latest estimate I have seen for Russia getting the east of Ukraine and the south of Ukraine, Russia would need an additional 600k troops to take and hold it.

The latest from villages / towns / cities in Russia, namely Belgorod, are claiming Ukraine is now shelling russian those places. Part of me thinks that while its possible, I think Russia is behind some of it. If Russia can demonstrate Ukraine is "attacking" russian cities, it would be easier for Putin to declare martial law and declare a war with Ukraine.

That type of play is right out of the Russian - Chechen war playbook.

Just like Hitler and the 3rd Reich... Even Putin's accusations toward the military is exactly like Hitler's.
