* - Russian conscripts reportedly forced to sign military contracts, losing contact with family

Putin is once again all about the hearts and minds...

Not really that radical of a move during a military operation.

I hear Putin is not happy with the Russian military. What was expected as a walk in the park turned into Russia grabbing a badger named Ukraine.

Cheers

The Russians are victims of their own propaganda. They were led to believe the Ukrainian military will drop their weapons and flee and that they would be greeted as liberators for the Ukrainian people.

I wonder if Germany will finally allow Lithuania to deliver the ex-East German army 122-mm howitzers to Ukraine now.

Their wake-up has been painfully slow at the cost of Ukrainian lives.

I don't know anything about the artillery, I'll let you know if I discover anything.

Germans would need someone else to provide transport though.

That particular trick only works for American Made weapons.

For important legal reasons.

putin is much more than just furious.

May start sending his own generals to gulags soon.

He isn't dumb, he knows exactly how disastrous this is for russia.

Cue the reinstatement of political commissars and machine gun units to 'urge' the less motivated troops forward.

For the glory of Mother Russia ... of course.

Never fk with heavily armed angry teenagers in their own neighborhood.

I hope the russians there surrender quickly.

Ukraine has been having trouble convincing those teens to take prisoners.

That leash won't hold long before breaking again.

Consider this you're last warning.

Tick ... tick ... tick

The clock that Putin is so eager to wind backwards keeps on running.

Oh, but why does this matter?

Two reasons.

Russian logistics to support offensive operations are geared for the short term. They have to get a win quickly or parts of their forces will be forced into defensive posture because ammo supply won't be adequate for attacks.

Rasputitsa ("General Mud") is on the way. That will force Russian attacks to operate on the roads in pencil-like fashion, which is much easier to block than a broad-front offensive (Think of the British forces in MARKET-GARDEN).

Cheers

Not of a 3rd world country like russia.

We dont use conscription. We use an all volunteer military. We have a draft but it hasnt been used since Vietnam and we learned some harsh lessons by doing so.

I am guessing you have never been in the US military.

I wonder if the Russian Force's mission in that area is interdiction of the new supplies the Ukrainian Forces are receiving.

'Elite' russian special forces are hiding from pssd off Ukrainian teenagers in kharkiv right now.

Commissars never had any effect on special forces anyway.

Silly russians, surrender to the kids.

While you can.

lack of air supremacy by russia has slowed down their ground games. That lack of air is leaving their supply lines open to attack and its taking its toll on russian forces. I saw one video of Ukrainians stopping at a russian tank sitting on the side of the road with their crew present because they ran out of gas.

possibly.. but then they would also need to take the parts of Ukraine that border Romania, Slovakia and Hungary - all NATO countries.

Supplies were dropped in Saturday.

Likely nowhere near any border.

Borders are too challenging now, russia has eyes.

Then you need to reread that article. We dont have military officials coming to our houses, grabbing people of a certain age, removing them for the house and the person is forced to sign a conscription document all the while the family has no idea what occurring.

I understand th4e difference between ops security and kidnapping a person against there will to force them to fight in a war where chances are they will be killed (going back to that whole Vietnam issue and the draft).

What nation are in you in the military? Never said where you were so your answers is a bit vague.
