They are not requiring ID to cross the border into poland. They are required to get ID however if they wish to move to other countries. So they are setting up operations in poland to assist in getting ID for refuges who want to move to another country.

Smoke signals might be more up there alley with the number of burning Tanks, APC, and Artillery pieces they have all over the place.
It is hard to trust just about anything these days coming from either side, but it seems both sides to some degree are suggesting over 10,000 Russian soldiers have been killed, and 1500+ tanks have been destroyed. It also seems that Ukraine has move on the offence too in taking back some towns, so who knows where all this is going.

The expansion thing isn't possible. There is no way Russia can afford to be an occupying force. If Poland enters though it could turn Ukraine into another east west type of thing like Germany was. Because the west is very friendly with Russia with a lot of people that Russian is the primary language. They are not happy with the government's move to ban speaking Russian. There is just so much going on there that I have learned there is no way for me to cover it all.

10,000 is a lot. The Civil War lasted 4 years and 27 days and there was an estimate of 620,00 fatalities. That is 416 KIA a day. This war at 26 days so far that would be 384 a day. Some estimate it's high as 500 a day. And that's just official Russian figures. It doesn't include Ukrainian fatalities, or black ops etc. This is an extremely brutal bloody war so far.

Chubais was a powerful figure in the early 1990s, the architect of Russia’s controversial privatization drive and its transition to a market economy. He famously brought Putin into the Kremlin, giving him his first job in Moscow, and had managed to stay in favor through more than two decades of Putin’s rule as many other leading figures from the Boris Yeltsin era were pushed out.
Putin Aide Chubais Quits Kremlin, Leaves Russia
The Kremlin’s climate envoy and veteran reformer Anatoly Chubais has quit his position and left Russia over his opposition to the war in Ukraine, Bloomberg reported Wednesday.
The bombshell departure, according to two unnamed insiders cited by Bloomberg, makes Chubais the highest-profile figure to break with President Vladimir Putin over his decision to invade Ukraine.
Chubais is in Turkey and doesn't plan to return to Russia, two sources close to him told the RBC news website.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed later Wednesday that Chubais had resigned from his post, but didn't specify why.

I personally dont know anything the US has im defense.
Military analysts concurr, the US as far they know dont have anything.
I presume your best guess is the SM-6 which I bet money on wont be enough.
Do the USA have something else? Possibly, but lets face it. Aircraft carriers have become obselete for a while since the advent of supersonic missiles especially the ones have Russia have been producing to combat their own lack of Navy presence. Assymetric warfare, US invest 10s of billions into carrier strike groups. Russia spend millions on missile technology to counter.
Forget the Zircon, how would a US carrier group combat salvos of Mach3/4 antiship missiles? That was an issue before hypersonics.

It is pretty common that anything we the public find out about is 15+ years older technology to what we do not know.
NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg announced this at a briefing on the eve of the summit, EP reports.
"I expect the Allies to agree to provide additional support (to Ukraine) tomorrow. This includes cybersecurity assistance, as well as equipment to help protect Ukraine from chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threats," he said.
Stoltenberg reaffirmed the Alliance's position that it sought to prevent the war from leaving Ukraine.
"We are determined to do everything we can to support Ukraine. But we have a responsibility to ensure that the war doesn't go beyond Ukraine and become a conflict between Russia and NATO," he said.
As reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will take part in the NATO summit on March 24 in video format. Zelenskyy will speak about the need to stop Russia's war crimes against the Ukrainian population and civilian infrastructure.

Both Putin and Zelenskyi has today said they are ready to negotiate... lets see if they manage to strike a deal.
If not, then Im willing to guess that Ukrain will be heavily bombed to put EU under stress from more refugees, in turn causing them to advocate that Zelenskyi gives in.....

Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger has demanded that Israel “pick a side” amid Russia’s ongoing attack on Ukraine, insisting it cannot remain neutral despite Tel Aviv’s efforts to mediate negotiations and bring an end to the conflict.

* - Security Council rejects Russian draft resolution on humanitarian situation in Ukraine
UNITED NATIONS (AP) — The U.N. Security Council on Wednesday overwhelmingly defeated a Russian resolution that acknowledged Ukraine’s growing humanitarian needs — but didn’t mention the Russian invasion that caused the escalating crisis which has left millions of Ukrainians in desperate need of food, water and shelter...
U.S. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield countered that Russia was “attempting to use this council to provide cover for its brutal actions.”
“It really is unconscionable that Russia would have the audacity to put forward a resolution asking the international community to solve a humanitarian crisis that Russia alone created,” she said. “Russia does not care about the deteriorating humanitarian conditions. … If they cared, they would stop fighting. Russia is the aggressor, the attacker, the invader, the sole party in Ukraine engaged in a campaign of brutality against the people of Ukraine, and they want us to pass a resolution that does not acknowledge their culpability.”
