Well, it really wouldn't happen anyway (at least not nuclear), as the interlock systems designed to allow for a fission explosion need to trigger the sensors which detect a lack of air pressure and speeds reaching g-force. The missiles themselves may explode, but the interlock systems would prevent them from being armed for a nuclear detonation.

Ill try harder to keep up. Knew the info was at least 7 days out..just curious if the Chechens will mount something larger..a reply to: carewemust

Even if the warhead didn't dentonate it would still make a heck of a dirty bomb if the missile exploded in the silo I bet.
We can guess how Vlad would spin it if that happened-
"the nazis have attacked a russian nuclear silo and spread radiation everywhere!"

Truthfully, not so much. The warhead housing is designed to survive re-entry from a failed missle at 1500 kilometers (932 miles) from sub-orbital space, so there would likely be no release of radiation at all.

Don't get me wrong, it would be devestating for the crew in the silo from the missile explosion, but that's mostly the extent of it barring complete failure of all the interlocking systems and the warhead housing.

Hyperbole and inaccurate.

First off, the US pays the lowest price in the world per gallon of gasoline, secondly the US is far more resilient than you give us credit for.... you sure you're actually a US citizen?

its crazy the money in arms its a really big problem we have we are completely obsessed with death and war and profit
its a never ending cycle , think how far we would have come if we had spent all the money for war on everything else
think where we would be , I doubt we'd still be on earth

why dont the worlds governments see that ? if they all just agreed to end their arms race spending and immediately divert that money to everything else they need money for , then would there actually be any real problems anywhere? in terms of lack of funding for social programs ,energy, healthcare etc food , all that

I’ve seen F-4 Phantoms with a portable GPS, Garmin 496 specifically. Talk about crude.
