From some of what I have read there are people (Russians) leaving Russia (Finland still has an active train route between the countries) because of the sanctions in addition some area leaving because Putin is supposedly talking about declaring martial law in Russia.

Also unconfirmed reports of some of the higher ups in Putins circle are moving their families out of Russia. There is supposedly dissent among the top people and Putins actions.

Germany says Ukraine is NOT going to be allowed to join the NATO group of nations.

Ukraine’s membership is not on The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)’s agenda, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said Friday.

“I also made it clear in Moscow and in my visit that this option [Ukraine’s membership of NATO] is not on the table and will not take place,” he said during an interview with German public broadcaster ZDF.

“I said publicly that we all know that Ukraine’s NATO membership is not on the alliance’s agenda today,” he added. “That was understood by the American president, that [was] also understood by the French president.”

Scholz said he shares Russian President Vladimir Putin’s security concern and clarified to Putin that Ukraine will not be allowed to join NATO.

“The Russians were worried about the control issue of their security. [Putin was worried] that NATO has a military setup and rockets in Ukraine targeting Russian territory. That is why we tried to make it clear that this will not occur,” he elaborated.

No wonder President Zelensky is so angry tonight. The world is essentially telling him "You're on your own with fighting off Russia".

Oh well... I guess sacrificing a few thousand, to save 100 million or more lives, is logical. (The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few)

I believe all of that, because Putin invading Ukraine is seen by most people, even in his own country, as totally illogical. It's something important to him, and he's willing to enable thousands of Russian deaths, during the process of achieving his personal goal.

Hopefully someone at the Kremlin will do what is necessary to remove Vladimir from power.

While EVERYONE wants to help Ukraine right now, nobody gets a pass on those absolute minimum requirements.

Ukraine hasn't really even been trying until the last few years, and still has a long way to go.

Even though there are no sanctions on Russian oil, the way the world is reacting you would think there is one in place. Russia has seen a decrease in oil sales.
