Putin will argue, the USA invaded Afghanistan and Iraq, he will also argue he doesn’t want a Biden puppet in the Ukraine joining nato, just a few miles from Moscow. Making an invasion a snap.

Russia, Russia, Russia has been going on since the end of WW2. The West needed a boogey man. Although much of what we knew about the USSR was correct.

You are right it is not communist anymore, its worst... Its an Oligarchy run by criminal thugs. Putin moved into the roll of dictator many years ago.

As to 2014... The so called Russians living in Ukraine need to get over it or go back to the motherland. Ukraine has not been Russia since 1991, so even though they want the land they live on to be Russia it is not, end of story... Russia has backed the separatist there just as Iran backs groups like Hizballah to attack Israel. Russia dumps 100 million in weapons into their hands, and says, look how evil Ukraine Goverment is when Ukraine fights back in a situation all orchestrated by Russia. They need to decide are they Russians or Ukrainians, this isn't the 1980s anymore...

As to the real enemies, the map hasn't shifted and though Russia is not a world dominating power what they are doing is not good. You all sat right here weeks ago saying how Russia is not building up on Ukraine's border, it is all Western propaganda, must have been dozen of posts of deniability of Russian's action, but here we are...lol Go back and look at my posts weeks ago, I said they would invade by spring, I was off a little.

So when Russian invades the next country what are you going to say? Will you all say up front again, no no no Russia doesn't want to invade anyone, it is all western propaganda, and when they do will you again turn it on the country they invaded? Oh look how the evil Poles use Molotov cocktails on our defenseless tanks...

As to what Putin wants, well in his own nation, that's one thing, but in another, that's a completely different kettle of fish.

Only person doing any sort of invasion where Europe is concerned this century is Russia far as i can establish.

Fact of the matter is that its not Putin's privilege to dictate the will of his neighbours anymore than i can dictate what happens next door.

Please. Lack of evidence does not equal lack of a crime. To presume otherwise and not take appropriate precautions for appropriate risk is just stupid. I am not a prosecutor, nor an investigator, nor in any other official capacity to take such action. One thing seems clear to me , that all superpowers with a mighty weapons arsenal and new technological development of destruction wants to test their own capabilities on the battlefield, either by protecting countries and citizens or just conquer countries that they think should be changed

And America has been testing and improving for over 20 years in real time war...America is not a country to go up against right now...lol

Not sure what Russia is testing with their minimal skilled conscripted troops and equipment that looks like it was pulled out of the mothball fleet.

What a ridiculous thing to say... and presume to know. That's not a "truth." It's an opinion. Or a belief.

Even at the most superficial level, we know that Ukraine has been flooded with weapons by western nations and NATO, and we know that promises and guarantees to Russia have been broken for decades.

I've looked at this ten ways from Sunday, and I don't see any good reason for Putin to invade unless he genuinely believed there was a threat of some sort that he felt responsible to thwart. He knew taking action would hurt Russia. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if the west's saber rattling included a clear and direct threat to Russia that the public does not know about, even if it was simply a bluff to provoke Putin to move first to pre-empt any threat or attack to Russia and Russia's interests. Which could then be held against him.

Which is exactly what is happening.

Yup. No proof of anything for or against any of the parties involved. JUST LIKE YOU.

But I'm not the one proclaiming "truth." I am clearly and consistently saying that we do not know, because we cannot know, and therefore ALL we have are opinions and beliefs. I will not pretend otherwise.

She very calmly told me that factions in Ukraine were killing Ukrainian citizens who are loyal to Russia, and Putin is trying to stop them.

I'm not sure what she means by "loyal", but here in the USA giving aid and comfort to the enemy is considered treason and is punishable by death.

Ukraine has been at war with Russia for eight years, eight years of invading and occupying Ukraine and subjugating its citizens.

Not sure what Russia is testing with their minimal skilled conscripted troops and equipment that looks like it was pulled out of the mothball fleet.

By far I'm not a military expert, I do follow technological developments and I'm glad that the US is part if not the biggest part of NATO to mutually protect each other countries as of our mutual economy bonds and what more.

I don't dare to speculate what the Russian military arsenal consists of other then they got very sophisticated fighter jets tanks and rockets as of the new development of their hypersonic missile systems.

Clearly it seems that their military logistics aren't working as we have seen operating by the US in Iraq but did not quietly go well in Afghanistan, every war seems to be different from the mentality of the opposing military or insurgency.
